Thank you for bringing up typer1 DM struggles with losing body fat. I'm a LADA diagnosed at 35 ..now 50 in menopause which is a whole other animal. Thank you for your knowledge.
I’m a die hard follower of Lauren & love her recs,, (for years) I don’t comment much but this new set up with yall up so much higher is weird. It’s almost painful to look at. Why did y’all make it like this I don’t understand the logic. Is it a DJ booth lol the person getting interviewed seems so small and yall are like giants in the castle. Sorry :/
So true about finding a trainer that fits you. Before I found the right trainer for me I had 2 trainers, one that a 15-minute free training session. Literally I couldn't walk upstairs for a week. The other didn't challenge me, once I found my 3rd one he looked at where I was at what I was looking for and he new when to push me harder and when to ease up,it truly was transforming.
I love how he says to start slow with increase eating protein, I currently just started tracking now that I am late 40s and I don’t even come close to what I am supposed to intake. I feel overwhelmed by it
It is deliberate, the guest is short in stature so they set him apart so it is not obvious that the woman is the tallest person in the room. It is a "social consideration".
Great episode. I’ve been lifting weights both consistently and sporadically for 20 years and have noticed the sort of muscle memory it creates. Three kids later and almost 38, I totally relate to the shock of the immediate weight gain and water retention but I’m pushing through! Going to implement lifting heavier and less reps. Thanks all! ❤
While I do gain fat pretty easily if I don’t watch my diet and exercise, I’m lucky in that not only do I get results fast, I LOVE lifting weights. Heavy weights, 40-50 minutes, 3 times per week. The only women I’ve ever seen get bulky are on PEDs, OR they aren’t dropping the body fat (think powerlifters)
Preach. The “toned” & “lean” older ladies I always saw at the gym weren’t power lifting or spending a ton of time doing cardio, they were lifting low reps, moderately heavy weights for 50-60 mins 4x/week. And yes I’m sure walking their dogs, chasing grand babies, and being conscious of their food!
@@nothanksmegan chasing the grand babies, yes! When we have our granddaughter, on my regular lifting days I feel like I’ve done 2 a days by the time she is done with me 😂
@@HH-gv8mx my two cents, I prefer working out in the evenings, but even with an A/C in our makeshift shed to gym, it’s still too hot until well after 8pm. So I have to do early mornings right now, around 7am. I’m fasted for about 14-16 hrs by that time and I honestly don’t notice a difference! Not in fat loss, not in strength or weakness. Really nothing earth shattering for me either way lol. Personally, it feels like just being consistent with diet and exercise is what matters most.
When I first started working out seriously in a gym, before that I was always active in sports, I got a personal trainer. I remember he was way more focused on the number on the scale now I’ve never been fat. I’m 57 and when I first started working out in the gym I weighed 140 pounds and the man that was my personal trainer made me feel bad about that. I started cross training doing a lot of cardio classes, hiit training and weights. Dropped down to 128. All of my family members were concerned about me and told me I looked anorexic. I could eat whatever I wanted. My body was a furnace. But I did lose my period for several years and I started breaking bones. I’ve seen a lot of women get obsessed with being a Byim rat And getting too lean . Lauryn needs to be careful bc she can really mess her hormones up by getting too lean.
Lauren you think getting bulky is an excuse but you were where worried 😧 about your legs 🦵 getting thicker…. Isn’t that the same 😳? Your where still afraid of greeting bulkier which is fine. And yes weightlifting is finally changing my body but I still think if someone holds more fat in certain areas it can definitely look bulkier with weights if you don’t whatch what you eat. Food plays huge role too.

I just realized wearing a weighted vest while cleaning my house is actually a pretty good idea

Ok. Yes. Agree. … go back to the original set up, it was waaaay more down to earth .. haha 😆 no pun intended
It resembles a court house. Judges above ppl below
Agreed!! So impersonal!!!!
That’s the first thing I notice. I like the round table just having a conversation
Someone had to say it 👏🏼

Looovvveee this episode!!
I’m a big weightlifter and have been for years. It’s changed my life.

😂😂😂 the set up, I’m dying
It’s awful - why would you look down at your guests? I’d be so uncomfortable as a guest

It’s a bit much right?

I want to hear more about the consensus on working out in a fasted state. Is it worth it? Do you burn more fat when working out fasting?

Great interview, thank you so much! Do you know what Brent’s take is on Zone 2 for women nearing menopause?
have to agree with some other comments: the setup is a 👎🏼
It’s horrific
Can you link the flexible diet coach?
Not a fan of the studio set up. The difference in height is weird. But love today's content
🎉❤ New subscriber!
Who is the flexible diet coach?

Why are you guys up higher than him? It’s so horrible looking.
Agree. I've never seen a podcast set up like this before 😮
Unecessary but adherent to current social constructs. A shame for the guy to feel it necessary. His contribution is valuable.
Wait lol did this dude just out Michael for having a TRT Doctor??? wtf didn't expect that lol
WEIGHTED VEST BRAND recommend please 🚶♀️ 🏋️♀️
Love ya’ll, but this new set up ain’t it. 😞
Please fire your interior designer!
When the guys are talking about 18-25 is it about age ??? Or weight? Because that’s insane if he’s talking about weight.
Body fat percentage

No stop you didn't name your kid ZAZA....😂😂
