There is just something off about movies these days, they all feel extremely low budget in my opinion, idk if its the availability making them be soo bad
Low budget isn't bad, it's the clear low effort that keeps me away. This movie feels like some executive reached into a bag of buzzwords and pulled out JLo, AI, and Mecha and told someone to make a movie about it.
They dont take 1-3 years to put effort into a movie anymore, nowadays they either just work on the script for barely a year, and finish production and filming in just under a couple of months. They aren’t trying anymore, just trying to rack in as much cash from the box office that they can and hope they break even.
The major glaring issue I had with this movie was DISTANCE. Leaving not just our solar system, but our galaxy to chase an aberrant android: 2½ MILLION light-years away with millions of stars & planets to peruse in just Andromeda's nearest quadrant. Logistically leaving our system for the nearest star (Proxima), here in our Milky Way, is slightly less outlandish at 4 light-years distance. However the Jovian moons would hold an actual proximate potential threat. Leaving the system says "I'm done; doing me now, leave me be 'cause coming back at you ain't worth my time.
Budget & script would have better served a live "Exo-Squad" movie. The exo-frame's Ai's sudden self-awareness & forcefully ejecting the pilot in self sacrifice was awesome. "Farewell operator JT Marsh." (Of course I hoped it uploaded its core memory B4 destruction).
I watched this movie on a whim, not knowing that JLO was being cancelled online these days (from the 90s and grew up knowing JLO as Jenny from the block) and I actually cried at the end of the movie (I am also incredibly sensitive and receiving therapy for it lol). I mean, it's not a ground breaking movie but I think it's alright for the average viewer. And I never realised JLO's incredible cheekbones until this movie.
One important thing people are missing out from this movie is that the plot completely falls apart when you find out it was Atlas fault harlan went rouge in the first place and She knew that information and still goes on a mission to capture Him so the army can find out the answer to a question she already knows🤷🏽♂️. That’s what the whole movie is about. She had each and every one of those Mech marines aboard that ship DOA. Whatever picture they tried to paint her character as she definitely wasn’t a victim, as a child she was, but as an adult data analyst for the space military you’d think sharing important information would be a key element of her job especially when it’s crucial information on a mission she’s actually on. The character was more than reckless in this movie and instead of receiving a happy ending and mech suit she should have been arrested at the end.
I was just scrolling back through your videos and I realized I’ve been watching for 5 years!!! Thank you so much for your well thought out breakdowns, your opinion is so valuable to me! Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re the best:)
I don’t think I’ve seen any of the last like 10 movies J-Lo has been in. God I remember that one with Owen Wilson, that one was so bad I’m glad I didn’t see it. Which sucks because I love Owen Wilson!
Her movie SHOTGUN WEDDING was actually pretty funny in a “Sandra Bullock” movie kind of way. And she looked great in HUSTLERS. I love Owen Wilson as well but I’m always saddened by the reasons why he had to be recast in TROPIC THUNDER by McConnehey. Seems to be mostly forgotten but I’m glad he pulled through and is still around.

I just finished watching it and actually liked it. Its not the strongest with some of its writing as it seems to really be focused on Atlas and smith with Atlas overcoming her trauma. But I actually really liked that part. I like how they eventually reveal all that guilt she has and the reason behind her trauma. I think that was really well done and the actress' performance was great as well. Evil AI bro lacked for sure/all the villians but I mostly focused on her inner struggles rather than it being the hero arc stuff.
I blame the success of Transformers, the Fast and Furious, and Snyderverse for the state of cinema today. I think writers and studios feel like "if those guys can keep making movies and still make money... then our movies can perform"
To me it was a mesh of Alien, Avatar, Robocop, Terminator and Baymax 6...it's a good movie but for the life of me!, all those crying scenes and Jlo only to shed a few tears once!!! 🤯
I came here to see how the movie ended because I got bored half way through. The terminator poses and the constant swearing for effect and the wooden characters around the strong woman trope, with a bit or iron man CGI sewn in. A lot of info dumping, which is what Hollywood scripts seem to be doing these days. I'm surprised we didn't get the classic 'Save The Cat' moment. Where are the great directors like Alfred Hitchcock who would kill the star in the first scene and you never knew what was coming next? Come on Netflix, show us something original! I would love to see what you thought of Jeanne Du Barry as I felt that the script was sadly lacking. Your review was excellent!
There's this scene where one minute they are on earth and then somehow they are at Alpha centuri or something ... How long did it take to reach there ? !
Too bad you didn't mention how in Mass Effect, Commander SHEPARD can choose to get inside any unpiloted ATLAS mechs. Also Lana Parilla killed it as the mom, so I wanted her consciousness to be inside Simu Liu -- for a 2 hour movie it was way too cookie cutter and not enough Lana. PS your puns are awesome!
As a vfx artist (rip my industry) hearing the director say hat theyjust stuck cameras on jlo, didnt even give her an eyeline and just "invented everything in post".... I know them artists were piiiiiiisssed lmao but at least they are still working lol
I don't think a lot of people are getting what is going on with these streaming movies. These movies aren't made to make money, but to get views. This movie got 28 million views in the first three days. Netflix, and other streaming companies are competing for views, because views equate to revenue through subscriptions. The bad press isn't a deterrent either. This movie received tons of publicity and any publicity is free advertising. We are talking about it here for example. A lot of people are going to watch this because of the bad press just to see what all the fuss is about. People love train wrecks. All of this keeps people on Netflix and off of the other streaming sites. That is the name of the game in streaming. Let's face it; no one can afford to go see movies in the theater anymore and the streamers know it. Low-hanging fruit is still fruit and equates to views.
I watch the movie I honestly like it and I did cried at the end of it. I’m a very sensitive person so yea. I thought it was pretty good. I really the AI Smith
I dont know u guys but i see a littleTerminator, Alien, Avatar, Megan, Matrix.... and why the hack they name the AI robot 'SMITH'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on.....
am i the only one who genuanly likes the film? i mean ye its a pretty much edge of tommorow but *futuristic* i mean the robot is cool but yea whole story she no like ai she stuck with ai she likes then get attached to ai and yea ai she likes now
What Netflix movie/show should I do next?
THREE BLIND MICE (2023) on Tubi. Just kidding, that movie’s terrible.
Baby Reindeer. It’s so good, period, but the fact that it came from Netflix blew my mind.
xmen97
Shogun, I got so many ads for it and it’s nowhere near anything I typically watch
Dead boy detective plse
“I was sobbing” there was not one tear that came out of her in that movie
she's such a liar
She did shed a few tears once but only when she was tied on that flatbed 😂
Most women lie to most people about most things most of the time. A lying woman should be no surprise to anyone ... except other women ...
I think the one that make her sobbing that she broke her leg for the first time in history😂
apparently you weren't listening 🤣 she said when she first READ THE SCRIPT.
NT when she acted in the movie.
js 🤷♂️🤦
There is just something off about movies these days, they all feel extremely low budget in my opinion, idk if its the availability making them be soo bad
It reminds me when it was Covid and everybody was on lockdown and it’s you see the same people in the background on everything I get it
Effects were okay... the script was written by a 12 years old.
Straight to streaming is the new straight to dvd

"My mother was researching AIs in the Amazon jungle before she died."
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Please 😭😂
Sterling on the press run has been hilarious 😂
I LOVE him 🤣🤣🤣🤣
this movie looks offensively bad i’m crying i can’t believe sterling k. brown is in it
a million dollar check plus royalties speaks volumes lol
Never get tired of hearing "Let me explain"👌🏽
and LISTEEEENNN!!
Lissttteennnn😂
Same here
As someone who saw the movie, this WILL save you 2 hours.

I liked it. I have a soft spot for sci-fi. Wish they gave Sterling and Simu just a bit more to do.
I would like for you to cover both Fallout and Shogun!
Yes 👍
35?!??!? I mean, if you can pull it off, sure, go for it, what the hell.
I think 39?
Mom murdered at 11 and it said 28 years later.
@@lkf8799yeah but Jlo is 55.
I suppose even Simu Liu got bills to pay.
Jlo actually made me feel emphatic towards smith 😭😭😭 …. I did enjoy the movie 🍿
EXACTLY! My eyes were watery when smith was giving his life to save her
There’s a STRONG “Flight of the Navigator” tie. A human gets trapped in a robot/space ship and they have LONG discussions getting to know each other.
I watched this movie on a whim, not knowing that JLO was being cancelled online these days (from the 90s and grew up knowing JLO as Jenny from the block) and I actually cried at the end of the movie (I am also incredibly sensitive and receiving therapy for it lol). The only reason the film was even on my radar is the VelociPastor himself, Greg Cohan, is in it. Hopefully the man got his bag.
"curious to know what you guys are more interested in" ... for me baby reindeer and xmen 97
I was just scrolling back through your videos and I realized I’ve been watching for 5 years!!! Thank you so much for your well thought out breakdowns, your opinion is so valuable to me! Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re the best:)
Thanks for listening!
Please do Shogun. For being one of the best original show in years, I feel that it deserve more spotlight.
I don’t think I’ve seen any of the last like 10 movies J-Lo has been in. God I remember that one with Owen Wilson, that one was so bad I’m glad I didn’t see it. Which sucks because I love Owen Wilson!

Out of Sight is amazing. clooney, rhames, cheadle. keaton. its brilliant
JaLo is 35 😂😂
Bro how do you come up with this punchlines and one liners wow great writing 😂
I said this in another video. This movie feels like a very stereotypical and fake blockbuster movie you’d see in another movie like Entourage
I personally actually liked this movie, but only for the mech suit and smiths personality because it reminded me of BT from Titanfall 2
The AI hand when his sword comes out.. is hilarious. They didn't even try to fix it at all. lol. (7:06)
It was not memorable but I wouldn’t say horrible. It just had all the usual elements to make it just another sci-fi movie.
Who hired you too say that crap. She's a terrible actor in anything more than a romcom.
@@MrJousha hey some folks just have mediocre movie taste lol
It's actually Jlo who's commenting lol she's that fake
@@MrJousha it's weird you think they got paid to say a movie was not memorable.
Ok bot
7:33 "Not before Jlo gets her contractual shot in Yoga pants" Is most replayed 😂😂 and most hilarious as well
X men 97 is what I’m most interested in seeing from you. I wanna see some Magneto glazing lol. (Pause)
Robots not connected to the internet with no ability to communicate with each other? How did they take over the planet again?
Sadly, this was basically a very strange love story dressed in tech.
Best commentary I’ve come across on TH-cam!!! So hilarious 🙌🏾
The scene where she was briefing the crew gave me “Alien” flashbacks
LMAO I actually watched this doing chores! I've never felt so seen.
The director says that as if it's such a 'wow, my mind's blown' moment 😅
Please review Shogun
"Enhance... enhance this script"😂😂 I dont know why I was rolling laughing at that.
JLo, though, would get the Hammer time treatment, lol.
Why did the other trained soldiers get taken out so easily yet JLo solos them all including the final boss
7:35 yoga piss lol
Mocking your ad... Poor things was so uncomfortable and creepy it proves Harvey never left.
I really liked it!!! It is exciting and very entertaining! I will watch it again! So much fun!❤❤🥰

I legit fell asleep trying to watch this with my gf 🤣
Imo the movie isn't great, but I enjoyed it enough to watch it twice now lol...Smith is cool 😊
What’s the timestamp for them yoga pants? Asking for a friend
I blame the success of Transformers, the Fast and Furious, and Snyderverse for the state of cinema today.
I think writers and studios feel like "if those guys can keep making movies and still make money... then our movies can perform"
Shogun & Fall Out please!!
35!? Girl come on.
I was just about to watch this on Netflix and something told me to look up a recap. Glad i did.
To me it was a mesh of Alien, Avatar, Robocop, Terminator and Baymax 6...it's a good movie but for the life of me!, all those crying scenes and Jlo only to shed a few tears once!!! 🤯
Yeah.. lol. the crying scenes are too long and too often. It was so out of place
I tried watching it 3 times! All 3 times I fell asleep 😴 not for me
I fell asleep the first time and moved on lol
this was me with Marvels
Shogun and X-men would be nice to cover
It was fun while I was stoned
It would be fine or better if Lopez wasn’t acting in it.
Congrats for this movie's production to weed out all the Virgo crew member and made this movie possible.
Not press pause and do chores 😂😂😂😂
Could you cover Fallout and Xmen 97 ❤
2:38 A robot claiming: "My pronouns are she and her ... "
Next, I expected a scene where it would participate in womens sports and win
I came here to see how the movie ended because I got bored half way through. The terminator poses and the constant swearing for effect and the wooden characters around the strong woman trope, with a bit or iron man CGI sewn in.

I need someone to compare this film's script with "the RiftBreaker" game's DLC plot
This was worse then I expected I fell asleep half way through 😂
The amount of time that they have her screaming and crying and fussing feels so out of place.. I feel like half the movie is her whining; it's weird
A simple favor at number 3 behind madame web just prooves trash movies are popular! We just lov watching the mess
Definitely do xmen 97, fallout and shogun
could Netflix pay this people enough for their movies especially one with a budget like this one
I like watching your breakdowns of movies i'll never watch
Give us Shogun. Best show of the year so far.
Maybe steer away from financial related sponsors
Baby Reindeer 🙏
I actually love this movie put everything about her aside and it's pretty good.
There's this scene where one minute they are on earth and then somehow they are at Alpha centuri or something ... How long did it take to reach there ? !
I thought it was decent. Great for something to watch while you eat before bed .
I strongly wouldn’t say horrible but rather say she acted well but it was poorly written not poorly acted 7.5
This movie reminded me so much of Titanfall.

Still was a very enjoyable movie!
X-Men and Fallout for sureeee
I wasn’t going to watch this because I never finished it, but then I realized I didn’t gaf. Soooo not a good sign 🤣🤣
The full shot of her on tights was absolutely thrust material! There was NO reason for that
