Like Goods train model, ships can try in inland water transport... But need equipied ports, well planned schedule and a logistics eco system for on time delivery.
If raw materials and finished products can transport in water ways.. It will be big revolution in cost of products in india. It will reduce the traffic in roads & pollution also
