  • If your scooter brakes are squishy, but you know the brake pads aren't worn down. This could be worth trying before you end up bleeding your brake lines entirely.
    *Contact your reseller for a brake fluid kit, if you can't get one, this one should work, but it does NOT come with mineral oil to fill your lines. You'd need to purchase that separately.

    Wanted to thank you sir for all your great videos. I have purchased many scooters from William and sincerely enjoy our Turbo Wheel Phaetons. With thousands of miles racked up, they have performed fantastic with range, comfort, and sheer performance across the board. I encourage anyone looking for a solid stable ride to consider the 11x since turbo wheel does not offer it in this form with the battery upgrade and nutt brakes being the main differences. It is however not one to easily transport because of its larger stable size and weight. Better suited to ride out from your house👍. Also working on custom 3d printed parts soon for it such as light holders, fender systems, front air cowlings, speaker mounts, etc....Anyhow, keep up the great work👍much appreciated by so many viewers.

    This is the procedure that solved my problem with a weak rear brake. I tried the bleeding procedure with 2 of these syringes but that didn't solve it all. The trick is pull the brake lever while having 1 syringe connected and then add some fluid. Worked great! Thanks.

    Hi ginger, great video! I have just bought a zero11x with 400miles on thr clock it has the zoom brakes and really dont seem very good, i have to really pull them on hard to stop! the back lever come almost all the was to the grip, would you say this is due to low hydraulic oil/pads or are the zoom brakes just not very good?

    • @klg1001
      @klg1001 ปีที่แล้ว

      The zoom brakes aren’t bad. When mine were new they had very little travel to the lever (maybe 1/2”-3/4”) and you could easily stop the heavy scooter with one finger on each lever.

    This was perfect, I'm semi lazy and after watching 2 other videos on this realized I don't even have brake pad blocks. I don't know how this method compares to the videos where they took off the brake pads and bled it from both ends of the brakes. But, I did this and mine went from barely being able to stop from going 5mph to the brakes feeling like when I got the scooter. Even if I gotta do this once a month I'm good. With this now I'm wondering why the hell the other videos showing this have so many more steps.
    Thanks for the video sir.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This works if the air in your lines is towards the top of the scooter. If you've got air bubbles mid line somehow, or near the bottom, then bleeding works better (but harder and more time consuming for sure)

    FYI - I have squishy brakes with a Kaboo Mantis (semi-hydraulic) with plenty of the original brake pad left and about 170 miles on it. Did brake cable adjustments and still nothing, it was either way to much or not enough. I ended up replacing the brake pads and the results are night and day. It's back to how it was when it was new.
    I would guess that the pad material had deteriorated to perform properly.
    FYI - I wrench my own vehicles, and it's stupid to think that what I did worked, but you need to try it for yourself.

    Another old school dirt bike trick is to pull your lever tight and put a zip tie around your lever and bars holding it tight overnight. It forces any air from the lines up to the top and gives your levers a nice firm feeling. Trust me this works.

    Hey man, I’ve followed the exact same method you have used 3 times now, and my front brake it STILL spongey, I cannot work out for the life of me why it’s doing it. I had a shed load of air come out and I carried on pumping the brake for a while just incase there was an air bubble further down but nope, full pressure. As soon as I put the screw back in the reservoir and pull the brake in it’s spongey again, the bolt that holds the brake line onto the front caliper was slightly loose so I bought some safety torque keys, used those to tighten the bolt and tried to bleed the brake again, but nope still no luck, I am out of ideas, any help would be appreciated 👍🏼 cheers. Weird... if it's not the brakes it's probably just the natural resistance of the electric motor. Maybe bearings, but then you'd hear funky noises coming from the wheel when it was spinning, like a click or grind.

    Ginger ... this is not proper. The squeezing / pressure is creating tiny effervescent bubbles. For a lever bleed your not supposed to squeeze in any brake fluid into the brake reservoir. Simply pump your lever and as the air bubble comes out, the fluid via gravity will pour in.
