    Iloilo City -> capital of Iloilo Province
    Iloilo Province -> one of the provinces on Panay island (Panay Provinces: Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz)
    the new developments are nice but Iloilo is known for Spanish era churches and stone houses...

    I've driven the mountain route between Antique and Iloilo several times. The roads are pretty good and it really cuts down on the travel time, plus the views are amazing. However, I've always done it in a car or van! Takes less than 2 hours if you really step on the accelerator. Can't even imagine how it would be on a bike, though. That's a whole other level!

    Hello.. Welcome to Iloilo City, the capital of the Province of Iloilo. We only have 2 cities in the Province of Iloilo. Iloilo city and Passi City. Was excited to see our office bldg where you stopped by to check your GPS or something. It's the Richmonde tower beside the ILOILO CONVENTION CENTER. 😍Enjoy your stay in the city of Love. Yes, highly recommended Muelle Loney Deli. 😋 And the famous Tatoy's Seafood.

    My wife and are planned a two month trip to the PI. Looking at all that rain I'm glad we postponed it to October. Here in Rosarito Beach, Baja Norte, Mexico (just across the border from San Diego) we haven't seen a drop of rain since May. If San Diegians had four days of even cloudy weather they would think the world is coming to an end.

      My father’s hometown is San Jose . Antique. I went to school there when I was in grade 3 but because my father was in the airforce we move back to Pasay City. Never been back to visit until Jan 2019, just before the lockdown due to pandemic I hope to go back in 2023 or 24. Your video reminded me of our long drive from Iloilo to San Jose and back, a day trip. It was tiring but I think we were able to hit most of picturesque places. I live now in San Diego Ca, and wishing I could go back and take a long vacation and live like a local.

    I know it is difficult to always do but a good rule to follow in photography is "follow the sun". Everything looks better (and happier) when the sun is out. The sun adds pop to pictures. Notice that you'll never see a professional picture or video by the tourist bureau or resort when the sun isn't shining, and especially of beach resorts. That's why low season is always the rainy season. Notice that Rick Steve's, the grandfather of travel videos, always shoots his travel videos during the sunny and dry season.

      @@wavemaker2077 Hahaha! For the Bacolod city and Negros Occidental... Yes! The Hiligaynon there has wavey tone, alot of ups and downs and sounds 'Mayaman' or 'Sosyal'... Which, most Ilonggos (from Iloilo) don't like... Guimaras, I think most of the island uses the Iloilo hiligaynon. Since, most of the Guimarasnon are working in Iloilo city... Capiz... Capiznon, uses 85% hiligaynon words with additional local words... plus the additive 'jai!'. And, very ironic... only 25% to 30% of the Iloilo province uses Hiligaynon (it includes Iloilo city, Dumangas town, Ajuy town and few Northern towns); majority uses their kinaray-a dialects...

    Capital of Iloilo province is Iloilo city, sir... Btw, miss Bianca... Welcome to another (2 languages!) Kinaray-a of Antique and outer towns of Iloilo and Hiligaynon of Iloilo city... Hiligaynon language is the reason why Iloilo city carries its ads line - City of love.

    • @wavemaker2077
      @wavemaker2077 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why is the language called Hiligaynon and not Ilonggo?

    • @henceldeanon9233
      @henceldeanon9233 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wavemaker2077 I don't have any idea why they called the language as Hiligaynon. I only knew that it is (hiligaynon) is a variant of Kinaray-a from Antique. Since, hiligaynon originate from the Chinese community of Molo, in the history. The Chinese, then, find it difficult to pronounce the 'r'. So, they change it to letter 'l'. E.g. kararaw-kalalaw (woven bamboo), baringon-balingon (anchovies), garinga-galingan (milling station), etc. If you wish to speak kinaray-a in general way, just change the 'l' to 'r' of the hiligaynon and vice versa. Ilonggo are the people living in Iloilo city and province. Just like Ilocano-Ilocandia, Bicolano-Bicolandia... Guimaras, Capiz, Negros Occidental and Bacolod city are not Ilonggo; yet, they speaks Hiligaynon dialects...

    • @wavemaker2077
      @wavemaker2077 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@henceldeanon9233 Nice explanation there about the l and r.
      Btw, Cebu speaks Cebuano. The people of Davao are not Cebuano and yet they speak Cebuano. The same logic should apply to Ilonggo. The people of Negros are not Ilonggo (are they really not Ilonggo?) but they speak Ilonggo. Btw, I have a friend from Bacolod and he considers himself as Ilonggo.
      When did this Hiligaynon word come out? My father is actually from Guimaras (though I've never been to Guimaras and I don't speak Ilonggo) and he considers himself as Ilonggo. Growing up, I never heard the word Hiligaynon.

    • @henceldeanon9233
      @henceldeanon9233 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wavemaker2077 Davaoeños and Northern Mindanao (Butuan and CDO cities) speaks Bisaya. Though, bisaya also refers to people speaking bisaya/cebuano, including the Cebuanos. Since, bisaya is a dialect come from cebuano. And, now they are conflicting of who is the language and the dialect. Negros people are proud Negrense. And, I aware of that they call their dialect as Ilonggo. (And we, as people living in Iloilo is trying correct. But, unfortunately they wont listen. Maybe they are trying to develope their own identity just to avoid connections to Iloilo). They called themselves as Ilonggo (including the province of Guimaras). My assumption is that they are referring to their lineage (as we know, that some people in Negros Occidental and Guimaras came from Panay island through Iloilo city, just to occupy the place and to plant sugarcane - sugar route). Same as what happen the South Cotabato (many Ilonggos there speaking Hiligaynon, developing their own dialect).

      We had one for a while but you can't fly on Boracay without an expensive permit and only one time use for an approved event or hotel advertising. Plus the airport near. In angles the airport had the sky blocked, manila bay the USA embassy had it blocked. Then rain ect. It's just been difficult to get to use it

    Iloilo City and the province is called Iloilo Province in the island of Panay. Panay Island has 4 provinces Iloilo, Antique, Capiz & Aklan. Guimaras was the 5th before but they separated. Iloilo Province and the city is Iloilo, Antique Province and the city is San Jose, Capiz Province and the city is Roxaz & Aklan Province the city is Kalibo.

    Guys, it’s rainy season in the PI right now, the wrong time to travel. It starts in June and ends towards December, around November, then the rest is dry season and you start all over again. That’s also the typhoon season there as well so please be careful. Next time, try to time your travels during the dry season instead. Just FYI.
