"Sometimes reasonable men have to do unreasonable things" -Marv
"God built me for this." May we all have insight to see what we are each built for.
My family owns property close to grandby Colorado, I remember seeing the aftermath one year when I was headed up there. Dudes a bit of a hero in rural Colorado.
You guys have to watch the full documentary. He documented everything on tape, and audio tape. It's absolutely insane. The documentary is called "don't tread on me"
I never knew there was a documentary about this. I definitely remember this story being on the news.
The documentary is called "Tread" and its was proven to be a twisted version of the truth by the channel The Lore Lodge. The owner of "sky hi news" was the main writer for the doc and he stretched and warped the events. If you watch Tread, watch lore lodges video on the documentary to get the full context
Dozer should have been put in a museum!!
THey never will. It is not the first or only time companies and powerful connected families have pushed people too far, even just here in Colorado. Look up a little mining town called Ludlow, and the military killing dozens of civilians who just wanted fair wages.
They were so scared of it when they had it destroyed they separated the parts into different junkyards
“I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.”

Not all heros wear capes, some drive Komatsus. RIP Marv.

Dave, what you described with that cottage and the old couple - is called taking property by "eminent domain" here in the U.S.
It’s also called f-ing people over in either country
The corruption in Colorado has been bad most likely from the begining. Living in Longmont Colorado at the time, I had witnessed a number of outrageous illegal activities. When this happened I was working on a large jobsite and almost everybody was cheering for him. My Father in Law had his business property in Denver that employed 0ver 50 tradesmen that were well paid, eminent domained. They built a Target that doesn't pay people crap.

LEGEND!!!!!!!!
The government here in the U.S can do the same with property called Imminent Domain.
I’m a southerner from the US, and something jumped out at me watching this. When someone sneezes here it’s customary to say, “bless you”. Even if it’s a complete stranger. If my girlfriend sneezed and I just didn’t say anything…………at the VERY least I’m getting a side eye. 😂
I'm in the upper Midwest and when I was in highschool, if one of us in my friend group sneezed and you didn't say "thank you" in response to "bless you", you'd get sooo much shit for it (mostly as a joke). No tolerance for the ill-mannered 😂
I never say anything because it's ridiculous. It's not polite, it doesn't help out the person in any way.
@@user-Mike8290saying "thank you" and "you're welcome" doesn't help anyone either. But we do it because it's polite.
@@user-Mike8290 awww, bless your heart
RIP Saint Heemeyer!
Bless you Ash! 😀
went out like a champ. you should review " sky king " ... i think that's what it's called... this guy stole a alaska airlines plane and flew around
Marv was the definition of fuck around and find out.
I was only 13 but the story was all over the news here in Colorado. My friend and I thought it looked cool 😂
If you guys like watching stuff like this, a great channel for it is Count Dankula!
Worth mentioning that he was the only person who told the story that way. The entire town thought he was nuts.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some drive bulldozers
In Phoenix, AZ in the US my Great Grandfather owned a 4 unit apartment complex near downtown.
For years they had machinations to build interstate 10 down a road that would require he sell his property, but he always refused. He died in '73 and they used "eminent domain" our version of "compulsory". My family got nothing.
5:25 , Bless you.

Cute shirt Ash!
Bless you my dear!😅
I went thru Granby yesterday on the train 😂
I watched a documentary on this called Tread. It tells the story in a lot more detail. I watched it on Tubi.
I love Tubi!
@@sergioomar9090 me too!
If you guys want a great subject for a video, Google 'Bath School Disaster.' This is about a man who snapped in one of the worst mass murders in American history, and is largely forgotten today.
This is random but when yall sneezed it made me wonder if yall know the trick to avoid sneezing. We had like a 7th grade teacher that said "think of a woman in a black dress" i dont remember if she said close your eyes but i close my eyes and think of a woman in a black dress which is usally her just because thats who comes to mind. I swear it works and i would say i prevent almost all of my sneezes. Im not sure but apparently its because your thinking of something so specific it lets you avoid the need to sneeze.
Locally he is on the list of outlaws. Criminals everyone agrees weren't wrong
There is a great documentary on this.
Hey ash Dave have long have u been engaged? Oh is it a secret ? Hey ash a shout out for a new subscriber?
Marv is the man
maybe he should change his cologne😃😃😃😃😃😃
Badass nerd like it
Fuck around and push the wrong person, terrible results, but it is what it is

Best to prepare for the afterlife folks. We are now living in the days described in Matthew 24...

Persecutions Are Coming
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless[a] as doves.
--Romans 12:19_New King James Version
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

They were all assholes. His neighbors offered him over 5.9 times what he paid for his property. Then he asked for 23.8 times what he paid. He couldn't have expected them to be amenable to his request. So, I'm not surprised they made it difficult for him. Sure, he caused some damage, but insurance paid and the plant was able to expand. It's never smart to move in a mess with established people.
He should have gotten a real estate lawyer in the first place to advise him on the easement rights of the property he was buying. He wanted what he had no legal right to.
Yes. The offered him way over what he paid. But some people stand on principle. If I have the money, do I have a right to what you own? Or, on a different subject, is it wrong that you can never actually own land? 🤷♂🤷♂
Hey everyone in the comments I found the POS
@@KAP814 You have your rights and your neighbors have theirs, but if you buy a piece of property without the needed easements, it leaves you at the mercy of those who own the property upon which the easements you might need cross. It's up to them to grant you such rights after the fact or not. Buy the property with the easements and it isn't an issue.
Get a good lawyer before purchasing, especially with commercial property.
You must be a child.
He bought bare land as a repossession, which is cheap. Then built two buildings and was operating a business. Most businesses are worth 10-20 years of their profit. $375k was perfectly reasonable.
@@lumina1104and you clearly didn't listen to the facts the previous property owner didn't have an easement for utilities because apparently they didn't need to be connected the city council moved the goalposts after their buddy who wanted the land didn't get it just like they changed the planning rules to allow him to cut the access road to Marv's property. Yes Marv could have sold the land at a profit left and started again somewhere else and it would have been the sensible option but when a man is pushed into a corner by bullies his response may well not be the sensible one.
The music in the video is so bad and distracting 🙄
