I once picked up a friend outside the GauTrain station in Johannesburg's CBD. I was then accosted by five taxi drivers who demanded 1500 from me or they take my car. I was there for 45 minutes, with no cops or security assisting. I eventually paid the 1500. I have no sympathy for the taxi industry and I am happy for them to be regulated out of business. They have been treating us like rubbish forever.
Sorry brother. In Durban they took my cousins car whom was doing a lift share with his girlfriend's colleagues. I went to the rank and asked who has the car keys, they remained silent, that's when I told them tracker was alerted and we have recorded them take it. They quickly gave me the car. I gave them my number for future sakes. My cousin stopped the lift club

After getting inside my car, they produced their cards 'written Benoni taxi association, they told me to go with them to their taxi office, i refused. SABC failed to bring in Metro and transport MMc to elaborate, that taxi associations don't own roads. they only have jurisdiction on routes against other taxi operators, not ordinary civilians or other modes of transport. I can tell my cousin to stand next to a taxi rank I'll pick him up from there and I should not have to worry about being fined. As long as someone is not pointing out a taxi sign they're allowed to get a lift, it's a free world. They once verbally abused me for giving a lift some youngsters who were going to work and I ws driving a company car. I lied to them that I started work that day, then they demanded 5k fine, alternatively a ransom. I promised to pay them month end and we exchanged numbers. I didn't pay. I just blocked them all.
They did this to us on our way back to JHB from EC. We were using one transport and they wanted us to pay a fine of 1.5. Yheey I refused , spoke to one of the taxi owners and they had to let us go. It’s bad, ungovernable cowntry!

The problem is most of these marshals and taxi drivers are not that educated at all, so reasoning is a bit of a challenge. They dont understand the basic laws of business, all they understand is violence. I remember catching a taxi from Carlton center to Riverlea with Nancefield taxi and Riverlea taxi association RTA refused for me to drop off at my destination. I was forced to drop off about 2km from my stop. The worst part is I was in the taxi with a pregnant lady who also dropping off at my stop, I completely cancelled RTA. I will never board taxis for Riverlea Taxi Association and I have found out that Im not the only one who is not using RTA taxis because of their attitudes.

This thing of taxi drivers needs to be taken in a serious note,before we motorists act
These guys chased a car lifting my friend Queenstown in Eastern Cape, the car ended in accident and people died. Government must please help, this is too much.
We don't understand why government is issued us with a double disc as a taxi because government failed to protect us as citisin of this country we are fost to hear from them with a stinking altitude

Come to Durban people are not allowed to drive their cars with more than two people in a small car even if they are a family .
It's not about women lets talk about all humans
If it's done to their own families will they allow this to happen. They don't own the roads but vehicles or their taxis. They literally park even in the paving pedestrians supposed to walk. This is how they are bully and think they own people
Let's work this thing out bhuti uGodole. This issue is not about women only but all of us on the road, being ill-treated these so called VIP Protection of yours.
They once verbally abused me for giving a lift some youngsters who were going to work and I ws driving a company car. I lied to them that I started work that day, then they demanded 5k fine, alternatively a ransom. I promised to pay them month end and we exchanged numbers. I didn't pay. I just blocked them all.
They did this to us on our way back to JHB from EC. We were using one transport and they wanted us to pay a fine of 1.5. Yheey I refused , spoke to one of the taxi owners and they had to let us go. It’s bad, ungovernable cowntry!

So after hearing her story, Why still ask her to pay R300, what is the money for. Mina my bolt was taken at Tembisa mall after going to the Police station, we were told that cops dnt get involved with bolts and taxis, abazingeni in simple terms. So this needs to be a national emergency and the minister needs to address this and draft a law or legislation against this. The taxi industry is just operating a free will in this country. They own the country.
The taxi marshalls think they own this country
Taxi industry is bunch of bullies n think they own the roads their bussines is not even paying tax and government is scared of them

This industry is 😮.They even bump on your car when you think the owner will take responsibility, no one knows the taxi owner and the driver,the first owner will say i 've long sold the taxi.You are on your own now,you'll see to finish with your car.
The problem is most of these marshals and taxi drivers are not that educated at all, so reasoning is a bit of a challenge. They dont understand the basic laws of business, all they understand is violence. I remember catching a taxi from Carlton center to Riverlea with Nancefield taxi and Riverlea taxi association RTA refused for me to drop off at my destination. I was forced to drop off about 2km from my stop. The worst part is I was in the taxi with a pregnant lady who also dropping off at my stop, I completely cancelled RTA. I will never board taxis for Riverlea Taxi Association and I have found out that Im not the only one who is not using RTA taxis because of their attitudes.

They did the same to us in Nelspruit. I have a receipt of R1000 from taxi association. I wonder if they reported this income to sars becsnow it means that they are not non profit making organizations
