One of the best concerts ever. They talked to the crowd like we weren’t fans, but people. Lead singer is so cool. Dreads and tattoos..then they’d play. Talk to the crowd...then play again. A regular concert turned out to be almost 4 hours of just music and the band talking with the crowd. This was in small town Texas, maybe 5000 people. Way back when. One of the best bands I’ve ever seen. No glitz and glamour, just a band playing, talking to the crowd..excellent music. I’ll always be a Seven Dust fan.

      @Dmoe2600 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Though ‘99 was the best lineup out of all those, you could say they ranked in progression as well, where the next best was 2000. Slayer was at ‘99 as well as best Ozzfest 1st band opener ever, Static X on the smaller stage that was half out in the parking lot. A couple bands later, a little known band at the time took to the same stage, I’d never seen nor heard of them, all I’ve remember was the jumpsuits and crazy masks, and directly in front of my was this heavier set member with a clown mask and he was rocking the shit out of these trash cans on hydraulics going up and down. Needless to say the haleucinagenics

this song was a tribute to Lynn Strait, the lead singer of snot
Snot was a nu metal band that was coming up around the same time as Sevendust, Slipknot, Korn, Incubus, Sugar Ray, and so many other bands in the mid to late 90s, their first album was very succesful and while they were recording their 2nd album, Lynn and his dog dobbs died in a car accident.
2 years later, his band mates, along with their friends from other bands and even people they toured with came together to do guest vocals on the 2nd album as a tribute to him because a lot of people said he was a very likeable guy and one of the coolest people you could meet.
The boys of sevendust did this song originally on that album, but it was more acoustic and they wanted to re-record a version that was a little heavier for their album
the song is called Angel's Son because of Lynn's mother and the kind of person she was

Love this band! They are amazing live. Have to do Black and Denial. And Snot "Get Some". Considering this is a tribute to Snot's lead singer you have to listen to them.

13 albums late to the party...but still a pretty cool rockin' party. Go to the beginning. ..Black....Bitch....Terminator...the list is endless. Rock and soul like you never heard before...music to grow up to....a fan since '97. Sevendust has arrived!!!

Lajon's got pipes for sure...he is unique in being an African American metal vocalist but that's also what makes him special...in my opinion...he's got that soulful vibe. Angels Son is about Lynn Straight from the band Snot who died in an automobile accident in '98/'99 or so. Lajon, vocalist for Sevendust can definitely get more vocabulary aggressive but often choruses feature that soulful, bluesy amazing voice of his.
I don't know when this was but I'd recommend B*tch and Denial if you're looking for other Sevendust. B*tch was the first time I ever heard them and it's killer to this day!
And just to offer a suggestion on a react vid....Undying by Demon Hunter OR Thank God it's Friday by I.N.K aka Ice Nine Kills. Great video...I enjoyed it.
*edit* I totally forgot my favorite ATL artist THE LEGENDARY Butch Walker! Whether Marvelous 3 or Butch solo...AMAZING. In fact his tune ATLANTA might be perfect for you.

There was a legendary band from Cali called Snot, their singer tragically and untimely died, you’ll notice all the people in this video look possibly familiar, it’s Korn, Kittie, Slipknot, Deftones, and soo much more. This is dedicated to Lynn Straight, the singer of Snot.

Counting the days till the "Face to Face" and "Burning Beard" by Clutch reacts
Also there was someone who passed in front of camera near the start of the video. The back of their shirt read "In memory of Lynn Strait". Lynn Strait was the lead singer of Snot who died in a car crash

I went to their acoustic show/tour when it came through my area ...
So I thought they’d slow the songs down a bit (I hadn’t heard the material beforehand) ... boy, was I wrong. Same intensity, just on acoustics! It was a super interesting and amazing performance.

Snot is probably my most favorite underrated/little known band. Lynn is someone near impossible to replace but Snot did recently find a new lead singer. Anyways, I’ve seen Sevendust twice and they put on one of the most “electric” shows that I’ve ever seen.

They wrote this song as a tribute to Lynn Strait the lead singer of snot after he died in a car wreck and left behind his daughter Lajon Witherspoon and Lynn and Morgan and Clint were all really close so it hit them very hard when he died

One of those bands that I'll never understand why they didn't blow up in a really HUGE way. They've enjoyed moderate success, but nowhere near what I personally think they've deserved. Perhaps a bit before their time, because their particular style seems to be a lot more prevalent in the more successful bands of today (the last ten years or so anyway)...if that makes any sense.

Do a video on the band Snot and their only music video "Stoopid" by the way "Angel Son" has a different music video that involves the band Snot which the song is about the lead singer Lynn Strait which involves his Ghost and his Dog/band's Mascot Dobbs Ghost who both died in a car accident 25 years ago 12/11/98. Snot would've been the biggest band ever if you just listen to the instrumentals from the tribute album "Strait Up" and imagine Lynn's vocals 🤯🫠 their debut album is called "Get Some" and their last studio song is called "Absent" which is on The Strangeland soundtrack and there's a live album called "Alive" that has another song that was to be on their sophomore album called "Choose What?" but later changed to "Starlit Eyes" (featuring Serj Tankian of System of a Down) on the Snot tribute album"Strait Up".
Fun Fact: Snot's sophomore album was tentatively titled "Get Some More"
