Good to hear. had the Clifton 6 or 7, can' t remember, and always found that shoe felt pretty lifeless. Maybe they' ve changed up their EVA formula somehow.
I’m hoping over the next 2/3 years we might see the peba based midsole they’re using on the rocket x2 appear in the daily trainers as well, that’ll be a game changer for them!
Well done on getting out when under the weather! Managed to hurt my back whilst reaching to remove the dishwasher filter at the weekend a sign that old age is officially here. Hoka have made two of the shoes I've enjoyed the most: the Rincon 2 and the Mach 4 but that foam just gives up the ghost so quickly I am wary of buying again.
I like the the longrun tests! Had a dreadful longrun experience in both Deviate Nitro 2 and Adios Pro 2 and switching more back to more normal daily trainer for longruns. High stack racing shoes just gets too hard for my knees for some reason. Gonna test Vomero 16 and Noosa Tri 14 for my next ones. Is experiencing more pounding on legs normal with plated shoes? I thought it would be the opposite.
I think it can take time to condition the legs to them in all honesty… it’s worth persisting with if you intended on racing longer distances with them though so you don’t experience any issues during any races!
I bought a pair of these to replace my old easy day shoe, Clifton 7’s, however they’ve ended up replacing my Mach 4’s as a z2 / longer run shoe… I’ve even pushed down close to threshold pace in them….
Really enjoying the more off the cuff, quicker / shorter clips via your Extra channel, thank you!
Thanks!

They are pretty versatile aren’t they! Good to hear you’ve used yours even close to threshold pace, that’s brilliant!
@@fodrunnerextra although maybe it’s because my threshold pace isn’t that fast! 🤣 Definitely a versatile shoe though!
