Currently, 40% of corn is consumed by ethanol production. Stop production of ethanol and the use of corn for other purposes can nearly double.

Plants free of water deficit events more efficiently absorb available plant nutrients enabling plants to achieve their maximum genetic potential. SWRT membranes installed below plant root systems retain water where it falls, providing continuous delivery of
drought-free periods up to 3 times longer than intensely irrigated control sands without root zone water retention membranes (Guber et al, 2016).

It confuses me why we look for ways too feed all those soon-to-be humans instead of looking for a way to make sure they don't start existing in the first place. We're already overpopulated as it is... * smh *

Using contraceptives is a good start. More sex ed for those that need it.
Access to health care and equality for women so they themselves can choose when to become pregnant, would be even better. Of course the issue is a lot deeper than this but... can't really cover it all with one comment 😐

It's not confusing at all. Regardless of population growth rate, you still have to produce food. What's confusing to me is, it seems like you're suggesting to halt the current population level.
Still, even if we do manage to keep it at that level, food still has to be produced.

The Earth is not over populated. While the world population has increased since 2000 there are fewer (by percentage and by numbers) hungry people than there were then. Why? Because we’re producing more food per person than we were then.
The world population is expected to level off at about 9 billion by 2050. The Earth can easily feed 10 times that number.
