- How to program the Honda Odyssey so that all doors and tailgate will unlock together when you step on the brake and put the minivan in Park. By default only the driver's door unlocks when you do this.

I want to know how to have the doors STAY locked after stopping & put in park.

Yeah, it was helpful for me, too - because I wanted to have my doors REMAIN locked when I shift to park. It's a HUGE security risk to have auto-unlocking doors. It took me a few tries to get the setting that I wanted - ALL doors remain locked when shift to park - but I got there. I wish Honda would have this configurable in the BCM via HMS/scan tool, but they do not, unfortunately.

Beware: On the surface the default feature may seem annoying however this is a safety feature to prevent opening all doors everytime the vehicle is put in Park. I'm having a weird issue on our 10' civic. I'm having the non-unlock issue, but only with both of the passenger doors. When I tried this I dont get the past click when popping the locks. Any suggestions?

I want it to never unlock when I shift to P. I could get to not unlock other doors but it still unlocks my door

This worked on my 2012 Honda Jazz. After 4 years of frustration my life just became sooo much better!
I didnt want my doors to unlock all at once but my passenger door was locked and this trick unlocked it!!! Thank you no more climbing over driver's side.

Worked for me! On a 2014 Honda Pilot. A few notes:
1. When he says turn the key to on, I turned it to setting with 2 notches
2. After 5 seconds, I heard 1 click, not sure if I heard 2 clicks
3. After an additional 5 seconds (total of 10 seconds), I heard a second click
4. When he says turn key to accessory, that's the setting with 1 notch
5. Before turning key to off, I turned it back to the setting with 2 notches (this was from different video).

For the Honda 07 this didn’t work I had to do a few extra steps according to the manual:
1. Turn key to II (do not start engine just put key to number two)
2. Put E Brake on as well as hold brake
3. Put it into anything BUT Park (I did N)
4. Then hold the unlock button (while door is closed) for the 10 seconds getting the extra clicks
5. Put back in Park
6. Turn Key to Accesory (1) within 5 seconds
This finally worked for me! Hope it helps someone else

I have the opposite problem - for safety reasons I DON'T want any of my doors unlocked when the car is in "park", or when I open the driver door to get out - that's how it's set right now and I hate this setting!
Will play with the clicks, hopefully I will be able to set it to keep everything (and everyone) locked in the car until they open the doors or I unlock them manually.
I did this but now my tailgate button inside the car on the dash no longer works. The only way I can open my tailgate now is using the key fob. Even the button on the back stopped working now

I don’t really mind auto lock but my Honda tries to auto lock again when it’s already locked
my 5th gen honda accord had this problem the only door that i can use now is only the driverside door when i press unlock it wont unlock the back door and my passenger seat door...I try to hold the unlock button for 5 sec it only make like a clicking noises in the dashboard

Did not work on a 2007 Honda Civic EX, not sure if it's because of the age of the car, or due to some kind of defect or maybe because it's a manual or something, but it did not work
We tired for 3 days, We follow manual then today I check on you tube finally got it thank you sooooo much !!!!!

• Tried to open Honda Accord 2004 driver side door…the doors sounded like they were going to open but immediately snapped back to locked.
• I tried a couple of more times…then I thought it was a problem with the fob. I tried another fob, same result.
• I thought well it is not a fob problem.
• I tried to open the driver’s side door by timing pulling the handle immediately as soon as I hit the button on the fob, this did not work.
• I tried this on the back door and pulled the handle immediately as I hit to button on the fob, it worked on the three other doors.
• I was not able to get the drivers side open in that manner.
• I then thought I could lean over the passenger’s side and pull up the lock button on the driver’s door, but it would not budge. It was like it was cemented.
• I can’t remember if I tried the lock button on the door if I did I did not work.
• I had an appointment, so I got a ride…
• When I got home I looked it up on the internet…it said try, fob, the lock button, pulling up the lock tab, and oh yes the key…da!
• I used the key it opened…I don’t know if it did a reset but then the lock button worked, the fobs worked, pulling up on the lock tab worked.
• I went back out and tried the fob several times again…it worked each time. But, I think that I hear a slight sound after the door lock tab pops up…Like the action is strained or possibly going to fail.
• I don’t know whether to have it worked on or wait until it happens again.
OK it has happened again…but this time the door key did not work to open the door…got the other door open tried to lean across and open by using the inside lock/unlock button and lifting the driver side latch tab to no avail…had to crawl over the center console to drive back to house and crawl back out…will try the other two keys in a minute…
My 2007 Ridgeline manual is incorrect re programming the doors; unusual for Honda, but it does provide Honda Motors extra income when frustrated owners find diligence in following the manual's instructions doesn't work.

Tyvm! It is so aggravating for the kids to try to get out of the van! I'm having a problem synchronizing my interior lights for when I open my door my lights come on and when I shut my door I want my lights to turn off and I cannot get them synchronize for some reason I used to be able to but now I can't do you have any suggestions or can you do a video on that? By the way all of my lights turn on by pushing them on

Honda pilot 03 did all of that heard no clicks at 5 or 10 seconds.
This also worked on my Honda civic 2011. I originally had it set to just my drivers side door

I can't get it to work on mine either. Like you, I only hear the "click" from initially pressing the lock/unlock button, but never hear the clicks from the 5 second or 10 second mark

My mum's 2016 Honda Jazz won't open any of the passenger doors. Neither from the inside or outside. I've tried this but never hear the second click when holding the door unlock button. Any suggestions?

So frustrating. Not sure how my lock setting got change, my kid does play in the car a lot and my battery died as result of him playing in the car. But now only the drivers side door unlocks in park. I want all doors to unlock. I followed these instructions (turned on to the 2 notches, brake, held unlock on drivers side door down) and I hear zero clicks no matter how long I hold it down. 2011 honda pilot... any suggestions?

It’s for 2011 odyssey to 2017 odyssey and only for odyssey I think
I have 07 odyssey and got it to do the extra clicks thing under the following conditions: car is not started but key is turned to II (2), and then had the drivers DOOR OPEN.
However, still didn’t worked, it changed the setting to now unlock NO doors including the drivers door upon shift to P
