The Last Roadrailer: Norfolk Southern Train

We took a roadtrip to see the last run of NS's Roadrailer train. Most teenagers want to go to amusement parks, Disney World, sporting events or other expensive and sometimes far destinations. My son asks to go to Decatur, Illinois...to see the last Roadrailer train.
So off we go to central Illinois. We caught NS 255 crossing over the old Wabash Railroad arch bridge over Lake Decatur (among other trains) and then went on a chase. A crew change was scheduled for Decatur Terminal, so this gave us a little time to navigate traffic. We followed the train to Springfield and then said goodbye, as the Roadrailer will now be a whisper from US railroad history.
