Hi from UK. I have a 2nd hand VW Crafter (basically rebadged Sprinter with VW drivetrain and tweaks) and have to get this done. I would recommend making sure the drain off points below the sills are clear too.
@@1lukigurl Thank you for posting the vid. I've made mid 60's and I'm hoping the 2013 van I've got will last me. There's a few vids out there on how to clear the sill s**t traps (drain points) too. Imagine what damage is caused by a cake of wet, salt impregnated mud. As other ppl have commented, if we can get this info out to other owner's, it should help slow down the rot. Especially where salt is used on the road.

This is how not to remove side trim. Use the correct trim removal tools. Use Seal and peal caulk along the top edge. Do not use silicone.
Yeah I’ve pulled the 80/20 off - it added no value. I didn’t have the removal tools but didn’t break one of them - got by with it this time!
