I didn't got MIB and purples eat plenty of my projectiles. I find the Sun Avatar less impressive than its supposed strength suggests. I played this with Adora, and honestly, the price and the map you pick really hold this tower back.
What are you experiences with sun avatar? As mentioned in the video several times it has fallen off in popularity greatly so i'm curious if you have used it recently or frequently and if so how so? I think it still has some good power but its in a weird limbo of having weaknesses that regular players wouldn't know how to deal with or not care about dealing with and also it just necessarily isn't that great.
Most of the time I feel like I would rather go with something that has a good midgame tier 4 and a late game tier 5 but sun avatar is still cool in my book. I think the last time I used a sun avatar was actually on pats pond because turning the starting dart monkey into a cape super was too tempting with the positioning.
how did sun avatars get weaker? i only remember like 2 separate price buffs occuring, one indirectly from plasma which didn't affect sav pierce and the other a direct buff in like v30 sure other stuffs gotten stronger so due to powercreep its weaker in comparison but am i missing something major here? the pbrew price buff was also huge for them if you like running pbrew sav the main reason i wouldnt run sav is because robo is literally sav but better
Quick unrelated question. if fire rate makes alch buff run out faster, then why do towers like tack zone and bloonjtisu some of the best things to buff? But then elite defender doesn’t seem to do well with alch. Thanks for your time, love the vids 👍 Edit: sorry in advance if you went over this already in your chimps guide I probably just missed it
Because they each have a ton of projectiles per volley, and they only count as one shot despite firing a lot more than 1 shot per volley. Tack zone fires 32 shots per volley, and the +1 damage means that is +32 damage, but that counts as one instance of attacking so it doesn't use up too much of the alch buff, whereas with elite defender it is one projectile fired extremely fast, so the buff only lasts for about 10 projectiles or so. TL;DR more projectiles per shot good
Short answer: Because even though those towers use up the Alch buff quickly, the buff generates a lot of extra damage in that short time. This is because of their high projectile count, as the other commenter already explained. For 025 elite defender, the buff applies extra damage to all targets hit by the shrapnel, which is ok but not too good. In many situations the extra damage is worth the low price of an alch buff, but it is very unreliable because it is used up so fast.
@@TheOnlyTrueEnteBasically correct, but I have to strongly disagree with you on the part about the Alc buffing of the Elite Defender. The argument about reliability doesn't convince me, then you wouldn't be allowed to buff fast-firing towers, which goes against the synergy. 025 Elite Defender creates 5 shrapnel projectiles with only 2 damage and 2 pierce each, which, in combination with the extremely high rate of fire, benefit greatly from Berserker Brew and for which it is even worth using stronger stim. Therefore, an Alc buff for the 025 is actually mandatory. (cf. Sun Avatar with only 3 projectiles and 1 damage, but 6-9 pierce each)
Sun Avatar for me just feels so outclassed compare to Robo Monkey and Tech Terror. Sure, it’s better with damage and pierce buffs, but the raw power isn’t anywhere near as great as Robo Monkey’s cheap price ratio or Tech Terror’s massive lategame potential with it’s annihilation ability.
"I... Am Sun Avatar."

the sacrifice mechanic would be quite cool in a chimps game if downsized
Savatars have an interesting synergy with Adora, but it's gotten way less relevant due to her blood sac getting a massive cooldown nerf
its pretty good. I covered it in my adora video but I should have mentioned that here
I think that the "Ultimate Banana Central Stratagy" would be a good april fools video

"Thats why he's mvp, that's what I'm talking about, that's why he's the goat, THE GOATTTT"
I never really used sun avatar or super monkeys in general it looks really cool i might give it a try, looking foward to the corvus guide
My first Ancient Portal chimps run I used a p brew sun avatar

Just too expensive. Robo or Dank knight is way easier to build into.
Spam on Dark Castle.
I thinks it's mid, carrier flagship is much better
Discounts make it totally worth imo
Mid tower. No reason to use it over other towers. I'd just use other towers instead of avatar.

Power creep and shifting meta id say. They aren’t weak in their current state but need a lot of attention.
also hi
oh I didn't realize it was tooprood himself
