That soundtrack was awesome: I would love to see a "where are they now" feature on where all the bands that were featured in the documentary and on the soundtrack are right now. Sure REM and the B-52s are still popular and followed but whatever happened to Dreams So Real, His or Hearse, Love Tractor, Flat Duo Jets and all the others?? I recall renting a dvd a few years back when the "Movie Gallery" chain still had a pulse about the Athens music scene entering the new millenium and it had a piece about the members of Pylon hanging out in Athens; someone working at a Kinko's like place and another in a used record store; really interesting. Too bad someone like NPR, VH1 or someone else doesn't take a stab at a project or documentary that would update us on the Athens scene and help us fans (now no longer in our 20's but somewhere within a few years of the old five-zero......, Jesus Christ time flies) catch up on some of the bands featured on the documentary. Thanks for posting this.
TampaFanatic1 im 23 and have lived in athens for the past 5 years and 20 mins down the road since i was 12. biggest athens bands right now are :reptar, future birds, dead confederate, widespread panic of course, washed out, and a bunch of others i cant remember the music listings in the flagpole are always 6 pages long with all the shows that go on
I just noticed the matching Tele and Strat...the legend continues.
Super post! This documentary turned me onto such great art. Love Tractor reminds me of all the great, humble musicians I've met over the years.
The vid is cool to see all the places in athens back in the day
I love love tractor! Mike Richmond is the absolute best
Love you guys.
SUCH a GREAT signature sound!
Awesome song from a killer soundtrack! Thanks for posting.

Underrated
I remember when their instrumental album came out. My friend Tim and I liked it a lot. Tho we did think it a bit odd that they had no vocals at all.
Clarinet is fun & easy...
That song reminds me a bit of Pylon
I miss Andrew Carter.
