A bit blurry at the point where you were showing the wrong undercut,. However, very interesting. Why would the gear have been miscut? Wrong model of XS650??
About to rip mine apart so thanks for the in depth walk through of everything. I’m from NZ and the shipping I’m gonna have to pay for any parts I need is almost as much as the parts. You have any places over the ditch there that are good for parts before I pull trigger on parts from the states?

If you know which parts you need it will make it cheaper than replacing both gear clusters. I may even have some bits lying around. I just don't have a complete set spare.

Those 3rd gear cogs are not the same, of course. One has a longitudinal groove which the other did not

@@2wheelworkshop I do need both shafts and all gears. I have an engine in boxes and the gearbox is missing!
