In a way THE WALTONS done in this way describing family life with all the good and bad sides and including the hartships of the time was a a trendsetter for many other shows like in WAREHOUSE 13. Jack Kenny one of the leading Producers always made it a point to bring out the actors on in the stories as a family. That explains The Waltons déjà vus I had watching that Fantasy Show.

Amen Amen Amen. Please writers get on the ball for something worth watching with one's family. Lots of laughter, some Faith, lots of respect for parents, families eating at the table together and having nice conversations and saying grace before meals teaching children how to be grateful for what they have and not to grumble and disrespectful to their parents and elders. It's so lovely to see that kind of life and it is real life teachings. No cursing around the home. Children doing chores and using their time constructively and not glued to a television set instead of completing chores and their homework. I could go on and on.

Of course, we said this while in bed and after lights out. Drove our parents crazy. But we heard them one night talking to a neighbor friend and they were laughing about it too. The Waltons was inspirational and beautifully made TV programme that is still highly relevant today. I watch it daily and it’s is amazing how the episode of the day will parallel the world situation in our time. The acting was consistently outstanding, the stories so real and easy to relate to and it presented the deep spiritual values of my upbringing and many Canadian even now. It’s way at the top of the list if not #1 in television history! We need more like it now, where faith, Hope and love and mutual respect for each other is lived out daily by our society!

    Humbly I must say,
that I was blessed to be a cast member on The Waltons for 3 seasons and l looked forward, every single day, to the fun and the camaraderie that was always there.
My role was the Walton family’s favorite Radio Star,
    the Singing Cowboy,
    BOBBY BIGELOW.
All the music that you heard us perform was performed LIVE just as you saw it on film. No pantomimes or lip syncs.
The producers had insisted that I be responsible for hiring the real musicians to be my band THE HAYSTACK GANG.
So I hired my longtime friend and amazing musician, Billy Graham, to play the fiddle.
Billy was also the fiddler for Glen Campbell and after appearing on The Waltons in several episodes, he was unable to make our filming schedule because he was on tour with Glen.
So I was fortunate enough to locate the perfect person to fill the role. The man who could play the fiddle super well, and also look the part of a classic Country Music Fiddler was Oscar Whittington.
Oscar Whittington, from Bakersfield, was a true
Classic Country Music Fiddler of the Highest Caliber.
Sadly, both of those wonderful men, who never failed to delight us with their fiddle playing, deserve to be a part of this
“Tribute to the Cast Members who have gone on to their
    ETERNAL
    BLESSED REWARDS”. 🏆🥇

I also love Judy Norton´s background stories to series and actors. She brings them on TH-cam with so much passion for the series, intelligent, detailed qnd inforamtiv details without dropping in the trap like for example William Shatner in his STAR TREK memoiies becomming too negativ. Judy Norton brings those details with so much dignity that you simply have to listen with respect for her as an old hand - insider, artist and nowday herself director and producer.
And also she answers all of the sincere put in questions and requests with much emphaty for the Users of her blog.

Very well said! Judy Norton’s channel about The Walton’s is must see for all that loved and still love The Walton’s. She does an excellent job explaining background information we’d never hear elsewhere.

I bought a couple of seasons online DVDs, I'd rather watch these over and over than the family shows they put out nowadays

Nice video, but missing a few things! Mary Jackson was left out as Miss Mamie Baldwin, who also did commercials for Hidden Valley Ranch. One of Ralph Waite's final roles was as Father Matt on NBC's soap Days of Our Lives. Lastly - although you don't hear that name too often in modern times it should be pronounced as "byoo-lah"!

I noticed they missed Mamie Baldwin. How could you mention one sister an not the other.. i know shes not still alive! And what about MR an MRS Godsey...not a complete video!

I adored the Baldwin sisters! And boy I’d like to try some of the “recipe”! Hehe
The Walton’s was the best show on tv ever! I’m so glad it’s on reruns daily. People need to watch it to calm themselves down. It does that.

@@SummerRain368 Oh Miss Mamie and Miss Emily always captured me - Emily was so endearing with her memories of Ashley Longworth Jr. They kissed one time under and oak tree was it? When the leaves were yellow and rained down on them, don'tcha know.

I used to watch this and enjoyed it, i dont believe it would fly today as modern audiences couldnt relate to such hard times and the ability to overcome.
