Where’s Zheng’s win over Swiatek in Olympics? That has got to be the biggest upset all year. We now see that Zheng is in good form but that match was what really started all of that good form.
@@tsswi It was her first ever win against Iga at a venue she hadn't lost at since 2021. Zheng of course went on to snatch the gold medal that many felt was meant for Iga, and Zheng basically gained superpowers from that gold medal as she went on an incredible late-season surge of form which culminated with her Asian Swing run to the Wuhan final, winning the 500 in Tokyo and reaching the final of the WTA Finals on tournament debut.
@@hash_a33 STOP how is that even possible??? That's more than 4 sets of errors from Burrage (obviously the score never plays out like that but that's still an unbelievable number)
@@Maxon-x3t I wouldn’t say awful but she is inconsistent. She can play well imo. She broke top 100 last year but then got an injury and is still recovering, hopefully she’ll come back but personally I don’t think she will, perhaps she’ll stay around 190 rank
The consistency of the WTA has improved I would say, I guess those dark days between 2016-2019 when anyone could be a top player at any round is finally over.
Imagine Iga being lower ranked and causing some upsets herself... Now everyone is only about someone upsetting her, not about her winning 60+ matches as the only one in WTA for 3rd straight season... This is the problem, when top players win they are expected to win, when they lose they are only criticized...
Kenin losing to absolute scrubs then beating a top player (or at least playing top 5 tennis) will never not confuse tf out of me 😂...like gurl, figure it out.
@@efloyio Before the start of the Asian tour in Beijing I predicted that Krejcikova was going to fall in the draw next to Jaqueline Cristian saying another defeat and ended up passing.
Zheng defeating Swiatek?? Schmiedlova defeating Paolini (instead of her win against Krejcikova)?? Shuai Zhang defeating Emma Navarro?? Putting, for example, the defeat from Ostapenko before these three matches is really hilarious lol
That Noskova-Swiatek outcome is the upset of the year to me. I was sitting there in the arena, falling asleep until mid second set and then couldn’t believe what happened.
I were in the Stadium both First and Second match. The crowd went wild especially on Rybakina upset. Then, followed by Medvedev’s match which ended around 4am in empty stadium.
I feel Rybakina's confidence was completely shattered by that Blinkova match at the AO. She just could not win a tiebreak for a while and ended the year with her worst tiebreak record since 2021. In fact, she hasn't won any tiebreaks against top 10, let alone any first set tiebreaks for over a year now. Quite a disaster after she was near unbeatable in tiebreaks in 2023 with a 17-5 record. You can definitely see why she hired Goran Ivanisevic (who famously refined Djokovic's serve and won 9 Slams under him) to her team for 2025, because her serve really let her down a lot in 2024. I'll never forgive the sorcery that Blinkova committed and that she should pay for her sins.
I knew most of these but not the Ostapenko one. As an Ostapenko fan that's pretty bad. Up a double break in the third, lose it but still have four match points, and you (I assume) crumble out of frustration and get bageled in the tiebreak. Speaking of which, how did she lose that point at 9:34, did she hit the ball into the ground?
Considering how poorly Rybakina did in tiebreaks this year, you can trace it back to that match because it seems to have marked where her confidence got destroyed. No wonder she poached Goran Ivanisevic just months after he left Djokovic's camp.
Excited for 2025 wta : -With the big five (swiatek ,sabalenka gaug ,zheng ,rybakina) looking more experienced and developped than ever -the rest of the top 10 (pegula ,paulini navarro ,collins ,kreckjikova kasatkina) really looking more "year long consistant" than previous years -the return of osaka(with mouratoglou) jabeur ,bencic and kivitova I think next season should be a competitive year for the top players and that the top 10 are going to be more familiar with that spot.

For me upset of the year is Zheng def. Swiatek at the Olympics. Iga was heavy favourite for the title, especially it was played at RG
Considering the ranking, it's nothing special.
Schmiedlova defeating Jasmine Paolini deserved to be there as well
yes! that upset instead of the BK upset
that rybakina ao defeat still hurts me :(
It completely destroyed her confidence, just couldn't win a tiebreak for months. Ended up with her worst tiebreak record in a season since 2021!
Where’s Zheng’s win over Swiatek in Olympics? That has got to be the biggest upset all year. We now see that Zheng is in good form but that match was what really started all of that good form.
ranking-wise it wasn't that big of an upset
@@tsswi It was her first ever win against Iga at a venue she hadn't lost at since 2021. @ that’s why I said ranking-wise
Ostapenko's Face is so funny when she Serve lol
That Bouzkova v Sabalenka match was horrendous 😭 62 unforced errors is almost unheard of
I remember Burrage had one match against Martincova, she had 103 unforced errors and martincova had 54. They had 49 winners between them 😭
@@hash_a33 STOP how is that even possible??? That's more than 4 sets of errors from Burrage (obviously the score never plays out like that but that's still an unbelievable number)
Well when you're a ballbasher against one of the most prominent pushers it happens
@hasana1051 Burrage is awful. Only time she gets into tournaments is when the UK government her a wildcard

Is Krejcikova losing really an upset? We know all she does it peak at one or two tournaments and does nothing for the rest of the year.
She's a seeded player and lost to someone outside the top 100 when she just won her 2nd GS lol?

Golubic defeating Krejikova at the French Open would also be a contender
Jessica Pegula vs Aleksandra Krunic deserved to be #1 and Penko vs Stakusic, the game had 17 double faults for both
Not really. Pegula was injured and it was her first match since the injury.
Burel vs pegula was shocking. Jessica in good form from last year and always does well at the AO.
Can you please do top 10 best matches of the year

Ostapenko has fans???? Shes so f toxiq and unfair
That number one still haunts me, the fact that they made history is amazing

last one was a flipping jumpscare
Gabi Ruse is definitely someone to keep an eye on in 2025.
Lulu sun vs zheng wimbledon. Qualifer beating no5
What is with #4?

i am glad you put Queen Wen in the big five lol.
BTW, I believe Collins will not play in 2025 WTA tour.
12:25 is crazy
An aryna fan i was shocked by bouzkova loss injured v andreeva however they are dangerous players
Why? She defaults to her regular ball bashing when against pushers who get everything back like Bouzkova
等不及想看2024年所有冠军盘点了
Putinseva beats Swiatek and Gauff
Iga is not that good on grass, so there wasn't any surprise
@@user-kq2xj1gl4yIga was no.1 and won Rome+ Madrid+RG even if she isn’t that good in grass losing against Putintseva is shocking
@@AbdoukarimmNot really.
The only shock on this list is Blinkova to be honest.
Nononono! It should be Olympic semi Zheng defeat Iga!
Where's Cornet's upset againist Teichmann? 🤨
How?
Kalinskaya win Swiatek Dubai 😢
Mirra Andreeva win Sabalenka RG 😮
I wanted to do this now that Finals are over but it will look like I am copying you😢
Just proves pushers against Saba, she makes way too many unforced errors. This would never happen to Serena
Avanesyan beating zheng rg
that was a heart-breaking loss for Queenwen, even more devastating than the loss to Sun Lulu in Wimbledon.
Это единственное что сделала адекватное Блинкова ЗА ГОД!!!!! Позорище
krejcikova upset???
Taraudde defeated badosa
I'm showing their only match being won by Badosa, on Jan. 29 of this year in Hua Hin: 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. Close by Tararudee, but not an upset.
Самое большое открытие этого года это Мирра Андреева,настоящая теннисная звезда ⭐️
Siniakova win against Gauff?
not too shocking, siniakova is a top doubles player so
As big a fan as I am for Iga I'm beginning to think she has been hugely overrated. I think it's Sabalenka teeam time.
overrated and she still won the most titles in 2024 despite not playing for 2 months🤣🤣
Overrated but has the best win ratio...
@@olita.a We'll see in five or ten years time. I'm beginning to think she is a one trick pony.
@@radpopl that doesn't even make sense, how she can be overrated and has the best win ratio? just stop🤣
