    My first thought was, "Man, that's freakin' overkill, who needs that?". But now...that board looks pretty ingenious! :)

      If you do a lot of fishing you can pre-make your rigs and always have them on hand and not have to stop an dig out your stuff to make a new rig plus you can have them in your tackle bag with different pound test.
      See my other video it explains the sinker part better.
      Thanks

    Wow! Pretty clever. I just made one, took all of 10 minutes. I used 3" finish nails, no heads to cut off. I tie my own blackfish rigs. Now I can get them uniform length, with minimum line waste, in less than half the time it used to take me. Thanks!!!

    This is actually brilliant. I usually keep 1 perfect rig around to use as a spacing reference and i still have to get rid of like a third of the ones i tie. Just made a smaller version of this for the smaller rigs I use and it worked perfect. Consistent spacing and perfect size dropper loops. Thanks for sharing!

      I have a piece of cardboard with slits cut in it at the top and bottom then wrapped around it then I have it in a ziplock bag. It’s a really big help having them pre-made. If you want a pic of it send me your email and I’ll send it to you.

    Cheers

    • @FatTailFishing
      @FatTailFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is for making a different size loop. So pending which one you use will give you a different loop. You could even use one then the other so the rig will have two different size loops. It entirely up to you. 👍

    • @FatTailFishing
      @FatTailFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also add another nail to make a smaller loop. Try adding one an inch below the one I was demonstrating.

      @@FatTailFishing thankyou .
      I think I will try your first setup and see how I go.
      We are usually fishing to about 40 - 60 meters in depth & about 1 kilometer offshore . I figure this rig should do the trick
      We mostly get snapper , flathead and the like .

      @FatTailFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      You can use any board you want, I think I said in the beginning of the video I had used that because that’s what I had laying around. So yes use a pine board if you want.
      Hope this helps. Also check out my latest video it explains that little loop better on its use.

    With the measurements you provided (awesome job btw) what is the total length of the rig ? Just curious I’ll have to see how long my “goto rigs” are and adjust as needed.

    Can't see in the video how you put on and remove the sinker. Also, what's the purpose of the small loop at the sinker loop. Great job

    • @FatTailFishing
      @FatTailFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes sorry I didn’t realize it was off screen. Ok, put the little loop through the sinker hole as normal to attach it to your line. If you want to change your weight or you’re done fishing for the day all you have to do is pull that little loop and it opens it back up again. Without that little loop sometimes it’s a pain in the butt to take the weights off without it.
      If you need a separate video on it let me know. 👍
