to be honest, this also speaks poorly of the advertisers. If the big corporations didn't see this coming, they clearly have not been paying attention or doing their research.
No, they have the same problem the higher ups in Hollywood/TV/Gaming Companies have... Their heads are so far up their asses they're getting high off their own fumes. That or they're simply delusional.
A lot of this business would have been done a long time ago back before anyone knew how badly Disney would do.
They’ve all probably got the same kind of Didn’t Earn It loving directors on their boards too.
They get refunds if Disney can not deliver and i guess it comes with additional compensation depemding on the agreement. It would be dumb without guaranteed views, now it´s cheap.
They never really do. Mega corps live in the delusion that they lead the public.
One could argue Bob Iger willfully defrauded these companies because he did say that they were getting out of the political debate. They never did that and doubled down on it. All those businesses know it too.
They won't sue. These companies do business all the time and this is the crap that always happens. They want to keep doing business so they'll just demand money back and look to put more ads elsewhere. That's bad enough for Disney. Disney must make shows that people want to watch or else they will lose out on a lot of ad money. This is good for viewers as there is accountability.
I'm a retired Aerospace Engineer with the big defense contractor in Orlando but I am now working at Magic Kingdom in Security. I've never seen a place so woke and so tied to the hip DEI and the alphabet people. Every department has their pronoun boards and there are pride celebrations and posters everywhere in the tunnel. I even had to walk through a pride celebration in the tunnel with homosexual cast members dancing and cavorting about with company sponsored music and decorations....we have men with beards walking around in dresses on stage....the place is disgusting.
I used to work at WDW. It was an amazing place to work. It's heartbreaking to see how far they have fallen. We first went to Disneyland in 1955 when I was 3 years old. To work at the front desk at the Grand Floridian was a dream come true. "Go woke, go broke" is absolutely true!!!😢
Advertising partners need to be careful; Disney may have made up some random legal jargon in their contract, and the next thing you know, you can’t sue them if something unfortunate happens at one of their restaurants. 😆
I’d hope the advertising partners had great lawyers look over those contracts
@@Catherine.Dorian.I bet the advertisers have better lawyers than Disney's current crop of idiots who likely got their licenses from mail order collages!!
Or at least lawyers with ACTUAL functional brains.
Or on one of their channels.
Speaking of unfortunate at one of their restaurants..oh about 25 years ago, my friend and I went to see Mickey and Minnie vacation to Florida. When eating breakfast with the characters 3 tables down, there was a group/family of 4 two women and two little girls all dressed in the same dress pattern. Suddenly, one of the little girls does the universal sign of choking. My friend and I thought surely one of the characters would handle this bc we're on vacation. But no characters were present. We got up. I had to grap the little girl and start the heimlich maneuver. I thought it was going to be a put her on the ground one when suddenly after a good hard thrust, a whole piece of bacon comes flying out of her!! I'm talking a 5-inch piece of bacon! It was amazing absolutely no one knew what to do. Hopefully people went home and took a basic CPR course. Totally forgot that moment until I read an unfortunate restaurant comment. Life is full of little moments woven into a lifetime.
Disney+ subscribers should demand refunds for all the 💩 content they paid for
Aren’t they paying like $1.99 the last few months? It wasn’t much, but still wasn’t worthwhile.
They could just cancel.
Funny that disney plus, i dont even watch it for english stuff, just korean ill binge all of it then probably cancel soon.
I’ve got the old Verizon plan that gives you the Disney bundle for free. Otherwise, I don’t think I’d have it.
@raevj it's $179 a year!
Bob Iger shouldn’t have been the head of Disney from square one
I’ve been saying this since the early 2010s when he started buying all the IPs.
This.
Correct
How can you say that? His average overspend above market value for Pixar, Lucas, and Marvel was only 50%. That's a good deal maker right? Spend 50% more than market, that's why the Fox acquisition resulting in $20+ billion over market seems like such a deal. He is a monster negotiator. Of course that is all from the other side's perspective. Iger has made many companies want to sell to DIS so that they can really, really, really cash out.
Well he bought post Pixar Marvel Star Wars and Fox. That's what's powering 80% of Disney earnings. Let's be honest. Mickey 🐭 and goofy haven't been relevant in a long time. Without those IP Disney would be extinct 🦖
Absolutely! I have 4 teens who love Marvel and old SW, Solo, Mando…
What you say is 100% correct! They DESTROYED SW and Marvel. I tried to preview the acolyte for my kids…did not make it through Ep 3. Same thing with Skeleton Crew.
Wont even touch Agatha.
ABC Mafia, confusion, BS.
What is the reason for skeleton crew? I havent seen it but heard it was ok for kids. Thanks!
Worst CEO in American history
What Had heard that Disney going put ABC News up for Sell in 2025....
they took it off the Market last July..
I agree with you… Iger has done more damage than anyone ever
That depends on your expectation ... because if you are a communist and expect Bob Iger to destroy the company to demoralise the population, he is the best one you can get.
I quit Disney plus because of their woke and abc affiliate news who was against Trump
Disney has damaged their brand so much in these last contentious years. Most of the audiences have just walked away from them. They wonder why they're having a hard time getting advertisements.
💯 my family doesn't even think about seeing anything Disney makes or buying anything Disney sells. I only watch these videos out of morbi curiosity and schadenfreude
And constantly attacking and belittling the consumer doesn't help matters. Then Hollywood does the exact same crap.
@GladDestronger Yup! Especially these last 2 years.
Bob Iger and his board of directors have destroyed Disney.
They should be sued into the ground.
Doesn’t Bob (I know everything) Iger want to run for President sometime in the future?
If this is true, can you imagine what he’d do to the country!
@@GladDestrongerHollyweird is dying and they’re just waking up to the fact and can’t work out why people don’t want to watch the absolute crud they’re releasing.
Look at all the names that are being released on a certain List!
I don’t think they realise that a huge chunk of the audience they’ve lost isn’t looking to return or even looking at them at all anymore.
I have zero interest in any Disney products anymore.
You nailed it. They've alienated me to the extent that I won't patronize them ever again and there's nothing they could do to win me back. They could offer me free stuff and I would decline the offer.
Network TV also did the same for me and Cable TV. I cut the cord in 2017 and haven't looked back, and won't be returning even when they offer me "specials" to come back.
Censored again. Seriously TH-cam? Thanks for another example for my already LARGE collection. I'll be writing the seated 2025 Congress about censorship come next year.
Ain't modern day_fascism grand!
Not just that, but that same huge chunk of their audience they lost was introduced to Disney by former generations of audiences. And, if that huge chunk of their audience they lost isn't going to their movies, watching their shows or buying their products, that *also* means they aren't introducing their children to the company, and are likely even telling them that their new movies are garbage, poisoning the well, cutting the link and causing a further loss of potential audiences. Not exactly an ideal position to put yourself in, when you are a company that *depends* on such a connection to financially survive!
Bobbie and Kathy have DESTROYED this company!
LOOK AT THE STOCK PRICE!!! 😝
Both the Russian ruble and Disney stock remain more valuable than logic and common sense would suggest.
Refunds... give me a break. Sleep with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
Yeah the sponsors need to take some of the blame. If you look at all the interviews and trailers for the Acolyte, see how Disney treats their customers, and still decides to advertise on Disney+ then that's on them.
Ads are a stupid, annoying waste of time. I only see 2 types of ads:
1. For something I have 0 interest in & will not buy anyway.
2. Something common that I already know about like Doritos or Oreos. Who needs an ad for that?
I rarely ever see ads for something I didn't know about & will actually go buy.
🎯🎯
I can hack the 4-second countdown, but when they have those 20+ seconds I leave the program I'm watching for something else, then come back to it later. Ads drove me from cable; I have blockers on my desktop but can't get them on free YT tv.
The Problem is the Type of Advertisements. Nobody would mind if Coke or Pepsi would do a free Game for Advertisements. Multiversus shouldn't even count a flop because it is literally an interactive Advertisement Board for Warner Brothers and Friends.
Disney is finding out when most of US turn away from The Message.
And Hollywood
If advertisers are moving money to a dying platform, then it must mean that the platform they moved from is dead.
Mostly they're moving to other streamers. They're probably moving ads they bought from Disney to ABC over Disney+ because Disney owns both. When Disney+ fails, Disney has to make up by playing more ads somewhere so ESPN and ABC are the logical places. The sponsors will be more likely to buy more from Netflix, Paramout+ and Amazon Prime next time. ABC is still a lot more dead than Disney+.
One would be grossly overpaying for Disney+ even if you paid nothing at all for the subscription.
D+ kicked off the year with Echo. What a banger of a year.
😂🤣👍
Poor, poor Disney. Gettin' big boy tummy slammed by advertisers, the public, and everybody else.
I cut all my services and found alternatives
I like to give credit when credit is due…Pro, this was a well balanced (opinions from the panel) discussion and you moderate this video very well. Excellent job.
FINALLY! They realize Iger's been cooking the books, and he can't butter them up anymore. All that's missing is the "idiot sandwich" meme, lol
I dont believe the "watch to the 3rd episode and drop it" matters....they got your money already for the month
Less viewers does mean less money for ads which will hurt Disney a lot. They need to make shows with good ratings if they want to get a decent piece of ad money. Right now they are getting killed by Netflix and Paramount+. Disney shows don't even show up.
My dad finally got his disney+ cancelled. They make it difficult. They tried to cancel his entire disney presence for canceling. He almost got fked on his pass tickets for canceling.
Sunny Holston is making disney look ridiculous!!!
Disney should get rid of her immediately!!
The whole show needs to go. She's just the icing on a very nasty cake.
I only watch the older stuff on Disney.
Parents don't have to preview Star Wars for the kids, Kids don't care about Star Wars.
You shouldn't be selling advertising if you can't make anything people want to watch
You have it backwards: advertisers shouldn't be buying ad space on shows nobody wants to see
You can sell anything you want. Advertisers will stop buying when no one watches.
I used to make commercials..what ever show you are running ads on is suppose to provide YOU with numbers ...estimated before you pay..somehow Disney convinced them the numbers they just made up were real (how they did that I don't know)..they can get their money back if the numbers don't reach what was projected..and they can really get their money back if they JUST made the numbers up..I get the feeling the disney commercial sales people are going to claim ignorance of that fact
Disney needs to stop with the WOKE bullshit.
I agree 👍 💯 percent
Brainrot Republican comment who never aged past 2016
It could very well be that commercials are the true entertainment on Disney+...
They went to woke. You can’t trust them.
Who did not like Flipper? Or even a non animated film... it was all still good stuff. The excitement of seeing the Disney logo popping up on TV... me as a 2 year old watching Annette as a musketeer and loving her. I wanted a damn mouse hat. But that has all gone down the drain. Disney is lost and gone. Forget even talking about it. Who cares anymore. Just go watch Great British Bakeoff or Gordon Ramsey on a rant, way more entertaining and less lecturing .and preaching and feeling like your childhood was bombed.
Why are there even advertisements on a subscription service?
Screw the ad guys, let the buyer beware.
Not just people not watching, many who are not into the 'modern message' are actively boycotting companies who advertise on these shows that support 'The Message'.
I'm none too happy with Disney.
I don't think anyone deserves a refund. Sorry. If someone tells you: "Hey we're letting Indy become a sad loser who's getting his ass kicked by a semi good lookin, arrogant feminist girlboss. In a time travel plot. Don't you want to advertise with us? and you say "yes" then you shouldn't be rewarded with a refund but be fired and laughed at. And while Indy 5 is horrible it isn't even remotely close to being the worst stuff they've released in the last couple of years.
One of my biggest frustrations with Disney Plus is the lack of an option to block individual shows I consider inappropriate for my children. While they allow us to restrict content based on ratings, there are many shows within the G to PG-13 range that are fine for my kids - and others that are definitely not. Without the ability to block specific titles from our subscription feed, I’m considering canceling Disney Plus. I believe all streaming services should offer this level of control to their customers.
Dammm ! It's unbelievable because Disney has reached Môôôôdern Audience !! So 12 ppl...
Frankly, if you still had a Disney + sub even a year ago that’s on you folks. I had it the first year it came out and was done when they made it clear they were more interested in politics than entertainment. I have never looked back. None of my hard earned money goes to the shit company of Disney. They ruined my childhood, I hope they go down in total. If Intel Corp can fail, as big as they were, I am confident we can destroy Disney.
Welcome aboard. Boycotting since 1985.
But TH-cam is doing another price increase in January.
YT charges? Money?!😂😂
@@StickySyrupEverywhere There is premium and TH-cam TV.
@@StickySyrupEverywhere Could be talking about TH-camTV which is raising rates.
They need to become a parks company and just sell their content division.
At this point I am amazed that their shareholders haven't sued them for breach of fiduciary duty, since their DEI practices and the poisoning of their legacy works, and wokeness of their current movies, have all contributed to massive losses.
Disney is stirring indeed. My ISP was like "Hey do you want Disney Plus for just 5.99 a month?"
How about NOOOO
Except TH-cam TV bumped their price yet again. Im cancelling after the college football playoffs is done
This is because all of the old legacy networks will continue to raise rates until they finally die. None of them are trying to survive, just squeeze every last penny out. The media companies are now splitting into 2 units, 1 for old legacy broadcast and cable channels and one for streaming. The old legacy units will just try to make as much profit as they can while they're still around and the streaming unit will all be about growth. The only future is streaming.
Iger did everything possible to destroy the original brand. That’s why he divested into Marvel and Star Wars among other projects. He brought in all this new stuff and is destroying all the OG products.
I’m still paying full price, because it renews annually and at a time when I don’t have a chance to check out my options. We’re here for the “convenience” of not having to swap out DVDs for the classic catalog and Bluey, and for stuff made by Povenmire/Marsh that I can’t get on DVD. Our other two services are Netflix and Amazon Prime, which we use sparingly. We’re on TH-cam more than anything.
Disney better wake up and pay attention
Well they're woke so....
If you’re voluntarily handing your money to Disney, you’re part of the problem. I’m a lifelong Beatles nut, I buy almost everything but I won’t buy Beatles/Disney.
Same for Bezos.
Has anyone heard of them doing a phantom of the opera? Well, Disney plus is actually planning to do that. And honestly, I hope they don't screw it up. Has anyone looked at the latest news on the Disney films Some of them are not exactly going good
Good. That's good.
Disney doing Phantom of the Opera? In what world they are capable of giving that musical any justice at all and not eff it up?
Nah, I will stick with Sarah Brightman. She knew how to sing it without everpresent pitch correction and she's never been a nasty trash like Zegler, etc. AKA Disney favourites.
If I wanted a different take on the famous song, I will replay OG Nightwish or F. Jansen's recent version with Henk Poort, one of the Phantoms. Quality stuff and no bs fan blaming.
Disney is only good for YTbers making videos about that dumpster fire so I can laugh at it during pre-Christmas cleaning around the house.
I like That Lorn Place.
For how expensive monthly streaming service fees are its just easier to find the series for either physical purchase or digital online for download than it is to waste money on a streaming service. We don't watch enough TV in our home to justify more than one service and it isn't Hulu/Disney.
2:52 the same Broadcast television THEY ARE REMOVING from TV's in Spain and Latin America?
THAT Broadcast television?
Really? Whoa! Way to go Disney!
Broadcast tv is basically going away everywhere. It won't completely disappear in the US, but it will just continue to have a smaller and smaller audience. None of the media companies even care about them. They are either trying to sell them or split them off into a separate unit so they can position streaming as its own growth unit. They don't want streaming stocks to be dragged down by the legacy linear channels.
Sounds like the chickens are coming home to roost and im here for it 😂
Disney + was amazing when it was released and now is a total dud. I used to love it.
It was amazing for about 6 months, if that long.
I always thought it was "en masse," but w/e
Exact same thing in two languages
I wouldn't give Disney a penny of my money!! Poor Walt. This was not what he wanted his company to turn into!!
Disney plus had ads? I recall no such thing, but it's been some years.
We have Disney + for Hulu and ESPN- and the use of access to older content that's harder to find, we don't really watch a lot of the new stuff, I especially don't.
Disney the IP destroyer 🤣🤣
hey ..."negative growth" is still growth...🤣📊
Yeah! Just look at that graph chart movement!
I feel It’s a downward spiral…. the Star Wars budgets will be reduced, and then even less viewers will result of that. Then budgets will be reduced yet again and viewers will be even fewer. This cycle will repeat a few times, and then Star Wars TV shows will end. Seems like Disney is pivoting back to movies, and hoping to maintain a level of quality in that which will sustain its business model. I do appreciate the world building on Star Wars shows with it high production value. That and nostalgia carry me despite the lack of interesting characters and bad storytelling. With this current series I feel it’s derivative of Spielberg’s work. “Goonies in space” etc with shots literally copied out of ET etc. I feel the key is to push past copying the past, not pushing “the message”, and charting a course in the whimsical/new territory with what only really matters…. the characters.
Words speak Numbers scream 💁
#CancelYourDisneyPlus
Anyone who hasn't is the problem, not Iger. They're what's supporting him.🤷🏼♂️ The old movies are on DVD/BluRay. That's no excuse.
This is Bobby Iger’s fault.
Why isn't anyone talking about this
We are. And have been. Quite a bit. Really.
I like you videos
Thanks Keep up the good work
I beg to differ with the statement that this is HUGE. HUGE is like a tidal wave. This is an extinction event.
The idea that an event holder incorporates a promise of viewers into a contract tells you immediately that the entire normal landscape of seller's market is gone, at least for Disney. It tells you that the Advertisers have been burnt before, are pissed, and have literally gone to their lawyers to create a brand new paradigm. They forced Disney into a guarantee. Contrast this with, say, a Super Bowl, where advertisers are bidding the price up to freakish levels.
Go woke go broke, that shit never gets old😂😂😂
What advertisers are those? Because I subscribe to Disney+, and I've never had an ad on the channel.
People are going to streaming service that are free like Tubi
Yes or if you have Prime with Amazon they have loads of stuff too.
Imagine Disney be so unnerved by this that they cut their ad rates.
If you have to watch advertisement, you should not have to pay for it.
4:23 people look at me funny when I tell them I haven’t watched a tv commercial in years but it’s true. I noticed prior generations view ads as something they just have to deal with, silly.
They spelt utterly failed wrong lol
I haven't willingly given money to Disney in 15 years. Added HBO to that list this year.
I don't fund racist bigots that push their crap but can't take it.
Remember the past? When they committed to a show with 22-24 episodes a season? With a episode around 45 minutes long?
Now we get 8-12 episodes a season with shorter episodes and even if it's good it's getting cancelled. Because why advertise something that isn't made to last to begin with? From the streaming services point of view. Because the next show is just around the corner.
And that's what the audience and the advertisers are supposed to buy into?
Yeah, sure.
How about 1 Marvel and 1 Star Wars show?
One big story story per episode and a bigger story being build up in the background with a big finale at the end of the season. the next season could follow the story elsewhere with other characters if necessary, but then again, that would need a lot of planning and commitment, as well as skill.
Twitter/X has failed with advertisers …. Disney + does not produce for advertisers either. It’s not the platforms, it is the audience that has abandoned the content provided on those platforms.
When the content doesn’t draw an audience, advertisers quit.
Wishing and hoping does not make it so(old adage), neither do destructionist lies whether small or BIG. In a real world where reality COUNTS for survival, remember per Robin Williams, "Reality. What a concept."
ive never used streaming for movies or music i use blu ray for movies and scanned youtube music for audio and then buy the cd that has the songs i like.
🔥🔥I also think people are getting used to platforms with no advertising. People are done being advertised to. I’ve never bought anything because of an advertisement.🔥🔥
Well, they turned a disney plus planned exclusive; into a 600 million dollar Moana 2 movie release… Most likely Disney Plus advertisers will eventually get some kind of percentage of Moana 2.
Perfect example when a company has no balls when it comes to trying to please fringe players...
Disney. Who cares ? Although watching them lose money is entertaining. I despise Iger and Disney, and I grew up on their classics !
Never hear this on Disney conference calls.
Couldn't make it through Acolyte, but have enjoyed Agatha and Skeleton Crew. Streaming is a dying business model. None of that advertising is working.
Just a note, Agatha was only meant as one season, just like Wanda Vision. The Vision show coming up is part three of that story.
It's "en masse" not "in mass".
They're the exact same thing in two different languages.
And we will say no to their pleading to stick around.
I'll never watch The view. They are disgusting
I've never met anyone who watched The View. Appears to be a diminishingly small number of embittered haufraus.
You couldn't pay me to watch those clucking hens! 😂
They are hilarious in a very quite pitiful sort of way. It rankles my scruffles that idiots like them are paid so much though.
Well the lousy ratings, withdrawaling attendance it was eventual. Bob Iger wants to embrace DEI and ESG there would be major financial consequences.
Honestly, the only reason I have Disney+ is because I watch all of the older stuff that I like. The older Marvel movies the older animated shows the older Star Wars stuff, etc. as far as the newer stuff I barely watch it and I probably never will. But that’s the only reason why I hold onto my Disney+ subscription. Thanks for the video.
Lester f’n Freeman “follow the money.”
every time i see an ad i don't like i block it. and if it's offensive enough to me i report it too. i even fill out the little blurb line. disney is always being blocked and reported on my devices and accounts. i wonder if my habit with ads is catching on.
It is simple enough. I have no interest in anything from or related to Disney.
Advertisers support Disney. Their choice, their problem
That's interesting, aren't these big companies down with the woke struggle too? They should proudly take the loss because at least the "message" is going forward. Maybe Larry Fink can cover their losses like they do for Disney?
Not to mention Disney gives out free accounts for their cast members so how many of those number are from PAYING subscribers
Good news
Why aren't investors suing them for destroying the value of their stock?
Shouldn't be able to change the service every month. Either streaming doesn't have ads or it has ads and it's free. Or I adblock and find it free online. Ridiculous.
they need to have an audit in disney's finances
