Beautiful cats John, I get that they weren't planned or wanted, but there they are--I'm so glad they have you to take care of them. Thanks for showing that trick with the brush and the paint--I've had that happen plenty where I didn't want to buy a bunch of paint to brush on. The Greenfield wrench came out awesome and what a cool tool!
Another fine video John. Pipes and his family are lucky to find a kind person to take care of them. I would snap up that Little Giant wrench in a heart beat. 😁😎
Wow, the devil is in the details for sure! Fixing the casting blemishes all smoothed out with the orange really makes it pop. Definitely a handsome wrench!
Yes, I would like that wrench in my collection. It's a beauty with the orange paint, and your cleanup was great. I think Pipes wants to go to the Poor Man's Flea Market. He is as amazed at some of your finds as I am. Thanks for caring for the little pets.
That pipe wrench came out looking very nice, like the paint technique, excellent clean up. You gave a couple good tips I plan trying them out. Thanks for the video sir. Your Kitty sure likes you, you can tell it by the way he approaches you, happy little feller.
Beautiful work on the wrench! I especially like the orange fields. I saw 357 Magdad's latest tutorial and he did do a great job. Thanks for sharing this.
The pipe wrench looks terrific. Very well done. Interesting about the wonky factory lettering. The colour looks more like ScoutCrafter red, likely the camera not doing justice to the actual colour. Dave.
Congratulations on the cats! My wife adopted a "stray" which then had 4 kittens. They stay in the house but dont like to be handled. Excellent job on the pipe wrench!
Neat looking wrench and beautiful restoration - well done John. We had a cat for several years that just showed up one day and never left. Still miss the little guy as he passed on a few years ago.
What an outstanding restoration. I definitely need that orange paint to add to my collection. I now have a new standard to try to meet as you just raised the bar.
Very good looking wrench after you cleaned it up. I think it would look a bit nicer if you painted the little triangle area by the teeth since you painted everywhere else that had that rough metal left.
I think it's throwback Wednesday. Old school scoutcrafter restoration! I've got one those wrenches (guess why😂) and I only wish mine was restored as nicely. I did use my beltsander again today for the first time in months. It felt good!
Outstanding restoration John, two great restos in as many days from two of my favourite TH-camrs, how good does it get, great inspiration ! Pipes is just repaying your kindness, says a lot about man, how he treats other animals !
Beautiful job! I love the original orange. Thanks for showing us all the details of the process with your clear explanation of your methods. I always learn a lot from your videos. Outstanding content!
I always enjoy your critters, Pipes loves you and it's nice to have someone around...I have a cat that sleeps with me and I walk her on a leash, she's keeps this old man company, thxs for sharing...
OMG those cats are adorable, and that’s coming from a dog guy. Beautiful job on that wrench Scout. I often wonder when blokes were stamping these out, did they ever consider what would happen to them or would they be surprised that they’re still around 100 years later. I’m sure they would be wondering what sort of maniac would be restoring them. As a practical joker boy I could have some fun with that wrench, telling an apprentice plumber that it’s reversible but you have to take it apart and put the jaws on the other way to undo with it. 😂😂😂. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺
Stuart- Some of those old tool manufacturers had some really talented people working. Many were trained machinists from Europe all eager to work and prosper. 😃👍
Johnny boy you hit nail on the head…spot on that perfect outcome 😮 Pipes is a man’s best friend 😂 2 of my dogs would of did the same thing the other one would have taken off over the bridge and ended up in Florida by now lol Thanks for the vid see you Friday kido 👍🏼
It seems like feral cats are everywhere now! I woke up the other day to see a kitten sleeping in my dogs bed in my kitchen. It wasn’t my kitten, and I’ve never seen it before. We have a pet door, and I guess this kitten wandered in to eat the dogs food and fell asleep in the dog bed. I took that cat to the vet the next week, gave him all his shots and named him Ted. He is the coolest freaking cat I’ve ever seen. He has no fear and is the most loving, affectionate cat I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m glad you love cats as much as I do John.
You got cats we have cats. Neighbors don’t take care of theirs, now they think they live here. My wife thinks they are hungry all the time. Orange is a great color, one of my favorites. You did a nice restoration. Thank You
Nice job on the wrench and red is always a favorite. I use to live in the city and we had many neighborhood cats walking around. But now I live in the country suburbs and there are no cats anywhere. Probably because there are more predators.
The before and after is so impressive! It is a cool pipe wrench, though I struggle to imagine when you would need to reverse the jaw towards the handle.
Great video 👍 “Wing It Wednesday “ 😂😂👍👍 Pipes was just trying to catch up with you and letting you know he wanted to join you on the Poor Man’s Fleamarket 🐈⬛😄👍Rumors has it that Pipes is Looking 👀 for a slightly used good condition scratching post at his local area Flea market in the city 🌃. 😄🐈⬛👍👍 That Little Giant pipe wrench 🔧 turned out Fantastic! Great information on how to keep those little paint 🎨 brushes clean. That Comet is some great stuff to have around. I use that stuff quite a bit 👍. I like that paint color you chose for the pipe 🔧 wrench 🟧, it is almost Close to the Ridgid paint scheme. Was the top of the movable jaw tricky to fix that chip out place it had in it?? Great shot of Old Glory 🇺🇸 flying in the breeze with that night scene of the 🌃 city. Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Friday. Have a great night! 😃👍👍
Looks good. Can you imagine the price id Little Giant had put that much time in to finishing it? Or half the time. Nowadays when I see someone hammering with a wrench, I cringe.
Sorry Scoutcrafter, I'm still a patina boy at hear but can still appreciate what a wonderful job you did there, a fantastic finish. Lovely to have an update on Pipes, always been a cat person at heart, can you remind me why the name Pipes please? Take care 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇬🇧✌️
You are lucky to have Pipes the cat, each cat has their own personality, my cat Oreo follows me everywhere, she wants to be near me and watches me while I'm in the basement working on stuff, Every one should have a lathe and several cats (as long as you're not allergic to them)
Great Restoration. I have similar wrench (european equivalent - Gedore 10'') in similar condition. Will restore it similar way. Thanks for inspiration.
The 10in wrench is called a ‘puffin wrench’. I was shown one in a metalwork class at school. They’re not as popular as Stinson wrenches but they do look good. That was around 64yrs ago. My, how time flies. Regards
That wrench turned out great and I love the colors. Those things are so much fun to do. I am grateful as well for the tips on applying the paint. I do want to ask you about the translucent paint you use on some of your projects. I went looking for some at hobby lobby and couldn’t find it. Where do you get that paint that you can see through? Thanks for sharing this project and have a great day.
Great restoration John. The advertisment at 15:49 shows jaw teeth below as well as above the adjusting nut. Maybe there is a purpose for that feature but I'd like to know what it is.
The Tractor Boys might take issue with your pronunciation of Allis-Chalmers...........Lucky for you The Tractor Boys are Chill unlike the Seething Rage inside The Patina Boys.
wow looks great ... but question Scout Craft....... How do you keep the metal from rusting after since you ground to bare metal??? wont it rust?? or do you just keep some oil on it??
Hi Jordan- I prefer a slower RPM and a larger size wheel- If running 3600 rpm a 4” wheel is good but at 1750 a 6 or 8” wheel is better. My setup is 6” with 1750rpm. The 3600 is faster but more stressful to work in front of. 🫣😂👍
Midwest farm boy here--one who grew up with orange Allis Chalmers farm equipment. Allison Chambers orange????? And, since you are in the northeast, most likely much of your power was generated by Allis Chalmers generators and transformed at substations by Allis Chalmers transformers. Just sayin'
I'm glad my project inspired you! Your Little Giant turned out great! I dig the design of that knurled nut.
Thanks for saving Pipes and his brothers and sisters. The pipe wrench (pun intended) was also saved by you, great job Scout.
Boy that wrench turned out really nice. So great of you to take care of the family of cats. I mean you are all they've got.
Beautiful cats John, I get that they weren't planned or wanted, but there they are--I'm so glad they have you to take care of them. Wow, the devil is in the details for sure! Fixing the casting blemishes all smoothed out with the orange really makes it pop. Definitely a handsome wrench!
Amazing restoration! We’re going to start calling you the St. Francis of College Point. It’s something how the cat wants to follow you.
Frank- I should get one of those backpacks with the clear bubble and take him with me. 😂👍
Yes, I would like that wrench in my collection. It's a beauty with the orange paint, and your cleanup was great. I think Pipes wants to go to the Poor Man's Flea Market. He is as amazed at some of your finds as I am. Thanks for caring for the little pets.

Dave.
That little giant Orange is like Chevy engine orange. Has a little Red in it. 😃👍
Congratulations on the cats! My wife adopted a "stray" which then had 4 kittens. They stay in the house but dont like to be handled.
Excellent job on the pipe wrench!
They say you have to handle kittens for 20 minutes a day or they won’t let you hold them as adults. 🤔
I'm nuts for animals! I always like seeing the cats, racoons or the muskrats! Great video! The wrench looks fantastic!
Neat looking wrench and beautiful restoration - well done John. We had a cat for several years that just showed up one day and never left. Still miss the little guy as he passed on a few years ago.
They have a way of tugging at your heart strings. 😃👍
Never saw a wrench like that. Very cool, love the resto. Pipes had my cat looking around.
Even Pipes was looking around when he heard himself on the video! 😂👍
What an outstanding restoration. I definitely need that orange paint to add to my collection. I now have a new standard to try to meet as you just raised the bar.
Fantastic job on the wrench, 👍,, Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family and all the critters,, 👍🎅
Scout as always top job. Appreciate the painting tips, really insightful. Wrench looks great - Like NOS!
Pipes is adorable. So glad you saved them. Neat wrench! 🌲❄️☃️
You always do such a nice job on the wrenches. Tell Pipes we said hi.
Very good looking wrench after you cleaned it up. I think it would look a bit nicer if you painted the little triangle area by the teeth since you painted everywhere else that had that rough metal left.
The wrench looks great! Thanks for the painting tips.
Hi John, what a great restoration on the little giant.

Tom- they say that cats find their owners. 😃👍
Great looking wrench and awesome job!
Beautiful job, that is a neat wrench. I haven't seen any in my area but that's part of the joy. THE HUNT! Thanks again and pets on the cats from us.
OMG those cats are adorable, and that’s coming from a dog guy. Beautiful job on that wrench Scout. Turned out great Mr. John. That meowing cat of yours had Copper Girl scrambling...lo ltoo funny
Johnny boy you hit nail on the head…spot on that perfect outcome 😮 Pipes is a man’s best friend 😂 2 of my dogs would of did the same thing the other one would have taken off over the bridge and ended up in Florida by now lol
Thanks for the vid see you Friday kido 👍🏼
😂😂😂😂😂
Wow Scout! That turned out awesome, felt like a throw back video lol! Just need an auto wrench and the nut tester!
It seems like feral cats are everywhere now! I woke up the other day to see a kitten sleeping in my dogs bed in my kitchen. It wasn’t my kitten, and I’ve never seen it before. John- That is hilarious! There is nothing better than to see a cat and dog get along. 😃👍
You got cats we have cats. Neighbors don’t take care of theirs, now they think they live here. My wife thinks they are hungry all the time. Orange is a great color, one of my favorites. You did a nice restoration. Thank You
Jess- Sometimes I think they just pretend they are starving! 😂👍
EIGHT cats??!? I was kept busy with just three!
Little emperors the lot of them!
Adorable emperors..

Steven- One time I bought a scratching post for the cats but they just avoided it and went right for the furniture! 🫣😂👍
Great job today ! The color was beautiful. Thank You for sharing!
Silly kitty and my go-to pipe wrench looks about like the beginning of that one but is a user. Happy week, John and God Bless!
Looks really nice. Too nice to use now.👍👍👍
Very different looking wrench and beautifully done up wow 🤩
What a great wrench with the extra jaws. Never saw one like that. By the way, GTD is the initials for Greenfield Tap & Die. Good work Scoutcrafter.
Looks good. Can you imagine the price id Little Giant had put that much time in to finishing it? Or half the time. Nowadays when I see someone hammering with a wrench, I cringe.
Fantastic 'How to' by the Master 👍👌
If be afraid to put that in the toolbox for use. Looks fantastic!
Another great video. Thanks for the wrench restoration review. I don't do a restoration very often and tend to forget the tips you show.

No matter how stressed out you are having a cat sit on your lap purring is the best medicine ever! 😃👍
Watching this episode I almost felt like I was back at work. I always saved my used discs because they were just as useful as the new ones!
With every use they become a finer grit! 😂👍
Nice job on the wrench! It might look good in green too, instead of the orange.
Yes! Translucent Emerald green! 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Exactly what I was thinking of!
Great Restoration. I have similar wrench (european equivalent - Gedore 10'') in similar condition. Will restore it similar way. Thanks for inspiration.
What a great looking wrench now. Poor little Pipes. He just wants to go for a walk John. Lol
Hook- Cats are funny, if you pick him up and walk with him and something scares them they will claw into you as they run for cover! 🫣😂👍
The 10in wrench is called a ‘puffin wrench’. I was shown one in a metalwork class at school. They’re not as popular as Stinson wrenches but they do look good. That was around 64yrs ago. My, how time flies. Regards
Great video. Pipes the cat and a pipe wrench. Clever. Now you need a cat named Little Giant.
Tamiya- X series for brush on www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006O5262?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
And DupliColor Metalcast paints for spray. 😃👍
Pipes likes to sound off I see and the wrench looks good all smooth out and cleaned up
Great job on the wrench! I love the cat's (and most animals) 🔧👍😊
Thats really beautiful outcome.
The only thing is i would have added some type of soft spacers to slow down that jangle of the adjustable jaw..
Yeah all the Little Giants have that slop. 😃👍
I’d love to have a little giant pipe wrench. Specifically one you can reverse. I’ll keep my eye out, one day, one will show up in my life.
Thanks for sharing have a great day.
That was an excellent video!!
The hanging hole is mainly for attaching a cord to lower tools down into wells and scaffolding.
I know all linesman tools require them but plumbing tools rarely had them. 😃👍
Very nice wrench.
Nice looking wrench
Sweet wrench for inspiration!
Great restoration John. The advertisment at 15:49 shows jaw teeth below as well as above the adjusting nut. Maybe there is a purpose for that feature but I'd like to know what it is.
I have two of those- Makes no sense to me! 😂👍
John, I am sending your cats something from Chewy for Christmas .
Dean- I know you must have Cats, you know their weaknesses! 😂👍. Thanks!!!
Do you have foxes over there at night? That wrench really looked raw, unfinished.
Here in the city we have lots of Raccoons and Opossums but no foxes or coyotes! Thank God! 🫣😂👍
The Tractor Boys might take issue with your pronunciation of Allis-Chalmers...........Lucky for you The Tractor Boys are Chill unlike the Seething Rage inside The Patina Boys.
I never could get that name right! (Along with many others!). 🫣😂👍
Turned out great
Pipes has a fine set of pipes!
😹
wow looks great ... but question Scout Craft....... How do you keep the metal from rusting after since you ground to bare metal??? wont it rust?? or do you just keep some oil on it??
Man, I miss having cats. Pipes is just the cutest little thing!
Over the years I’ve had about 15 cats all strays! I don’t know how they keep finding me! 🫣😂👍
I think cats are smart and can figure out who is a good person and not at least when it comes to the way you handle animals@@ScoutCrafter
Gotcha 👍👍🔩🔩
Little giant now you ar scratching my itch fantastic
Ha ha ha ha 😂 I like that wing it Wednesday.
I love those pipe wrenches and My wife said she wants Pipes 😮
😂👍
Do you think factories left the rough forge marks on the handles to help with grip?
Pipe Wrench, I thought you said Ripe Wench. Darn it.
Hey John - Do you run your wire wheels @ 3500 or 1750 speed? Curious to hear your thoughts on buffer/grinder speeds - Cheers Jordan
Animals are great
How else can I refine a tool like this is I don’t have a belt sander
Midwest farm boy here--one who grew up with orange Allis Chalmers farm equipment. Allison Chambers orange????? And, since you are in the northeast, most likely much of your power was generated by Allis Chalmers generators and transformed at substations by Allis Chalmers transformers. Just sayin'
What was that wrench selling for at the tool meet?
Pete it was $5 normally they run $15 on eBay. They aren’t scarce but it seems like they are like bananas they come in bunches! 😂👍
BOOM 😂😂😂😂😂😂
🙏🇨🇦
Ah, somebody wuves you.
