- A 15:00-minute long portal to get away from the world.
"I couldn't imagine a life in which I would not be surrounded by music, which shelters you from the world, which protects you and keeps you at the certain distance from the world.
because, I think, that the only advantage that any artist has, anything that any artist can read or write about, all artists do, even if they know it or not - is that distance from the world. "

I’ve only discovered your channel this year, and it came at the perfect time. As I prepare to enter graduate school for piano performance, I consistently think back to the positivity and mindfulness your videos promote. I don’t know how much effort these videos take or how rewarding they are for you, but they are certainly helping people all over the world. Hopefully that brings you joy! The sophisticated subject, the passion that is barely masked by your quiet way of speaking, and the conscious portrayal of these fundamentally intimate subjects makes for a parasocial relationship that is truly valuable. Thank you.
Thank you so so much for these kind words and support, means a lot! 🫶🏻
Everyday i thank youtube for putting ' practicing 12 hours ' on my timeline
me too
i just wanna say, first i strongly relate to everything you say. As an amateur pianist, escaping from all the noise, appreciating the moments of quietness and calm is an essential part in nurturing my playing. I can literally feel the difference in the tip of my fingers as i play, let's say a Chopin Nocturne, after i have spent some time wandering in nature, some time taking a walk and sit in a park, in complete quietness, watching the full Moon glowing in the sky. I can feel more connected to the ethereal beauty of these immortal melodies, which are insperable from Nature itself, since they express same immortal beauty. Isn't it beautifully ironic, how appreciating the quietness lead us to produce a more beautiful sound ? How these moments of stilness helps us create an even more beautiful tone and melody ? As if the ability to embrace silence and creating beauty are two face of the same coin. Anyway, forgive me, i am rambling. Second, i want to say that your personna, and these few hidden gems that you make in here, are one of the most beautiful things for me. I feel so connected to the way you narrate things, the way you speak, the way you fil things, evertyhing. For example just the simple tiny detail of the beautiful Moon shot that appeared at the beginning of this video, the fact that you thought of looking up at that instant, being in awe watching her, as i often do, and take the few seconds to make a beautiful shot of it makes me so happy. It makes me realize that there are people out there with the same thought patterns, people who are able to just pause and appreciate the things that make this Life so precious. People who have a deep sense of appreciation for Art and its connection with. Anyways, imma stop here because i am talking way too much.
I will come back to this video, always, especially since i am pretty much learning a piano piece all the time. I will think of your words as i will be practicing my Chopin Waltz in B Minor or his Op 37 No.1 Nocturne (goal for Fall season :D). You are truly appreciated, Mariam, and thank you for just.. being the person that you are, and allowing us to get a glimpse to the way you view the world.
Thank you so much for these kindest words!
wish you good luck in everything
I appreciate this zone of TH-cam.
I very much appreciate this kind of audience
I am unable to fully express how helpful your videos have been for me. My practicing and approaches to music as a whole have changed entirely. Thank you so so much.
It means so so much, good luck
nothing but reverence for pure human beauty
what a shame that such a thrilling masterpiece doesn't get the recognition it would deserve
It means a lot, thank you

Wow I am so glad you posted this! I have been waiting for you to post another video and this one was so philosophical and calming! Just what I needed to start off my new school year in piano studies. Your editing style is beautiful and I loved the ambient music that you had in the background. Not to mention your playing, which is absolutely incredible. Have you ever thought of composing a piece? I think that with your philosophical understanding of music, you'll be able to express your thoughts very well and unique.
Thank you so much and yes, I do compose.
I love your videos and your style. I love the aesthetics and the feel. Thank you for sharing these

I have been having somewhat a crisis, I will never give up but sometimes I want to. This made me feel more at peace and the clarity of my goals and ideas felt more like they are physically near. More importantly it doesnt matter if I ever get to that place. My will is to spend my life in search of that place because that makes me feel calm
I have been there too, and I believe even the greatest artists have also experienced it. Don't force yourself to be 1000% productive all the time; that will make you paranoid. Just allow yourself to rest or do the minimum for a while until you feel like you've recovered.
Wish you all the best !
How many young musicians see music theory as a perfunctory course and never actually use it? It's great to see harmonic analysis put into practice, as a means of understanding both the structure and the intent of a piece. I would be interested to hear how you would differentiate the concept of mental practice, from the popular notion of "fake it 'til you make it".
Thank you for your beautiful words, music, film . I love the pacing and edits. I really appreciate the vibe. I'm just learning guitar at a ripe old age and thought I find I'm a little envious of your life I really do love that you have it and that I can benefit from your sharing in my own more limited way...
Thank you
great vid as always! you should upload more.
Thanksss❤️
@@mariam_much aww of course! keep going, Im sure youll hit it big with enough consistency!!
Amazing storytelling! I am not a pianist, but I loved what you've made.
I love your videos 😻 They are balm for the soul (just like a slow movement from a Beethoven sonata hehe)
Love your videos. Very inspirational, especially for someone like me who just started learning how to play the piano
Means a lot if this helps🥹❤️
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. A modern musician has a whole different set of challenges than the past.
Thank you for watching ❤️
you got it backwards: you don't study history to understand art. Through experiencing art you gain understanding of its history
lovely
Wow, so beautiful and inspiring thank you sooo much ❤
Thank you so much for your kindness!
Your videos are inspirational thanks!
This melts my heart, hope you're doing okey, sending love
This was a brilliant piece of content you produced. I feel very connected to much of the idealogies you shared and how they correlate infinitely with others. I own a "storefront" called "Nate Nathan's Sound Temple" in a downtown of a small town. I create music from this location while also engaging with dialogue about classical music and much more. I hope to connect with you on this platform at some point in life. Thank you for contributions and dedications to this world. God bless.
Thank you so much and so happy that those kind of places still exist, good luck!
Just... Wow!
❤️
please do more videos , it motivate me so much because im a student of piano in a conservatorie of spain :)
I am making them💓 thank you so much for watching, means a lot!!
Very aesthetic video and really interesting points about playing music, thanks.

Thank you for sharing I love the idea of visualising playing in your mind I I’ll apply this to my learning. Do you have any tips for Clair de Lune - Debussy . I have a school exam in 2 months and I have to play. I’m struggling with the big arpeggio run sections. Thanks
hii, practice only left hand for long. It will give you more contole. and on arpeggios - you can play it with different accents. you can make an accents on "weak beats" instead of downbeats while practicing. it will balance it out. (sorry for the late reply, I hope this helps)
Suuuuuper LIKE 🤩
❤
i love u, i wanna cry i wont ever know u in this life..alas
Sending love back🫶🏻
Nice video, some great points. One thing I think though is that one should be careful in reading too much into the historical or personal circumstances around a composer and a given work. It can be reductive. No one can know what anyone else's internal world really is. Composers may write something uplifting in a challenging period of their life or vice versa. I think many have this false notion that composers sit and pour their personal feelings into compositions, but this is not really how composition works. It might be an element but that is too simplistic a notion. These musical pieces are often thought about and engineered over a long period of time during which a composer may go through many ups and downs and different feelings and emotions. It is like a music teacher I knew once said: "I don't care whether or not they had a tooth ache when they composed it!."
Yes, that factor is also present, but to me, the epoch, time period, and surroundings still have an effect on a composer in some way. we might never fully understand their internal world, but we surely know that some events were so significant that they couldn't help but affect the composer in some way.
For example, Chopin's exile or the period of Russian composers when they couldn't write whatever they wanted due to censorship, restrictions in soviet union.
I think that is the most exciting part, that we have to explore these events and discern their effects through thoughtful analysis.
@@mariam_much Yes, you are right the epoch and time period are important to understand. For me I think one should not try to read too much into the composers personal feelings, focusing more on the logic of a given work. It is a nuanced aspect of music interpretation.
@@time8871 Yes, that of course. To me, both are important, it depends on the case I guess.
@@mariam_much Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I enjoy your content.
Great vídeo! It's inspiring and interesting. What researchers/studies are you mentioning at 8:32?
where is this countryside? that house looks so lovely and so centered. feels like a stable place to create things and put them out there.
This is my place in Patardzeuli village

Ohmygod
you make me wish i continued with the french horn. i wasn't great, but the further i become from having given it up, the further i get from picking it back up again. as you have such beautiful ownership over your work i understand if you would not like to share but may i ask what camera you use?
I use iPhone 11 and canon vixia HF R60, thank you so much for watching
you're gorgeous
Thank you😭
Woooo the upload I’m late tho my bad
Name of plant you use for tea ? Mint?
Yes
you said in the video its important to study the environment the composer grew up in, does that mean you are at a composers childhood home or just some random country side?
It's my house in countryside, thanks for thinking that it looks like composer's home😆❤️
I think i love you
❤️
What is the language written in the notebook at 12:13?
Georgian language, one of the oldest
I think I belong with a pianist
haha❤️ good for you!
is a musician a translater, reproducer, interpreter, or synthesist?

can you play Gabunia? Lockwood book 😅hehe, try Albert Faurot book, much more entertaining 😊
Its just refreshing to see that others also obsessively devote themself to art and diving into its full embodiment 𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪
