I’ve enjoyed 6v6 immensely. Tanks are actually killable, and 1 person dying doesn’t automatically lose you the fight. There’s more synergies, and combos. I missed 6v6.

The problem with 6 v 6 wasn't balance issues etc when the devs didn't touch the game for 2 years. I wouldn't have had a problem with slow patches for a big UI update but 5v5 is so bad and unbalanceable
6v6 probably going come officially back since marvel rivals having such good stride with 6v6 itself. I mean they gotta step it up. I never played OW1 and seen the og version but when they introduced this to test it the stress dropped so much playing tank.
Straight up, playing off tank is so much fun. And main tanks need adjustments but its better without all the stuns and tank busting from ow1 in this mode.
I really like the take about nerfing tanks in 5v5 (removing passives too). The way 5v5 is formatted right now, it makes the tank characters defined by their role and not by their individual character. By reducing the overall effectiveness of the role of tank, we will get more variety of gameplay experiences with tank players adapting based on tank playstyles (damage focused, "tanking" focus, canceling focus, disruption focus, etc.) Although, I am also on board for going back to 6v6 ultimately. Easier to carry a teammate having a bad game/throwing, less rigid metas, better casual experience.
6v6 is the only fun ive had with the game since ow2 happened and ive played enough to level every battle pass to at least 100. There isnt a single thing that 5v5 does better. Queue times are literally the same unless you are masters or above, and playing in an actual match is a million times more fun on every role. Ive been flex queuing 6v6 the entire time its been out and play like 80% of the heroes and there isnt a single hero that doesnt feel severely better in 6v6 compared to 5v5. 6v6 is the sweet spot and i have yet to hear a single convincing argument against that
6v6 is the only fun you've had and you've played that much? Dude OW isn't for you. If literally not a single hero released since OW2 launched you didn't have fun with or enjoy, there's literally zero reasons to keep playing the game unless you just only play games you don't have fun with.

The problem is the absolute sheer amount of awfulness that 5v5 brings severely outweighs any amount of fun that the gameplay of heroes like JQ/Kiri/Illari/Ram or venture gives me. Ow is for me, I have over 5k hours on the game and have played since 2016 and loved every second of the pre 5v5 days even down to the last second before the servers of ow1 shut down. I care about the game deeply which is why it hurt so much to be forced to play such an awful format for so long. Ill keep doing it though if it meant 6v6 comes back permanently. So yes ill say it again because its true, ow is for me, what isnt for me is 5v5 and ow is still by far my favorite multiplayer game even with a soul sucking format. I completed my entire battlepass off of the 6v6 tests, & now I'm halfway through the BP on my backup account playing the 6v6 tests. I've not played a single 5v5 match this season!
Every single day I've played 6v6, it's been immensely fun as tank and support. As DPS less so, but there's also less pressure from underperforming as DPS. I feel like Zen needs a small bit of tuning back in 6v6 tho. Imo the time before discord wears off should be as it is in 5v5. Oh and reduce the hitboxes somewhat. They're still at 5v5 S9 levels. Also Kiriko got the wrong buff -> her suzu cd should be lowered to be more in line with countering Ana's nade, as it stands Ana can anti more than Kiri can cleanse. All of these are just cooldown tweaks and numbers though. I think everything else is in a good spot. Side note: imo min 1, max 3 should never be a thing otherwise we'll get GOATs again. If you're committed to 5v5, Kingmaker is the way to go but it needs to be hero-specific buffs rather than just yet another role passive.
Yeah but supp player's stress increases so they'll stick with 5v5 cuz supp players are the ones who buy most of the in-game cosmetics, example:- kiri, juno, mercy.

They need to give hog is reworked breather back because with heroes like hazard and ram having damage reduction on a meter or unlimited duration it makes hog way less flexible and clunky
Agreed I would rather have my breather and tankiness in exchange for my one shot capabilities maybe a fire rate increase would also be nice with a ult cost reduction and hog would feel so much better
no hog should be punished for using breather incorrectly in exchange for insane damage potiental you shouldnt be able to just walk away from poor positioning or mistakes reworked breather is poor design and encourages dumb plays from hog
6v6 is better but que time is the biggest issue, i think the best solution for the que times is making people que 2 roles at all times, this will make it so theres more tank ques, you can also add a priority que if you dont get your preffered role after a couple games

The game was built from the ground up to be a 6 v 6 game, making it to be 5v5 was such a strange decision that was obviously put in place as a bandaid fix to the balancing issues they couldn't solve.
Support main and I personally find 6v6 better. Yes they have a second tank but so does your team meaning more peels/protection and a better chance that at least one of your tanks isnt terrible at positioning. Not saying every support feels the same but so far the only character I dislike in 6v6 vs 5v5 is ironically hog lol. All support, damage, and other tanks feel much better imo.
Supports are the only role that benefits from 5v5 in any meaningful way and most of the benefits they have in 5v5 are possible in 6v6 with adjustments to their numbers. 6v6 allows for all the things 5v5 enables but with more dynamics and playmaking. It truly is just better.
The benefit supports get is that their broken characters are even easier to play and more valuable. 6v6 support has a higher skill ceiling cause you can actually get punished. Instead of getting dove by a winston who cant damage you if you receive any heals. @@eagerinspirit

Max 3 Min 1 is gonna be rubbish because: Unless they buff the dps passive, its most likely gonna be 3 tanks 1 Dps and 2 supports Or maybe 2 Tanks 1 Dps 3 supports In no way do i see the dps ever being the Max slot without mad overtuning
The dps passive is already oppressive at 15% in 2-2-2. Having to buff it would make supports feel even worse. I don’t see how max 3 is gonna work. Triple tank and 30% dps passive is gonna feel bad
@Cruxis_Angel i play tank, at M1 level and i dont even think the passive is that oppressive in 6V6 because tank coordination can bypass it, but yeah i do feel like it is straddling the line of being overtuned which is kinda what i said above. It would have to be overtuned for dps to have a chance
I prefer 6v6 also, but with the current OW2. Meaning reworked hog, don’t switch him back to OW1 hog. Zarya has 2 bubbles either for herself or her team and not 1 and 1 etc.. 🤷♀️
I started playing Overwatch 2 when it came out and never played Overwatch one. So far I much more enjoy 5v5 but the game is so stale at this point I’m not really playing anymore.
I love 6v6 but I also don’t like that they had hero’s reverted, like hog. Don’t get me wrong I love old hog, but I’m not gonna flip back and forth between old and new to play 6v6 or 5v5 comp. Just let us try current hero’s in 6v6….
The problem is that if they add competitive 6v6, 5v5 is gonna be dead instantly. I would enjoy playing the game a lot more, but i bet blizzard is absolutely not gonna do it 😂
Tank in 6v6 is good but for supports is fucking nightmare LW is already dead and even more dead in 6v6 format but somewhat usable at most in a dive comp and there is just too little opportunity’s to do dmg as support and be a support not just a heal bot
Most of my tank games are ruined with one of the dps getting constantly killed before I even fire A Shot. Ppl understand dps as 'Damage Dealer' without even knowing that dps dmg sux comparing to tanks. I literally win only when I yell in voice on dps that if they feeds 1 v 5 one more time I will report them. I can easily get 3k each teamfight but seems like I need 4k without dying to progress in ranks..
For 5v5 they’ve gotta do better with balancing their characters. I think it’s better to nerf all hp back to what it was before and make tanks less health pool but stronger tanking abilities.

Yeah he has an ego but he ain’t entirely wrong. More often than not your teammates will be complete 5hit. I’m barely average at this game and even I am baffled at how terrible my teammates are sometimes. Me personally I don’t find it fun at all sweating my balls off getting cortisol levels through the roof trying to carry a team.
At this point...i really don't care what direction Blizzard decided to do with Overwatch. I gave up on this game. Even if they make 6v6 permanent.....they still suck at balancing there character or even listen to people feedback....and that does suck about Blizzard.
I feel like hazard is so much better in 6V6 because you can actually go in deep and get all the squishes while your other tank pressures the front, so either the off tank peels for the two supports you have in a chokehold and let the tank and dps 3V5 or they just let the supports get rolled 😊
Max 3 min 1 is gonna be a huge issue with either 3 tanks or 3 supports on the field, the supports just do way too much in this game they’re just better DPS most of the time with heals and sustain abilities

Every single point that cyx makes about 6v6 vs 5v5 is just not true. 1. He says at 6:10 that 6v6 metas are less stagnant and locked in. Simply not true. That was almost always the case in 6v6. There were years long spans where the meta characters would never change. Double shield, goats, D.va (in general), pig pull (hog orisa). High-ranked meta stagnation has nothing to do with format and everything to do with balance patch frequency. The more changes there are, the less concrete metas become. 2. Cyx also says that it becomes easier to carry in 6v6 than 5v5. Also not true. He cites that it’s because one shit player represents a smaller portion of the team. That’s true and makes sense but the inverse is also true. You as a player make up a smaller portion of your team, making it harder for you to carry your shit teammate. 3. Cyx also says that have a throwing tank on your team is less detrimental but this is also not true on a large scale. Yes, in a single game one throwing tank is easier to win with, but this does not consider all possibilities. If you chart the tank throwing possibilities on a punnett square, you would find that the ratio of even tank matchups to uneven ones is actually worse in 6v6. Trust me, I’ve mapped it out. If you include columns and rows for both combinations of throwing tanks in 6v6 the ratio of even matchups (e) to uneven matchups (u) is 6e:10u or 1e:1.67u. If you only include one row and column for only one tank throwing, the ratio is 3e:6u or 1e:2u. This does not even factor in the difference in severe uneven-ness that occurs when both tanks on one team are throwing and neither tanks on the other team are throwing. In comparison, the 5v5 ratios are 2e:2u or 1e:1u. For those who do not understand I’ll put it simply. There are more uneven tank matchups for every even matchup with two tanks on each team rather than one tank as shown by the ratios. This is assuming that one tank on your team is obviously not doing well in comparison to the other tanks in the match which can and is mitigated by matchmaking.
Marvel Rivals has competitive games, and I can run it down with my tank duo where synergy is a mechanic. Blizzard just ignores people's feedback and just makes tank more unfun each season.

game never needed 5v5 for balance, they needed better employees who could balance 6v6.
And I believe the current team is able to get the job done even though they aren't many people

Been having loads of fun on every role especially tank ever since the 6v6 and havent been playing regular 5v5 since this came out.
i get wanting to chase elo but i don't see how it being quickplay makes people not want to play. I play both and it doesn't feel that much different

I'm already having a blast in 6v6. It feels so good and rewarded to make an aggressive play in Lucio than 5v5

The dps passive is already oppressive at 15% in 2-2-2. Having to buff it would make supports feel even worse. I don’t see how max 3 is gonna work. Triple tank and 30% dps passive is gonna feel bad
@Cruxis_Angel i play tank, at M1 level and i dont even think the passive is that oppressive in 6V6 because tank coordination can bypass it, but yeah i do feel like it is straddling the line of being overtuned which is kinda what i said above. It would have to be overtuned for dps to have a chance

I prefer 6v6 also, but with the current OW2. Meaning reworked hog, don’t switch him back to OW1 hog. Zarya has 2 bubbles either for herself or her team and not 1 and 1 etc.. 🤷♀️
I started playing Overwatch 2 when it came out and never played Overwatch one. So far I much more enjoy 5v5 but the game is so stale at this point I’m not really playing anymore.

I love 6v6 but I also don’t like that they had hero’s reverted, like hog. Don’t get me wrong I love old hog, but I’m not gonna flip back and forth between old and new to play 6v6 or 5v5 comp. Just let us try current hero’s in 6v6….

The problem is that if they add competitive 6v6, 5v5 is gonna be dead instantly. I would enjoy playing the game a lot more, but i bet blizzard is absolutely not gonna do it 😂
Tank in 6v6 is good but for supports is fucking nightmare LW is already dead and even more dead in 6v6 format but somewhat usable at most in a dive comp and there is just too little opportunity’s to do dmg as support and be a support not just a heal bot
Most of my tank games are ruined with one of the dps getting constantly killed before I even fire A Shot. Ppl understand dps as 'Damage Dealer' without even knowing that dps dmg sux comparing to tanks. I literally win only when I yell in voice on dps that if they feeds 1 v 5 one more time I will report them. I can easily get 3k each teamfight but seems like I need 4k without dying to progress in ranks..

For 5v5 they’ve gotta do better with balancing their characters. I think it’s better to nerf all hp back to what it was before and make tanks less health pool but stronger tanking abilities.

They absolutely do not need those back. Zarya is really good in the 6v6 test as is, and hog is only a problem in metal ranks because the people who play him there are awful at him.

Yeah he has an ego but he ain’t entirely wrong. More often than not your teammates will be complete 5hit. I’m barely average at this game and even I am baffled at how terrible my teammates are sometimes. Me personally I don’t find it fun at all sweating my balls off getting cortisol levels through the roof trying to carry a team.
At this point...i really don't care what direction Blizzard decided to do with Overwatch.
I gave up on this game. Even if they make 6v6 permanent.....they still suck at balancing there character or even listen to people feedback....and that does suck about Blizzard.
I feel like hazard is so much better in 6V6 because you can actually go in deep and get all the squishes while your other tank pressures the front, so either the off tank peels for the two supports you have in a chokehold and let the tank and dps 3V5 or they just let the supports get rolled 😊

Max 3 min 1 is gonna be a huge issue with either 3 tanks or 3 supports on the field, the supports just do way too much in this game they’re just better DPS most of the time with heals and sustain abilities

Every single point that cyx makes about 6v6 vs 5v5 is just not true.
1. He says at 6:10 that 6v6 metas are less stagnant and locked in. Simply not true. That was almost always the case in 6v6. There were years long spans where the meta characters would never change. Double shield, goats, D.va (in general), pig pull (hog orisa). High-ranked meta stagnation has nothing to do with format and everything to do with balance patch frequency. The more changes there are, the less concrete metas become.
2. Cyx also says that it becomes easier to carry in 6v6 than 5v5. Also not true. He cites that it’s because one shit player represents a smaller portion of the team. That’s true and makes sense but the inverse is also true. You as a player make up a smaller portion of your team, making it harder for you to carry your shit teammate.
3. Cyx also says that have a throwing tank on your team is less detrimental but this is also not true on a large scale. Yes, in a single game one throwing tank is easier to win with, but this does not consider all possibilities. If you chart the tank throwing possibilities on a punnett square, you would find that the ratio of even tank matchups to uneven ones is actually worse in 6v6. Trust me, I’ve mapped it out. If you include columns and rows for both combinations of throwing tanks in 6v6 the ratio of even matchups (e) to uneven matchups (u) is 6e:10u or 1e:1.67u. If you only include one row and column for only one tank throwing, the ratio is 3e:6u or 1e:2u. This does not even factor in the difference in severe uneven-ness that occurs when both tanks on one team are throwing and neither tanks on the other team are throwing. In comparison, the 5v5 ratios are 2e:2u or 1e:1u. For those who do not understand I’ll put it simply. There are more uneven tank matchups for every even matchup with two tanks on each team rather than one tank as shown by the ratios. This is assuming that one tank on your team is obviously not doing well in comparison to the other tanks in the match which can and is mitigated by matchmaking.
Marvel Rivals has competitive games, and I can run it down with my tank duo where synergy is a mechanic. Blizzard just ignores people's feedback and just makes tank more unfun each season.
Any tank main prefers 6v6 for A LOT of reasons
The main reason it has to be comp is for some reason people only want to watch comp even if it's a new gamemode.
