2 minor points, the first set of Aligned Dinobots (FOC) didn't chose dinosaur modes, they were forcibly reformatted by Shockwave, in fact at least in Grimlock's case that's why he was less intelligent, Shockwave redirected energy away from Grimlock's brain to make him more powerful.
This was also where they first renamed Slag to Slug, not Age of Extinction.
It is also always amusing to me that they renamed/amalgamated him with Snarl in Animated when they then went on to have Bumblebee use the Slag as a curse word frequently.
So fun little fact about the Dinoforce: While they never formally became Autobots, at the end of Victory, they all basically turned on Deathsaurus and began helping the Earth for the trouble they caused.
The entire team turned good, not just Kakuryu.
They pretty much turned on Deathsaurus because he betrayed them and cast them aside, so it was a bit of pay back, sure they didn't join the Autobots but they pretty much return to being neutral and likely helping out on Earth was likely one to redeem themselves and two to earn Energon to stay functioning, sure the Autobots likely kept an eye on them but they can guess they weren't bad bots really just misguided, besides their main role at times was comic relief!!

Personal canon: there are in fact TWO teams of Dinobots. One is the original five (Grimlock, Slug, Sludge, Snarl and Swoop) in AOE toyline colors; the other is composed of all the nontraditional members of the team- Grimstone (PCC), Skarr (IDW/Evolution), Slash (POTP), Scorn (AOE), Paddles (that one text story), and Scowl (RID 2015).
Also, BW headcanon: After attempting insurrection against the post-war government to get the war going again, Grimlock was forcibly downsized into his Maximal body and paired with a band of Predacons led by Magmatron as punishment. He was initially quite bitter about it, but came to appreciate the company of Hydra, Archadis, Guiledart, and Killer Punch because they reminded him of his old team. He ironically found himself in the same role that Kup once was in- a storyteller recounting tales of his glory days to a new generation.
The second team should change Grimstone's name to Stone and make Paddles the leader. Then it would fit the naming convention of all the non-leader Dinobots having names that start with S.

Couple things you neglected to mention...
There was a G1 episode in season 3 where Sky-Lynx and Trypticon were also referred to as Dinobots. The plot of this particular episode was only effecting "Dinobots" which included anyone who had anything even remotely resembling a dinosaur beast mode. Sky-Lynx even got offended at being referred to as a Dinobot because he's so much more intelligent than the actual main Dinobot team.
You got through the entire episode without talking about Dinobot as a character rather than a group.
Also, Grimlock's whole origin in Cyberverse is that basically landed on Earth in prehistoric times, was separated from the other Autobots, and actually developed DID from the trauma he suffered during that time period. He even made friends with actual dinosaurs that happen to be the beast modes of his original G1 team. I actually personally love this new take on Dinobot because there are not a lot of characters in fiction who have DID and aren't villains.
Also there's a second team of Dinobots in Rescue Bots Academy you didn't mention which consists of Grimlock, Sludge, Snarl, and Slash. None of these characters ever transformed in the show at all, they were always in beast mode. Grimlock did have a toy which turned into a Motorcycle rather than a robot. Sludge and Snarl were repaints of Dinobot Heatwave and Chase. And Slash didn't even have a toy but her design was kind of a blind of PotP and AoE Slash mixed together. Hoist was also technically a Dinobot later in the series which was actually some character growth for him as Hoist starts off being afraid of Dinobots and later ends up scanning Grimlock when he gets his Multi-cog. Guess no one told him that Heatwave is also technically a Dinobot since the original Rescue Bots having beast modes is never mentioned in Academy.
I believe that G1 episode used the term "Primitives" for Sky Lynx and Trypticon, not Dinobots

I think in the FOC game, the Dinobots were a squad of autobots that were experimented on by Shockwave who turned them into dinobots
We did get Dinobots in Rescue Bots Academy as well, consisting of Grimlock (who is the RID 2015 Grimlock), Sludge, Slash (first cartoon appearance), & Snarl.
I think if we got a stego in Animated he'd be something like Spines, for the large hexagon plates on the back, like spines on animals.
I would like to see a full sized leader class Scar in studio series or legacy evolution
G1 Dinobots were in fact two teams. Grimlock, Slag and Sludge were the OG team and Snarl and Swoop made up a duo that original had to fight the originals. Of course this situation doesn’t last and we see all five being a team for the rest of G1 save the movie when Snarl was hanging with the Autobots on Earth. Swoop also had his own adventure on Cybertron with The Humans and Grimlock of course stopped hanging with the gang when he got smart for an episode.
Anyway, to this day I still consider Snarl and Swoop as the ‘new guys’ even though the debuted just a couple weeks after the original trio. It’s weird, that was almost 40 years ago but it stuck in my mind those couple of Saturday mornings.
As more figures get revealed, I'm slowly getting more interested in the tiny dinobots. Weird proportions alone, good combiner together.
The real kicker about the dimetrodons is that they're actually more closely related to us than to dinosaurs -- they're synapsids, like we are, while dinosaurs (and pterasaurs) are sauropsids.
FOC versions of the team was originally normal bots that was part of the Lightning Strike Coalition that walked into a trap set up by Shockwave, then they got experimented on and turned into creatures that Shockwave had seen through his space bridge
In Ireland and the UK, Slapper means the same thing as Slag.
Slash is a slang term meaning to relieve yourself.

I love the Ankylosaurus Tshirt that you were wearing in one of your recent videos.
It would be cool if we got a transformers series that focus on the dinobots but with some elements taken from beast wars series , were the Dinobots along with Skylinx and Alpha Trion hunt down the decepticon sub-faction the horrorcons.
The team would be composed by Apeface, Snapdragon, Skullcruncher, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, Kickback, Bombshell, Sharpnel, Scorponock and Shockwave.
After a battle both of their ships crash land on a planet with conditions similar to earth with various labs and temples hidden around the jungles, underground caverns and at the sea .
Aboard the Leviathan Shockwave's ship , he reactivates the rest of the horrorcons and some troops a would modified the T-cogs of the troops to give the beast modes to better adapt to the planet, while Alpha Trion Reactivates the Dinobots along with Skylinx and some troopers to battle Shockeaves forces.
As the battle goes on they would discover that the planet was colonised by Onix Prime and the Guardian Knights, with the purpose of creating new technologies for the cybertronian race like weapons and upgrades, but after sometime they would be attacked by the quintessons led by Desseus and his bodyguards the Seacons and his general Skybite leading hordes of Sharkticons and Alicons.
The war between the quintessons and Onix alongside the knights was brutal with then using many of the artifacts and upgrades to defend thenselves, while the quintessons used this war as a texting field for their super soldier experiments like the generals Deathsaurus and Gigatron (rid 2005 Megatron) and creating small armies like the G1 Predacons the feral gladiators , the g1 Terrorcons the technorganic monsters and the dreads the feral hunters enhanced with red energon.
The knights led by Onix and his generals Thunderhowl and souvereing would fight against the hordes of enemies but after some time gigatron and Deathsaurus stage a rebellion with deathsaurus taking the predacons and gigatron taking the terrorcons while the dreads went on theirs own . the quintessons in desperation try one last experiment to crush the rebellion and ended up transforming one of their ships into a living technorganic weapon called Tripticon with a massive arsenal and the ability to create troops of his own but as he awakens he goes on a rampage and kills most of the quintessons exept Desseus along with Skybite and the Seacons and damaging the quintessons control matrix with it was used to control their hordes of sharckticons and allicons who went feral and were absorbed by gigantron, Deathsaurus and the Dreads warbands.
As the battle goes own a massive cataclism would happen after a fight with Tripticon and the Knights that Tripticon caused by using his ability to cause massive storms and earthquakes forcing the Onix and his knights and the warbands go into hibernation on their ships even Tripticon became a victim of his own power and became traped under the sea with him creating the Monstructor six to go on a quest to find any artifact around the planet that could bring him back to full power.
And as Grimlock and Shockwaves groups arrive on the planet they fight against thenselves and the many sharkticon and allicon tribes for the relics left behind, they would slowly discover the ships of the knights and warbands and their troops as the battle would slowly get bigger with the ancient warriors reawakening to fight once more.
What do you guys think its kinda my own my own version of Beast Wars but with a twist that i used the g1 characters . Also sorry for my english i'm from Brazil.

I love the look of the shattered glass dinobots. I want them in the SS 86 molds, or new molds that are more correct to how paleontologists believe there bodies would have looked structurally. Like the kingdom Megatron, just all mechanical. That would be an awesome Grimlock retool/recolor. I've always thought that if the g1 story was rewritten better and more consistent, it would be cool when the story transitions out of the 80s into the 90s n 2000s that all of the characters would update their altmodes, including the dinobots to reflect new styles and new paleontological discoveries. 😃

Forgot Rescue Bots Academy. Which does take place in Aligned with FoC, Prime, Rescue Bots, and RiD 2015. It also hints that the Grimlock in RiD 2015 and RBA is a different character from the Grimlock in FoC.
Well, a new Transformer that turns into a Stegosaurus was supposed to be in RID, but Hasbro requested Grimlock to capitalize on Age of Extinction.
Once Studio Series '86 Swoop releases, people are going to expect the remaining AOE Dinobots and the FOC Dinobots to get figures

So most of the G1 Dinobots had they own personalities, Swoop showed his intelligence the 1st time they went to cybertron in G1, and all the others got caught. Desertion of the Dinobots Megatron had Soundwave do a personality scan on the original 3, and there they explained each of the originals personalities 🫡👍🏼💯✊🏼

Fall of cybertron was dark. Shockwave experimented on them, forced the dino alt modes. OH YEAH and they were "dumb" due to brain damage shockwave gave them. They were considered a smart elite squad before then.

You are correct that Dimetrodon is not a dinosaur. Spinosaurus is a dinosaur. By the way, both make excellent Dinobots along with the Ankylosaurus. Someone actually came up with new G1-style Dinobots based on a lot of prehistoric creatures. I'm sure they're still around somewhere.
You know how many not-Transformers transforming dino robot teams there are out there?? A jurassic ton. (usually consisting of almost always a T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Pteranodon, sometimes with a Brachiosaurus or Ankylosaurus)

It would be cool if in the future we got a new version of grimstone but instead of the random drones they use the newe members of the Dinobots like scar slash scorne and paddles as the arms and legs I think that would be a good alternative to doing a Dinobot combiner instead of forcing it into the original five

16:40 I hate the Dinobots in Age of Extinction, or rather how they were only in the last twenty minutes of a 165-minute movie.
Did they forget to flip down the Dino-legs in robot mode for Skarr?
Cyberverse did the dinobot toys dirty… the Grimlock was meh, the Slug was pretty good, the Sludge and Snarl only got “warrior class” and not full “deluxe class” toys, and Swoop… the best, most interesting member in this iteration… she had a terrible “1-step” level gimmick combiner mode with Bumblebee. She didn’t even really have a robot mode without Bumblebee… horrible.
"Duck" is also just one letter away from "Fuck", but I don't see people advocating to rename "Ducktales" to "Fucktales".
Renaming Slug was valid, and if it's really such an inconsequencial change, it shouldn't bother people so much.

Dinobot history always has some fun nuggets and story ideas. Like the Marvel comics, sent Shockwave and the Dinobots to the Savage Land. Or that the Predacons in Prime were considered the Cybertron equivalent of dinosaurs, an ancient species long extinct.
The Bayverse Dinobots I imagined as knights (which would have lead easily into the Last Knight) and form a faction of their own. They respect the command and conquer of the Decepticons, but follow the strength of Optimus, but only reluctantly. These Dino-knights would be different from Grimlock and the others, but familiar personalities.
I'd also toss in the Predacons from Transformers Go!. The Predacons are trying to revive their emperor (Predaking) and use smaller Terrorcon minons as foot soliders.
Every Dinobot TEAM, not individuals named Dinobot.
I guess spike would be a good name for a stegasaurs dinobot in transformers animated.
To this day I can't understand why they didn't give Slag a better name, if you want to keep the idea that all members except Grimlock have names that start with S, you could call him Slam, Stryke, Smash, Scowl, etc... but noooo, what better name for a fire-breathing triceratops than a snail without a shell?
Slug can also be short for Slugger, a heavy-heating boxer.

In rescue bots academy which is part of the align continuity btw has the Dinobots too (probably the same Dinobot team from the WFC/ FOC but with the newest team member Slash).
You also forgot about the fossilizers from the WFC Kingdom and Legacy toyline they're Dinobots (for the most part) but their alt modes resembling skeletal remains of prehistoric animals.
We've got three Tyrannosaurus's, one named paleotrex, another one named skelivore, Transmutate is also one of these three skeletal Tyrannosaurus's (at least in her current recent toy incarnation) (Transmutate is also one of the three female fossilizers), then you have a skeletal spinosaurus named spindle (spindle is also a female fossilizer along with vertebreak, we will get to her later).
Then you have two ceratopsian fossilizers one named ractonite he turns or it turns into a skeletal styracosaurus, the other ceratopsian fossilizer is named tricranous he turns into a skeletal tricartops. Then you have two Patchies fossilizers one named vertebreak and her mold mate Dracodon.
Then we have the last two fossilizers that are also dinobots but by association; one fossilizer named wingfinger he turns into a pteranodon, and the other one named masterdominus and he turns into a mastadon. Now with most of the fossilizers being weaponizers not only do they turn into weapons and armor but they also combine into a larger robot of a variety of configurations.
Phew, sorry if you halve too read all that.
It's specifically factions or groups officially called Dinobots, not any dinosaur Transformer, so no Fossilizers, which is a group that also includes a mammoth.

But if you were (hypothetically speaking) made a video about the predacons and or the maximals at some point in your life would the fossilizers be included aswell? (well probably except for both masterdominus and spindle cause their back stories are mostly unkown aside from joining the autobot wrecker team at somepoint in their life 🤔)

PotP Slash's only apprarances in fiction have been in the Legenda and Generation Selects mangas where she's much more smaller than the core team, so kiiiiinda.
