Nice!! Hey it will be a great display piece AND something that cats won't be able to push off the shelf! Thank you for showing us love the bloopers too. 😃
Wow, what a treasure! I wouldn't have left it either. If I had found it and couldn't bring it back with me, somebody would have found my remains, with my arms wrapped around it.
Great rock Katie, Jim’s laugh is a crack up. Thank heavens you said, hello rockers, for a fraction of a second I thought you were going to say hello fockers, I think that would have left Jim on the floor. I can see that rock on a “ lazy Susan” somewhere on display so you can turn it and always fund something new. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Such an awesome stump to have found!! I remember seeing you find it. Thanks so much for the enjoyment while I fold my laundry! Love you for it! You rock!!
I don't blame you one bit for not being able to leave the beauty behind! I wouldn't not have been able to leave it either! I love your videos! Keep up the great work and keep making people happy!
Was waiting to see this one! I was so excited when you found that big hunk of wood! Really cool with the light shining through the agatized areas, that is just beautiful! Nice blooper reel at the end, wasn't expecting that but it made me laugh when you said "Hi rockers, oh wait no thats stupid!" LOL
Oh Kate how those words echoed in my memory banks: "Oh, yeah.... this is coming home with me". But the best part about not being able to collect any longer: it does not take three days for my back to recover. Fantastic slabs... looking forward to seeing those polished. I have a number of "logs" that big and a little bigger, including three Arizona rainbow wood logs. I do the same as you in leveling off the bottom. If the top is fairly even, I take a MK Wet Electric Polisher and use the steel grinding wheel to smooth it out and then spend the hours with the velcro pads. And yes, it is a great idea to glue some felt to the bottom.
It really is! I was a little underwhelmed with the interior, but since I didn't really want to cut a bunch of slabs anyway, it was all good - and when I shined a light behind it, wow! :)
Beautiful! I would make it part of a light base with the light behind one of the slabs you took off. That would show off the amazing color inside that awesome stump!
Hi Katy, I’m new to your channel and just wanted to say, that stump would make an awesome centerpiece on a shelf. I’m sure you will find a place for it. I really love it.❤️
I am so sorry that I missed your live last night! Was going to be my first. I didn't get in until 18 min in but it was over. I promise to make the next one!!!
I have a piece of petrified wood, not quite as large as yours. i cut the end off of it too and it is setting on a display table in my room. yours is beautiful.
Amazing stump and those slabs are so beautiful. You should polish the bottom with your angle grinder then it will show the rings and you won't have to put soft pads on it
Wow! That Is so Beatiful And the slices are cool in the light. I think a peace ot walnut or myrtewood base on the bootom would look great. I still can’t get over how cool the slices are. To bad you wouldn’t want to part with a slice or two, I would Love a slice. Great video and what a grand piece of Pet-wood.
At first I thought that stump had put down roots! But "KatyDid" get it out! I think a trip to the garden center for some soil and root stimulator is in order. Great video btw!

Nice!! Hey it will be a great display piece AND something that cats won't be able to push off the shelf! Thank you for showing us love the bloopers too. 😃

Right? I was surprised. :)
Loved the color when it was up in the light👍
It's interesting how something so plain can turn so beautiful.
Wow!! Kate vs the rock monster. You did a beautiful job and it was just what I would have done. Fantastic!!

It looked like you were holding a piece of ember when you held the light behind it! Very nice find!
Outtakes had me in stitches. We have something in common-many projects always going on at one time. 🎨 Happy painting!
So, SO many projects!

That's beautiful! As you rotated it, the long flat side of the stump looked like the escarpment to me. I'm glad you kept it whole. Good job!

That slab would look beautiful mounted on a nice piece of wood with a light bulb behind it - a gorgeous table light!
I think so too!
I'm so glad you left it as a big beautiful chunk.the slabs weren't very interesting until you put light behind then and then wow!
Sometimes rocks should stay in one piece. :)
Super cool 😊
What a great yard rock
Yes, or possibly a door stop. :D
That's absolutely gorgeous. Find of a lifetime. ❤
It really is cool, I have to say.

Beautiful! I would make it part of a light base with the light behind one of the slabs you took off. That would show off the amazing color inside that awesome stump!
I am working on something for a maker's challenge - I may incorporate this slab.
Wow! When you showed the slab with the light behind it.... Oh My Bananas!!!!!!!!!! That’s gorgeous!

Awesome find, Katie! The slabs were average until you put a light behind them! Great outtakes!
Yeah, I wasn't very impressed with the "inner beauty," but that light - wow!
very cool

Me neither. :)

That's a great saw you've got a flat side now you could turn it 90 degrees and cut along the grain
I could - but I think it's cool enough I'll just leave it as a specimen.

Sweet rock. Looks like "The thinker".
Hmmm, I'll have to look at it again. :D
Kate, you're doing great so I will pray for that one unhappy soul who always gives you a thumb down.🙏
