Shanghainese food are known to be on the sweeter side, so you're def not wrong! All the dishes on the I-Shanghai Delight menu are VERY VERY authentic, you should try them when you get a chance.

So happy to see Ding Ding Dumpling in this video. 100% my favorite xiao long bao place in Fremont. I tried I-Shanghai dumpling house last month and it was also very good. Their Sheng Jian Baos are really good!

I eat the soup dumpling differently, I separate the soup and the skin and meat and then at Chinese vinegar so 😋
I usually pour the soup out into a soup spoon but I didn’t have one LOL and for the sake of the video just drinking the soup directly from the dumpling is easier 😂

I've been to that taiyaki place a few years ago!! It was before the somisomi chains opened up in the bay, so taiyaki places were so limited here. Definitely felt like my friend and I were the only people there who weren't getting our hair done so it was a bit awkward LOL but the taiyaki was great! I know they also sell their taiyaki in Mitsuwa, though I'm not sure if they still do.

Dumpling Depot in Sunnyvale has surprisingly tasty XLB. The skin is fairly thin (but not the thinnest), and there is decent amount of soup, but not crazy lot of soup, but the highlight is the flavor. The taste of the soup and the meat is just so good.

Got to check out Bing's dumpling in north Fremont! Just as good if not better than Din Ding. They also have other great dumplings there (spicy chili oil shrimp wonton) and beef noodle soup.

You should do an Afghan food tour of the Bay Area! Especially in Fremont and Hayward, there is so much good Afghani food! The best dishes are their mantu, bolani, Kabuli pulao with a lamb shank, and their kabobs OMG please I love Afghani food in the Bay! I think De Afghanan in Fremont and Ghazni in Hayward are great places to start
