Good steel guitar work here by either Hal Rugg or maybe Curly Chalker, but it's not a crying steel. Crying is fairly rapid repeat of same note or sometimes two different notes, a picking technique adapted from playing mandolin. If you want to hear this song with a crying dobro there's a good version on YT by Greg & Teresa Watson. If you want to hear the daddy of the crying steel you can hear Roy Wiggins playing on the Carl Smith classic from the 50's "If Teardrops Were Pennies". Regards
Great. But nobody knows anything about when this song (what year) was originally recorded, if the brothers did a studio recording. If it was just for this television recording, what year was this? We never see that information much. Everyone likes a song, but we like to know more about it.
