TTS brings you quality railfan videos from the Chicagoland area and beyond. Fast freights on Class I lines, slow movers on Class III lines, and passenger trains galore. The channel is constantly evolving. I often have my son (Kole) with me when railfanning, so you may see some clips of him eating a donut or making a funny face. We are here to have fun and share our favorite trains with other railfans. Thank you for checking us out!

A Sunday afternoon of railfanning. Rain, sunshine, a CN train that never comes, and a short window to get an idling NS train down the BNSF tracks. It's all right here. Get Your Train Merch Here! Nice
Thank you.
Entertaining!
*Trying* to get creative. 😂
on it's way to feed electric cars ;)
@@stevewaterhouse3025 😂
Nice effect! Is that a sepia effect?
Something like that. It's a filter...maybe dry rose? Just changing it up a little.
Nice!
Funny you should post this video, which is Awesome, by the way. I will be at that Amtrak station a week from Today. Taking my son and Grandson to St. Louis via Amtrak.
I hope you enjoy the trip! I've been talking of taking my son on a train trip this summer, but finding the time is tricky. Let us know how it goes!
@@TitanTrainSpotter , I will let you know how it goes. And, God willing, you will find the time to get in some quality time with your Son. Best of luck to ya.

Blue Island Junction is the best place for high volume railfanning. It has to be my favorite spot. I can remember back in the late 70s going down to Vermont St. Station to see what surprises the Rock Island had in store. Brand new RTA F40PHs and SP GP40X to F and E units all in a few hours. Glad to see that you had a Rock Island surprise on your trip there. SOP was to stop off at the White Castles on 127th and Western, get a sack and head for the tracks. Fun times.
Looks a lot like the Music City Star with just two cars and an F40
I don’t get it
?
@@TitanTrainSpotter dude, what is the whole point of this video??
@@JayBryant2012to show a Mars light, which is kind of a historic relic and not commonly seen on many trains any longer.
🇺🇲💯
Those are worn out tracks. Could it be a siding?
It is. It's actually the spur in Meadville, PA which branches off the Western New York and Pennsylvania shortline railroad. One of the comments on the main video stated that these rails are well over 100 years old.
@@TitanTrainSpotter , ahh, that explains a lot. I’m also guessing lighter weight rail too. Could also mean less than fully loaded cars? Just a guess.
Do you know about the IANR operations in Manly, IA?
I do not. Sorry.
Hopefully big class 1 CN taking over the lines doesn't start imposing 75 car unit trains, raising shipping rates, and ultimately mothballing any of the lines. Really worried about what this could mean for the trackage that IANR is operating for NCIRC from Belmond to Forest City.
I didn't even realize that line was operated by IANR. I'm always concerned and saddened when a smaller railroad gets gobbled up by a class 1.

Nice train video. How long did it take you to edit this train video?
It's been a while ago, but I'd guess between 1 and 2 hours.
@@TitanTrainSpotterOkay.
Oh the memories. In high school my railfan buddies Ken Koren , Mike Abalos, and I would head down to Vermont Street to catch the new RTA F40PHs and the last of the Rock Island basket cases. In the mid to late 70s we were able to go into the round house and walk around the locos out on the ready track. If we were lucky we would see some of the new SP power that would be delivered by the Rock to Tucumcari NM. Those were the days.
Good times.
4 lead units. Another nice catch
The sound of a locomotive's horn is music to my ears
I agree!
@TitanTrainSpotter The Soo Line used to run freight trains around 2 AM every night in Northern Wisconsin, in a town of 325 people that I grew up with. Soothing.
@@williamsparks1521 I grew up in Casey, Illinois (southern half of IL) and the CSX St. Louis Line (Conrail for most of my childhood) ran through town. Conrail freights would fly through at all hours of the day. Multiple crossings in a short distance, so they just laid on the horn the whole way through town.
Very nice!
@@Elifilmstrains Thanks!
Do you know how often they WNYP runs trains out of Meadville
I actually don't. This was my first time there and I think we were just really lucky with timing. Maybe someone else is more familiar and can chime in?

I think this locomotive needs to be donated to the museum to be repainted
Agreed. Not even sure who owns it or why it's been sitting here for many years.
Oh, you can’t NOT stop in Scranton and see the Alco’s in action. I did that last year when I was in the area. Great place to railfan. You won’t forget it. Stay safe out there.
It was great, but we only had a day and a half and other family members to entertain, and our timing was just terrible. I got about 6 minutes of video to post in a day or so, but I sure would have liked to see more of them.
@TitanTrainSpotter 6 minutes of video is great enough. I'm currently living In middle Tennessee and an hour and a half from nearest real railfanning. I now live vicariously thru you. Thanks for your dedication to fun train action
Now THIS is what passenger rail is meant to be!
Love it when I can catch a local and express in the same shot.
A few points in case you decide to come back to the area. The tracks between Jamestown Ny and Saegertown Pa have not been abandoned, but merely deactivated. At some point there may be trains that run across the line again. The industrial siding you guys were filming along actually belonged to the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad. The line came from Meadville Junction, now MD junction in Conneaut Lake Pa, running to the city of Meadville itself. The Bessemer and Lake Erie is now under the ownership of Canadian National. The industrial spurs’s rails are reportedly over a century old, and reportedly due to be reworked soon, after the rr recieved a grant from the state of federal government, to upgrade the tracks and ROW.
Awesome. Thanks for the info. My daughter will be going to college in Erie, so I'm sure there will be more trips to Meadville and surrounding area. Glad those tracks to the north haven't been abandoned. My son read somewhere they only had 3 carloads in 2023.
@@TitanTrainSpotter yeah, a lot of people are relieved they didn’t abandon it. There’s still some real estate along the line that could be one day used for businesses. Side note about that business your son had read about, they now get their cars inside of Meadville yard, where their contents are then transloaded to trucks and taken the rest of the way from there, since the line was deactivated.
Outstanding Alco footage. Can’t go wrong there!
We got really lucky with timing, too. A little luck never hurts.
Eh eh what in the world?
Must be hurting for Power to bring in a freight SD70. Could be cheaper to maintain? Another great catch.
Its not Erie, but Erie Lackawanna.
Nope
that’s exactly what my wooden metra train looks like lol
I always wonder what they’re hauling, if loaded.
And why so small? They look like toys. 😂
hello it was a pleasure to meet you that day. was a great time.
Nice I never see this type of loco I remember my first time going on a train ride and I wanted to see this type of loco (sorry I forgot what you call these😅) but I saw a charger and I was kind of sad I still like these better but now I think the charger really are not that bad
They’re called P42s if you’re wondering
Pretty sure that's Erie but I could be wrong because it doesn't say the j on it
Definitely the Erie logo, but it may have been repainted. The "storyboard" on the side says EJ&E, so either it is wrong or the paint scheme is. Who knows.
Me: we will se about that😈😈
Don't see many End Cab Switchers anymore. Fantastic catch, as usual. Thanks
Thanks. Now that I know their schedule, I plan on catching them a lot more.
@@TitanTrainSpotter, Super. Hopefully you can catch a few loads or empties being switched. Good Luck
Cool
Nice catch on the Diesel Exhaust. My opinion, those are absolutely the best shots. Shows the power those engines have when working hard.
Agreed.
You are so cool I never get to see these types of trains
Nice
Thanks
Those tracks don’t seem save…
They only carry very slow trains. And I'm guessing very short ones.
Dang, another Illinois Service train I need to take, Someday. Another great catch.
I hope to give it a ride this summer, too.
@@TitanTrainSpotter , make sure you get some video!
The locomotive is MARC 91/67 and on the BN was 9907
Gotta love track speed.
That reminds me of some photos taken of the BN E-Units, some of them had a locomotive with just 2 cars.
I also recall seeing the E Units pulling short trains (in photos, not in person). Must have been when ridership was lower.
I would assume they got bad ordered, plucked, the locomotive went out there solo, picked them up, and deadheaded to Chicago
I‘be worked in Elgin, and this video reminds me of the commutes from Chicago!
Long ride?
