I have a 6.25" wrist, and I have been looking out for a 15450st03 (37mm blue dial) for the last 2 years, in the last 6 months I completely changed my mind. This is the one to go! this 38mm chronograph is just perfect!
White dial with Navy subdials make this watch high above casual sports watch. It is beauty and nobility in equal measure ! With high polish entourage and tapestry court of honour ! Magnificent watch ! And impeccable review ! Great job !
OML!!! I can't tell you how excited I got when this video popped up in my feed. I haven't seen any videos on the 38mm chronograph. Yours is probably the only one out there. Everybody else focuses on the 41mm chrono. Great video mate! This is definitely a grail chronograph for me.
In my opinion that is one of the most beautiful AP (and watch in general) that has been made in years. The size and proportions are just perfect. Close up shots are getting better and better, astonishing work Sir. 👏🏻
I have watched this video at least 50 times and I am still blown away by the beauty of this watch. The combination of white and blue sub dials is just perfect. I like it so much, so that I registered my interest with AP. Reviews from owners on the forums are very positive. I just hope in real life it is as stunning as it is on the photos/videos because it is bloody expensive. Hafiz, your passion for horology can be picked up from the very first sentences in this review!
I think that this 38 mm size is just the perfect size for the Royal Oak, the dial is fantastic 👍 I think that might be the perfect Royal Oak Chrono for me :D
Great watch review. I like the 38mm size a lot. One thing that sort of kills the deal for me is the date window. It sits assymetrically between the 4 and 5 hour markers. This really bothers me in this watch. I would love for AP to do away with it altogether.
I didnt know about this watch. 38mm, chronograph, and great color scheme. Quite possibly close to perfect. It misses on not having a display caseback for the beautiful movement, and perhaps not having a micro adjustable clasp.
I tried on both at the boutique in New York, I have smaller wrists at 6 1/4" but I felt the 38mm bracelet to be too thin and not substantial enough for such an amazing timepiece. I ended up purchasing the 41mm Panda. While it is large, I definitely don't look back! I love it and have been adoringly wearing it to time my eggs during quarantine lol
I too have about a 6.3in wrist. I used to think the 41mm is too big, but after getting a 15500st, I like it. AP generally is a more sporty watch, so it should be a larger watch. congrats on your 41mm panda. They've gone WAY up in value recently.
Very very good review of this AP. Thank you so much. It's a shame that they did such a poor paint job on the sub dials as you pointed out. Hope someone at AP takes note of your comment.
My guess is that sub-40mm watches are going to be more desirable in the next 10-20 years. Though perhaps less lusted after now comparing with the 41mm siblings; this model is going to be the future classic. Let's see.
great review again hafiz whats your opinion on AR coating? ive noticed some high end watches may or may not have it. I find if the watch does not have it then it tends to glare more, and be more 'blingy'. Do you think this could be purposeful?
I did talk about this issue in my Rolex DJ41 video, and yeah, like you say, I do think that Rolex dont apply it because they want the watches to shine which compliments with otherwise blings cermaic bezel or fluted bezels. APs have very high quality AR coating on both surfaces and I many times while admiring the dial feel that there is no crystal at all.
I recall when I saw rhat video when it came out and realized "this the one for me", now with the market softening I finaly bought it 😊😊😊 and I watched the video again, your shooting is still the best on TH-cam 👍👍👍
Yes the bracelet is ditto of 37mm Royal Oak. I will compare it with 15202 in a couple of weeks time, and you’ll find it. Bracelet is narrow on it indeed.
Yes the bracelet is ditto of 37mm Royal Oak. I will compare it with 15202 in a couple of weeks time, and you’ll find it. Bracelet is narrow on it indeed.
Hafiz J Mehmood could you compare this to a Rolex professional model please. Also the 37 RO to Rolex sports.!!!! I would love to see the sizes between them.
Love this watch but like it better in 41 mm. Fits me better, the watch feels thinner than the 38mm. AP used to own part of Frederic Piguet until they sold it to swatch group
I really think that the people who make the noise on AP reliability are the ones who never owned one. I have had this chrono in 41mm 26331st blue dial that comes with same movement as this 38mm roc, never skipped a beat and I wore it to gym, running etc for over a year. Sold it to mate and he’s still enjoying it with zero complaints.
Hi Hafiz, looks like all the subdial hands is not same, I’ve just got mine , and I’ve check on it, the paint is good and nice . Hope you can tell the world as well.
Hafiz having your macro shots we are slowly losing the hopes towards these haut horology brands, Seikos started winning the hearts once again. However I must say this AP is very nice having 38mm size. Any chances to show us Richard Mille watches? Now at this point I am really looking forward to see RM 11 (if possible) from you my friend.
I am myself disappointed with the macro observation especially from the Haute Horlogerie brands like AP. I would love to get hold of RM - cant see it happening very soon but you never know :)
Hafiz thank you. Now I remember about a British micro brand Christopher Ward and the particular watch is C60 Trident Mark III. I am highly keen to see this watch in your macro shots. I am sure this piece will not come up that bad.
Thanks to those stunning macro shots showning clumsy workmanship, I am convinced that this watch is not worth its price. I expect perfection at these astronomical price points. I think you just saved a bunch of people a lot of money
@Bradford Bertoli, I think it’s because 40mm has almost become synonymous with Rolex sports, so you see all the major brands offer every size but 40mm, sometimes 39.7mm or 40.5mm but never 40mm.
I think 39mm is the perfect size and there’s no real need to change it but I do agree the 41mm RO would go light years ahead if they were made in 40mm - highly doubt AP would do it tho. That being said, Royal Oaks wear larger than size so the 39mm RO is easily the same or larger wear than 40mm Rolex.
Stunning watch. As you know Hafiz, I have 41mm ROC and love its presence on my wrist (also have 44mm panerai) which is essentially same size as yours but this 38mm also looks great on your wrist (as you know RO always wears larger). Shame about the poor paintwork ('tis human to err) and the date font is asymmetric in thickness too. Superb, succinct yet comprehensive review!

Hi Hafiz, yet again, wonderful video. Hopefully will choose between this or the Titanium Offshore you reviewed earlier. Did you happen to have weighed this watch as you did the Titanium Offshore ? Would really be helpful if you could provide that info. My wrist is 6.5" but weight plays a large role in my decisions too.
I got the 41mm panda when it was released. Really wish I got the 38mm instead. As always, amazing video Hafiz. Would love to see more Grand Seiko videos from you! Would you consider a Hi Beat GMT in 44GS case, for example SBGJ201?
I also owned the 41 panda with black dials for a year and it felt too big on my 7inch wrist compared to Rolex 40 watches. I’m hoping to buy this one and the blue subdials would make this a watch id never sell.
You have definitely become my favourite watch channel! *On another note, I Can’t believe the paint job on the sub dial hands!!! So disappointing. *Thanks for the great content, I especially like your videos when reviewing or talking about sub 39mm watches.
Thanks so much for the support :) Yeah; the paint job on the hands is a sheer disappointment indeed. I’ll look at doing more sub 39mm for you for sure :)

Thanks so much my friend :) For the watches, no I don’t own most of the watches on my channel unfortunately. Some are mine, some from the people I know, and some from my local watch shop and I borrow off them. I state the details in video description when it’s a loan watch :)
Hafiz J Mehmood well that’s awesome to have so many iconic pieces around you and being able to touch them and reviewing them!! Thanks for your transparency and letting me know!
It’s amazing to be able to get hold of these indeed, and see them this up close. And then being able to share with wider community is a charm in its own. A bit risky tho due to prices of these watches and level of handling required shooting them, especially when watch is not your own, but well worth all the extra effort and precaution :)
I’ve actually talked about this movement in both of my 41mm chrono reviews too ref 26331 - blue and white dial, so didn’t want to keep repeating. But I think you’re right - not everyone would see all the previous videos on my channel, and thence the repetition doesn’t necessarily occur. Thanks for the feedback.
This is exactely the review I've been waiting for! Thank you Hafiz for providing us with the relevant information and some stunning macro shots! This review was really helpful, but actually I am now standing between the 41 mm and 38 mm ROC panda :D We share almost the exact same wristsize, so which one would you go for right now? All the best and thank you.
milkywatches thanks so much mate :) Very good question, and to be honest, 38mm I think is too small for my liking. Without a shadow of doubt, I’ll stick with 41mm. I do like the panda on 41mm more than the blue one. The legibility doesn’t sub dials is a bit of an issue, but not enough that it can break the deal for me.
Torro Lindsey i never said the 41mm ROC wears large on 6.5” wrist my friend :) Both will do for you but this 38mm wears small naturally. I like bigger watches so between the two, I’ll personally pick 41mm as it fills the wrist better for me, yet doesn’t stick out of my wrist.
Hafiz J Mehmood Thanks so much mate for your honest opinion, I find your videos always really helpful and on point! Already looking forward to your next review :) All the best, stay healthy!
Lovely video and review as usual. This watch is a beauty and would be ideal for me as I have a slender wrist. The deal breaker for me at this price point is the limited 5 ATM water resistance. I like to swim /shower with all of my watches without having to worry about water damage.
u can shower and swim with this AP in a pool with no problem. as long as u dont dive with the watch. I swim and shower with my AP RO chrono and have never had any problems. who goes and dive with any luxury watch? i wouldnt even dare to dive with my Submariner!
I had the white 41mm ROC and weirdly the off centred date didn’t annoy me that much. On this 38mm, the date misalignment definitely looks more prominent.
Great review of a stunning timepiece. Beautiful dial, one of the best RO if not the best. It seems to be a good size for my wrist. I’m Just a little bit short in cash :)
Great review and videography 👍 You always dig out the key points of a watch. In my opinion I like this watch and 15202 on your wrist more than other RO. But for me the date window is definitely the deal breaker.
Thanks so much my friend. I do find this a bit on a smaller size for my personal liking but overall it fits nice. Jumbo 15202 is matchless mate - no comparison :)
Lovely review Hafiz! This AP Royal Oak Chronograph in 38mm w/the blue sub-dials is my dream watch and you have outdone yourself with the close up shots and attention to detail. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
The only thing that doesn’t make sense to me with AP is this. $30K for a stainless steel watch. $80K for the same watch but skeleton movement? Literally they remove the dial, and add $50K for doing that?

That off-centered date window would drive me crazy every time I glanced at the watch, so a fail for me.
I had the white 41mm ROC and weirdly the off centred date didn’t annoy me that much.
On this 38mm, the date misalignment definitely looks more prominent.
Looks like this is the perfect size for me 38mm
I will choose this one but not Daytona
Only concern is resale value given the 38mm undesirable size for most guys
I think they’re keeping value far better than 41mm siblings.
@@HafizJMehmood they were just released too early to tell
Great review of a stunning timepiece.
Beautiful dial, one of the best RO if not the best. It seems to be a good size for my wrist.
I’m Just a little bit short in cash :)
Great review and videography 👍
You always dig out the key points of a watch.
Thanks so much for the support and the feedback. Really happy to hear this :)
Nice review. Well done.
Now I want this hard-to-get watch 😢
dream watch
Just Amazing! Beautiful simply perfect. One and done on this one.
You did a great job on this. You knowledge and
passion shows.
Nice video mate.
Great video
The only thing that doesn’t make sense to me with AP is this. $30K for a stainless steel watch. $80K for the same watch but skeleton movement? Literally they remove the dial, and add $50K for doing that?
Great video, very keen observer, stay safe & very hot watch 👍👍👍
That off center date window makes it look ugly
Bro you should be a seller for Audemars Piguet you Just convinced me to gett one 👌
Haha. Thanks for the compliments mate :)
@@HafizJMehmood im hesitating between the 41mm blue face or the 26315st panda
What do you think?
@@c63sk88 u should take the RO chrono 41mm panda or silver dial! nicest of them all!
Perfect watch, until I see the date windows
Yeah, off centred date truly sucks in this - Sigh!
without the date it would be perfect
top watch
so what now? Topic tells 38mm in the video its telling 41mm. irritating!
38 mm. is very nice , that would work just fine. Thanx. P.S. Tx.
I have 37mm and 39mm pieces but I've never tried a 38mm watch before.
I really wish they would leave the date off. Can't stand the date position. Other than that...beauty.
This is a Timepiece onr can enjoy and its only gonna go up and up in value over the years
date at 4:30....yuck
😍😍😍😍😍
Nice 26315
$30,000 watch, and there's dust inside the watch. SMH.
