I’m so happy you brought up the fact that both teams already qualified for the Olympics. I was really hoping that didn’t happen cause I wanted to see both teams play to the max but, this was still such a great/fun match to watch.

Let's hope they ended up facing each other in Paris Olympics.

One of the Japanese players also said during interview after this match, "I hope I was able to showcase enough of my skill for next Olympics" so I think maybe Japan using bench members is not only just for "fun" or hiding their starters strategy or what like people been saying, but also to figure out what these members could do during actual match to be included in Olympic later (I guess the members are not fixed yet for now).
Also, quite interesting that when some of the starter members entered from bench, I feel like they didn't do as well as when they were starters? Idk if their mentality was just not really there but it seems harder to play well right after coming from the bench, cold. And the bench members like Kai Masato did really good job this time in serving, rather than when he came from the bench like usual.
So I guess Miyaura and Otsuka are kinda monsters lol, they usually do very well right after coming from the bench.

Both sides didn't have their starters as they both already have qualified for the oylimpics hence why shoji wasn't playing.

You're spot on. Japan's strategy makes it so exciting for how they are going to play in the Olympics. The Bench players also showed that they are a force to be reckoned with

7:58 'not luckily, we practice that' - THANK YOU! too many times i encounter people who talk about being lucky instead of practicing and being prepared to be lucky.

Hi Erik! this was an awesome reaction! I'm a new volleyball coach and I find your videos extremely helpful!!
Thank you for the gem when you said that hitters should aim for the setter so they can't set the second ball. My mind was blown!
    Thank you again! Go USA!!

Did you know that USA and Japan OQT was the most enjoyable match I've watch this year? You could say that it was one of the comfort matches that I will watch again and again 😁♥️

Thank you for your reaction to this set! It was very informative and had great insight to the play on both teams. I enjoy watching USA, but, not gonna lie, I usually root for Japan as the underdog. As an American, however, I will root for Team USA (except maybe when they're playing Japan). Looking forward to the Olympics!

Thank God, they had been both qualified! My personal wish is they meet at one of the Paris medal matches, hopefully Gold✨ I believe this match was a valuable experiece for non-starters and teams as a whole, as improvement and great performance of them will be essential in big international events as well.

The fact that I set an alarm to watch this game and found out the Japan was not playing their starters made me so disappointed haha but it was still a great game... Maybe I was just expecting like a real real game to the highest level haha.

9:34 I think the lib might have moved to try and cover 11, bc u notice he moves to the right, in front of 8, right when US is serving so that the server has a hard time changing the direction of their serve

OMY Gdnss.... Japan I've been following ..jus b'cuz ..they always having fun n regardless of height they can ojt🎉 that ball away .. USA next..but down for USA vs Japan for the Olympics.. 2023 ..yeah.. should've invited Micah .. cause vicious games I always would want to here from the Libero n the Setter points.... cause they should be able to see eye to eye .. I'm 5'11 n I love smashing Against tall players.. they're so easy to tool.. esp from the middle..n it's all in the hands .. I never been faced, nor predicted... was bored of hitting.. walked up as a setter.. more fun there....the ball was always coming...
