Super Bob 2 Any% in

Nice run with an awesome 2 accel 8-4 to top it off! This run was completed on attempt 37 and was first run past 1-2, which I'm proud about as well. 2:03 is possible with a weird 1-1 mavpole, lightning 1-2, and an 8-4 3 frames faster than this run's 8-4, but getting that all in a run would be absolutely ridiculous. However, if I ever come back to this category, I might add in one of those framerule saves for a low 2:04.

The piranha plants go in a time cycle. So lets say every 2 sec theh pop up then he has a 2 sec window to get in the pipe.

It actually happened because too many sprites were loaded at once, so it vanished to make way for more. This might not be the exact reason, but it's something close to that.

What the others said is not correct. The real reason is that if you run past the pipe in that part of that level the room will loop and keep repeating for ever. The way the game implemented this feature was by having the section of the level that loops reset every time the level loops, and when it does this reset all enemies despawn. It just so happens that this reset point is right before when Mario goes to enter the pipe. So there is no trick to making this happen, it just happens automatically. Hopefully that makes sense

@@BurgerFan27 this is not the case. Maybe you were thinking of when there are too many sprites in one horizontal line on the screen, which can cause them to flicker or temporarily visually disappear, but this would not remove their hitbox so Mario would still die. Also there is a limit to how many enemies can be loaded at once, but this can never cause a currently loaded enemy to un-load, this only causes enemies to just never load in the first place. half of the attempts were getting my first and second completed runs, this was my first run past 1-2 on pace after barely missing the framerule a few times. however, only after getting this run is when i figured out that the strat you have in your pb makes the 1-2 framerule more lenient, so i’ll definitely do that strat instead if i return to this category
