      //New Selector\\
      For x,y,z and dx,dy,dz
      //New Selector\\
      These selectors/arguments will target any entity within their specified region
      //General rules are
      x,y and z are your regular starting coordinates and dx,dy and dz are relative to the first set of coordinates
      //Example
      Lets say I wanted to check for an entity within the boundaries of 2,5,7 and 9,15,16,
      For the first set of coordinates (2,5,7) I would say [x=2,y=5,z=7].
      Now for the second pair (9,15,16) , I would subtract the second set of coordinates (9,15,16) from the first (2,5,7).
      Which would look like (9 - 2 = 7 , 15 - 5 = 10 , 16 - 7 = 9). Therefore [dx=7,dy=10,dz=9].
      You can also think of DxDyDz as relative coordinates or Tildes (~~~) to the first set (2,5,7)
      //New Selector\\
      For Ry , Rym
      //New Selector\\
      These target any entity facing a specific direction horizontally.
      //General rules are:
      Ry must always be higher than Rym (Note that "m" stands for minimum)
      otherwise, the command block will target every entity, regardless of rotation.
      However, because of this, North (180˚/-180˚) is broken.
      So unless you want someone 100% facing North, I suggest using two command blocks.
      //Here is an idea of how it works
      Imagine we have a flat circle in front of us, that is completely level ,
      one half is from 180˚ (North) to 0˚ (South) (Anti-clockwise)
      and the other half is from 0˚ (South) to -180˚ (North)(Clockwise)
      //Example
      Lets say I wanted to target every entity facing within 45˚ of south (0˚)
      I would write ry=45˚ (Since ry must be higher than rym) and rym=-45˚))
      If I were to do the same with North, simply typing [ry=135,rym=-135]
      would make the game think want to target every entity except what we would like,
      because the game would check all around (anti-clockwise) our circle we had previously.
      and typing [ry=-135,rym=135] would break the rule of rym having to be less than ry.
      How I get around it (however not the best) is by using two command blocks,
      one saying [ry=180,rym=135]
      and the other saying [ry=-135,rym=-180]
      //New Selector\\
      Rx, Rxm
      //New Selector\\
      These target entities facing is a specific direction vertically
      Just like before, "m" stands for minimum
      //Here is an idea of how it works
      Imagine a semi-circle with the solid side facing you and it's standing up straight
      It goes from -90˚(top) to 90˚ (bottom)
      //Example
      Lets say I wanted to target every entity looking above the horizon (0)
      I would say [rx=-1,rxm=-90]
      Since -1 is more than -90, rx will be -1 and rxm -90
      If I wanted to target every entity looking below the horizon (0) or 45 degrees upward
      I would say [rx=90,rxm=-45]
      It might be confusing since negative is on the top and positive is on the bottom.
      And that's pretty much it, if you still don't understand something, you can reply and I'll get answer as soon as possible.
      😁Thanks for reading this, and have a great rest of you day/night!

    I think coord/position with d is detect x detect y detect z its like radius that can be edited it can use to put effects on people or mobs right?

    • @tailhammer4273
      @tailhammer4273  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but d is relative to its corresponding value. So if [x =1] and [dx = 1] then it would check the blocks x=1 and x=2 in the world because 2 is one more than 1. And if [x=5] and [dx=6] it would check the blocks x = 5 to x = 11because 5 + 6 = 11. This also works with negative numbers.
      To answer your second question, yes you can put effects on mbos and people as well as pretty much anything command blocks can do like /give, /playsound ect...

  • @bageltwo
    @bageltwo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Say I wanted to make a sky high uhc that kills everyone under a y level of 60, how would I do that, since I have to be specific. My only idea would be to use an execute command. "execute @a ~ ~ ~ testfor @a[x=~, y=60, z=~, dx=~, dy=~, dz=~] But I have a feeling that wouldnt work because of Minecraft's lack of ability to select multiple players who represent different values.

    • @tailhammer4273
      @tailhammer4273  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      (Summary at the end of this comment)
      If you want to visually see a scoreboard, we first need to know what the name and displayName are.
      The name is used for the command blocks to do stuff to it.
      The displayName is what the players will see.
      In this example our name will be "Test"
      and displayName will be "TeamTail"
      First we create it by saying
      /scoreboard objectives add Test dummy TeamTail
      --// The next few lines are explaining this command bit by bit.
      objectives=The actual scoreboard itself
      add= Creating a new scoreboard
      Test = Our name
      dummy = currently the only criteria in Minecraft bedrock
      TeamTail = Our displayName
      --//
      To visually see it we then say
      /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar Test ascending
      --// The next few lines are explaining this command bit by bit (The parts I didn't say earlier).
      setdisplay = Sets the visual display of our scoreboard.
      In this case, we are setting it to our sidebar but you can also set it to list
      (the list of players when you go into your pause menu)
      or belowName which sets the score below the players name (only one at a time)
      ascending = sorts the scores in ascending order, can be descending too. None for belowName though.
      --//
      To add or subtract scores say
      /scoreboard players add/remove "Joshua Japor" Test 69
      To summarise
      create it
      /scoreboard objectives add Test dummy TeamTail
      set display
      /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar Test ascending
      add some scores (to see the players on it)
      /scoreboard players add "Joshua Japor" Test 420
      PS. Sorry if my explanation was to long for a simple question, I just really want to make sure the people who ask a question get a good answer.
      If you got any questions or I didn't answer you question, feel free to comment again and I'll get back to you ASAP.
      Have a good one :D

    I’m a bit confused on the vertical part, so your command detected if you were facing up which is -90, but you set rx to 0 (im guessing looking completely straight) but the rxm which is the minimum is 90 (positive) so if the minimum was 90 shouldn’t it be whoever is facing in the bottom half? because if 90 is straight down and 0 is straight in the middle if we visualize it as a rectangle then it should only detect the bottom half of the screen.

    • @tailhammer4273

      I see where you're getting confused, I had actually set rxm to -90, however it is a bit difficult to see.
      I hope this clears that up, and if you have any more questions, feel free to reply to this comment.

    I don't get it when you say you have to add it to the corresponding value
    on the dx dy and dz

    • @tailhammer4273
      @tailhammer4273  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bosilm B basically x,y,z is the starting position ,let’s say (50,30,-100), and dx,dy,dz is the size.
      So if our second pair of coordinates were (72,60,-110) then dx,dy,dz would be (22,30,-10).
      I other words dx,dy,dz are what you need to add to x,y,z to get to the second pair of coordinates.
      So
      x:50 + dx:22 = 72
      y:30 + dy:30 = 60
      z:-100 + dz:-10 = -110
      or
      (50,30,-100) + (22,30,-10) = (72,60,-110)
      If hope you get it a little more now. If you don’t just tell my what you’re stuck on.

      @@tufario336 What I explained in the video is different to the fill command. In the video are selectors.
      Selectors are always enclosed by two square brackets [ ]. They target entities if they meet the required selectors,
      Example, testfor @e[x=2,dx=1,name=Sheep]

    can someone please tell me what does this ^ mean

    • @tailhammer4273
      @tailhammer4273  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be used in place of ~ ~ ~ (like ^ ^ ^). It is used to get a position relative to the rotation of the executer's head.
      The first ^ tells how far to the left of the executer's head,
      The second tells how far from the top of the executer's head,
      The third tell how far from the front of the executer's head.
      So if I type "/tp @e[type=!player] ^ ^20 ^" , it will teleport all entities, but players, 20 blocks over your head (Accounting for the rotation of your head).
      ^10 ^ ^ would be 10 blocks to the left of your head.
      And ^ ^ ^ 5 would be 5 blocks ahead of you.
      You can use multiple numbers at a time (^10 ^2 ^ 5)
      And if you use negative numbers it will be on the opposite side.
      ^ ^ ^-5 would be 5 blocks behind your head.
      That's pretty much it, not sure if you can mix them all (5 ~2 ^3),
      and I don't think it will be as effective in command blocks.
      But you can always play around with it.
      Hope this answered your question!
      Have a great day :D

    So X Y Z are the starting points, and DX DY DZ are the ending coordinates, right?

    • @tailhammer4273
      @tailhammer4273  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      DX, DY and DZ is the size of the area you want to target.
      You can get this by subtracting the second pair of coordinates by the first
      So if you wanted to target entities within (10,64,-90) and (30,70,-100)
      DX, DY and DZ would be (20,6,-10) [30-10 = 20, 70-64 = 6, -100- -90 = -10]
      If you were to try to use DX, DY and DZ as the second pair of coordinates,
      the command would target entities within (10,64,-90) and (40,134,-190).
      Hope it makes sense, if not you can comment whats bothering you,
      or if I should take a different approach at explaining.

      @@rupansunderapandyan2810 So I have tested it a little, and to accomplish this, there are two different methods I've used,
      one requires 3 command blocks which uses tags,
      the other requires 4 or 5 which uses scoreboard
      Note: anything time I use the word "Blacklist" it is a name that you can change to anything, but must be consistent through out the rest of the method you choose to use!+
      The first method
      The first command will be
      "tag @a remove Whitelist" --The name (Blacklist) can be anything, we do this so this method can be used multiple times.
      The second will be
      "tag @a[x=?,y=?,z=?,dx=?,dy=?,dz=?] add Blacklist" -- We then give the tag to those within the region you want to exclude
      The last command will be whatever you want to do with the players that aren't in the region, but you much include
      "[tag=!Blacklist]"
      The second method
      The first command, will create the scoreboard which is
      "scoreboard objectives add Blacklist dummy"
      (This first one is optional and doesn't need to be added, but your choice will affect the last command block
      The second command will set every player's score on "Blacklist" to 0 which is
      "scoreboard players set @a Blacklist 0"
      The third command will set Blacklist to 1 for all that are in your region being
      "scoreboard player set @a[x=?,y=?,z=?,dx=?,dy=?,dz=?] Blacklist 1
      The forth command will be whatever you want o do with the players that aren't in the region, make sure to include [scores={Blacklist=0}] in it
      If you chose to keep the first command, this command will remove the Blacklist objective:
      scoreboard objectives remove Blacklist
      else we will just reset all the scores to 0, being
      scoreboard players set @a Blacklist 0
      Hope this help, thanks for reading, have a great rest of your year!
