I didn't even realize they have the "Shadowmaker" MV with the promo in the middle of the song still uploaded on YT. The official MV was re-uploaded back in 2022 with the promo removed. Arguably, this is Lovebites' best MV so far. As far as I can remember, Asami has performed that high pitch scream towards the end of the song in every LIVE clip that I have watched.

Brings back memories. After the original vdo came out the band gave an interview (coinciding with the release of the album "Awakening from Abyss") and they talked about how impressively thorough mi-ya's (Miyako's) demos were. That's always been one of her strengths, in her other bands as well. Miyako said she wanted the crowd to sing along in the chorus, so she made sure it was mid-range so the crowd wouldn't be straining to hit high notes.
I first saw this video in late 2017, was hooked immediately. A few weeks later, I had the pleasure of meeting Miyako at NAMM and became a fan for life.
Oh, that is a great experience, you are the most lucky guy. Everybody fell in love with Lovebites with this MV.

All the band members and staff selected songs created by the girls (and their cooperating composers), and the project moved on to the next step.
The next step is to write and record the lyrics.
At the same time, I will start practicing new songs.
Some songs may also be performed on tour.
Now the fun begins.

It's good to remember that this video Came out in yhe Fall of 2017. So this is baby lovebites. Talk about a promise of things to come , It is amazing that they were this good way back then. They have all always been great!

This is the video which got the world's attention. It was the second one they posted on YT (there is a better version without the advert in the middle). Midori's cheeky grin while she shreds is one of their signature moments, for sure.The entire thing left people picking their jaws up off the floor--we are used to them now, but no one had seen anything like this before.

I hear ya headbanger! I'm a little younger at 57, but these ladies of the east have re-invigorated my love for rock/metal/pop/funk/jazz-fusion in a way that I have rarely experienced since my early 20's. I saw thrash-punk band Otoboke Beaver in Atlanta a few nights ago and spent half the show in the mosh-pit, where I had no prior intention of going! Same thing happened to me at Babymetal and Hanabie! Too much excitement and energy to release! When LOVEBITES comes to Atlanta, I have to channel my energies differently, so I that I can fully appreciate the greatness, AND not lose my shoes!🙄🤣

wow i can't believe that you found the original of this mv with the promo with the tour dates, etc. it had been replaced with a cleaned up version quite a while ago - didn't even know this one was still out there. seemed weird at first but i got used to it with the ads. i never did figure out why m+m switched stage positions later on as this was their early configuration

LOVEBITES are indeed a special band. I’ve been listening to Heavy Metal pretty much since the dawn of Heavy Metal, and I’m enraptured every time I watch/hear LOVEBITES play.
This song in particular has such an epic sound, it’s stunning. It’s hard to believe it comes from their first album.

Those wallpapers would be a must have for me!😁 I'm 60 now and I just can't stop bobbing my head to them, I love these ladies. I was blown away the first time I heard this one. Shadowmaker is a badass song and still one of my goto's. I agree on the reference to Still of the night and also that it's one of the very best. Love you man❤
This band is ridiculous, every time. this song has plenty of depth in chords, melodies and easter eggs. Plus great visuals. Their presence seems so posey, yet we know that it's 100% real. How do they do it?

The first video and actual baby for Lovebites was "Don't Bite the Dust" July 2017, the "Shadowmaker September 2017 and it sparked a frenzy with many folks everywhere else other than here in America. There was a lot of hatred in the beginning and many couldn't stand Asami's voice, it didn't fit with metal music according to many back then. Look at them now getting so much more popular. Speaking of Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" was written by Adrian Vandenberg when he was with the band, now he has his own band "Vandenberg" and they cover several songs and "Still of the Night is one they did in the show I saw in San Antonio, the singer is a Swedish singer and has an uncanny resemblance voice to Dave Coverdale.

Too many folks will begin to complain if you end up doing the audio version of songs or albums, I'm game for it all maybe start with the first EP "The Lovebties EP", and then so on

With this song, the ladies literally bit me and dragged me into their lair for good after years of resisting because I was actually never a huge fan of speed or thrash metal. How stupid, prejudiced and closed-minded I was.... 🙈 That guitar section always gives me goosebumps and the fact that they can play it live with a smile on their face like it's nothing, I find incredibly impressive and catapults these ladies way up there for me when it comes to the biggest and best known bands in this genre, no matter what era. 🤘🏻🐺🤘🏻
In Japan, MVs are also often referred to as PVs (promo videos), which I think this version illustrates quite well why. 🤭 On their own channel, the ladies released the version without the marketing break just last year. :)

Another song to check out is the studio version of Spellbound, which in my opinion is the only song that I think is better than the live version. It can be found by searching TH-cam for Golden Destination EP, and the song starts six minutes in and also following that is the song Puppet On Strings.
Every time I watch this video I have a couple of questions -
1) How the hell can Miyako play like this having never had a guitar lesson in her life ?
&
2) How does Haruna get through this song without needing oxygen ( and how does she find the time to twirl her sticks ) ?

I had forgotten how annoying the promo break was in this music video. In my opinion, this is the first of the Miyako masterpieces. I hope that Shadowmaker is on their ProgPower setlist, along with When Destinies Align, Swan Song and Soldier Stands Solitarily which are three of Miyako's other masterpieces (I doubt they play Dystopia Symphony).

Great reaction RC. They withdrew their merchandise from the market?! I can think of one possible reason. Since Miho left the band, they might not be able to sell things with Miho's images. This MV without the promotion is my favorite Lovebites MV or even one of the favorites of all their songs.
