  • The Mercury X Modular Stereo Reverb Pedal by ‪@MerisUs‬ - a true game-changer in the world of guitar effects. Today, we explore the tantalizing question on every guitarist's mind: Can the Mercury X emulate the ethereal reverb sound of the Chase Bliss MOOD Mkii? The answer might just leave you pleasantly surprised.
    Let's start with the Mercury X - a marvel of engineering and innovation. This modular stereo reverb pedal boasts an array of customizable parameters that allow musicians to sculpt their ideal reverberation. With a diverse set of algorithms and the ability to tweak decay, pre-delay, and modulation and more, the Mercury X provides an extensive palette for crafting lush, atmospheric tones. It's a pedal that empowers musicians to create sonic landscapes as vast and varied as their imagination.
    On the other hand, the Chase Bliss MOOD Mkii is renowned for its ambient capabilities and unique granular processing. The pedal, celebrated for its tape-like warble and surreal textures, has carved a niche for itself among ambient and experimental players, and the reverb algorithm on the Wet Channel is out of this world! The Mercury X, while not identical, steps into the ring with its own set of strengths, offering a different take on that reverb that can be equally captivating.
    What sets the Mercury X apart is its modular design, allowing users to expand and experiment with different modules within the box. This flexibility opens up endless possibilities for combining reverbs with various parameters in unique ways, giving players the ability to craft one-of-a-kind sounds that transcend traditional boundaries.
    In a head-to-head comparison, it's important to appreciate the individual brilliance of each pedal. While the Mercury X may not precisely replicate the MOOD Mkii's signature sound, it introduces its own sonic character, offering a fresh perspective on what a stereo reverb pedal can achieve.
    Whether you're drawn to the lush and dreamy landscapes of the Chase Bliss MOOD Mkii or enticed by the modular versatility of the Mercury X, both pedals bring something unique to the table. In the end, it's a matter of personal preference and the sonic journey each guitarist wants to embark upon.
    Embrace the diversity of musical expression with these exceptional pedals - the Mercury X and the Chase Bliss MOOD Mkii. Your sonic adventure awaits!

    Can the mercury x do pitch bends like the Mr black Supermoon?

      @thepedalcollaborative  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve never used the Supermoon, but the MercuryX has several modules for pitch shifting as well as the ability to use the modifiers to adjust that. Specifically using the Hold modifier which could enable the far right foot switch to momentarily change the pitch command.
      Hope that helps!

    Is the gen loss patch downloable somewhere ?😅
    Thank u so much!

      Hey there! Which patch? You mentioned Gen Loss, but that’s not in this one :)

      @@thepedalcollaborativeabout 10:30 there’s a comment about a Hazy modulation algorithm and if Im not mistaken you compare it with the gen loss… I was wondering if this was a factory algorithm or if you downloaded it somewhere

      @davidsanfeliumarco9664 gotcha! Ok so the Gen Loss is a tape loss effect. Meris put the Hazy algorithm as a standard option in the Modulation block. It allows you to give a degraded tape effect and control things like age and warble. You don’t have to download anything. It’s already in there!
      In the Modulation block, scroll all the way to the right for Type and you’ll find it :)

      @davidsanfeliumarco9664 of course! Have fun! That Hazy setting can also give you some of the “clock” noise in the CXM1978. Just shot that video last night so be on the lookout in the coming days! 🙌

    Kind of curious how the Poly Verb will stack up against the Meris.

      I’ve got a tasty chips integral which is also a convolution pedal. I was just comparing it to my mercury X today. A really good IR beats it for sure. But only if you want to just play and sound great. You can’t do much to modulate or adjust a convolution reverb. Although the integral has a lot more ability in this respect than the Poly.

      @@delkel9delkel914 Never heard of that pedal, looks pretty cool. I think less tweaking might appeal to a lot of people really. Have you found any good outboard spring IRs?

      @thepedalcollaborative  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @delkal9delkak914 ooh I didn’t know Tasty Chips did the Integral pedal! I will have to check it out! Might also be something to A/B against the Poly.
      You’re right with plugging in a good convolution and going to town right away. The Meris here is something more. It’s more…experimental in comparison.
      Thanks for telling us about the Integral!

      @masterofreality230 comparing the Meris against the Poly is a GREAT idea! I’m going to try and get one once I get the funds. Hopefully soon :)

    Great video..I'm the guy who suggested about the comparison between the Mercury X and Mood 2 reverb...The Mood 2 smeared reverb is unbelievably lush..The Mercury X doesn't quite get there..

      First of all THANK YOU for the video suggestion! This one was difficult but fun to do! I don’t think either of these pedals can replace either, and I don’t think the MercX gets all the way there but dang if it doesn’t do its best to get close! That MOOD though. Wow!
