Thank you for making this video. I would also like to note that Consumer Reports gave the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution a rating of 62 while they gave the Hoover Power Scrub a rating of 41.
Nice comparison. I have a 2007 Bissell ProHeat 2x and like it except for the tank in tank bladder system they used. I really prefer a machine with the rinse option so get the solution out and not leave residue that can attract dirt.
Rinsing is imperative, soap residue is like leaving a film of soap on the carpet in which eventually cakes up the dirt in bottom of the fibers. Imagine taking a shower with soaps 🧼 and never rinsing, ouch!
I saw a video of someone who does these not sure if you but they said the hoover was one of the best out and that the brushes are better and you can do longer fiber rugs and carpet without it getting all stuck or making a burning smell because others spin as a whole around it gets the fibers stuck and won't work well where as the brushes on the hoover it won't get caught up and also won't get hairs and things stuck all around it either and they did a suction test on the regular and the elite and it was like the same exact everything except elite had more room for water and I think a setting to use less water if you don't want to take time for drying in the test they both did the same and worked really good to clean all sorts of things on longer fiber carpet so how wave u ever tried them on the long fiber to see how the Bissell does
Would you be able to do a comparison between the blue bissell proheat in this video with the purple and green bissell proheat? Idk if there is any difference at all between those 2?
I have the blue one as well but my front cover for the brushes is fully removable and it has clean shot. I believe the orange ones are the older versions like what’s in this video. Go by model number, not color.
@@VacMaster1991 Maybe I asked the wrong question. Did the Bisell cleaner ruin the hardwood floors when you cleaned the area carpet? My husband believes the chemicals on the cleaning solution with the water will seep down to the hardwood underneath, if that make sense.
Thanks for the video what about wash the carpet by shampoo first with Bissell and rinse it by only water is that ok and didn’t damage the vacuum by the way what is this Bissell model is 2007 D or C and which one is better ??
I’m contemplating getting the bissel revolution (purple and green). Do you think it could handle an entire room? I’ve never owned a carpet cleaner, just vacuums. Are they more for spot cleaning?
He moved much more quickly with the Bissell. I believe the results would have been better with the Bissell, had he gone as slow as he did with the Hoover.
They both didn't do crap. The hoover didn't pick up stuff, the bisell looked like it picked up more but also smeared more of it across the rest of the carpet.
Obviously paid by Bissell. Compare how he races back and forth with the Hoover then goes slowly with the Bissell. Then there’s the “whoops! I accidentally made an extra pass” with the Bissell.
So to be fair, the Rug Doctor solution is garbage. Always has been. The Bissell and Hoover also leave the carpets laying differently which may have been why the Hoover looked worse than it really was after the first and second set. I also would have gone from multiple directions with both machines for as fair of a fight as possible, considering, I do it from multiple directions myself. That said, the bissell is more efficient at cleaning but the brush roll style does not handle thicker pile as well as the hoover and is more prone to trigger its safety cutout because of rugs or different shaggier style carpet getting pulled into the roll. Have had an older spin scrub from the 00s until its motor died 5 years ago, and currently a pro heat 2x and can say most daily messes will be handled without issue by either machine; Especially if you don't let it dry. Recently got a Bissell Spotclean Pro for between full cleanings, for the random messes. I pretreat and agitate with a drill-brush, and for what the big Bissell can't get out, I also will retreat and drill brush. Ferrets + Carpet = FML behind furniture.
Neither one of these machines has a separate soap tank which means you're always spraying soapy water. So that means crispy soap residue that just holds onto more dirt. So you either do your whole carpet again with water only or you do it all every 2 months. All of the new uprights have this same flaw. Even the Hoover SmartWash that has a separate soap tank DOES NOT RINSE! It Washes in the forward direction and does suction only in the reverse - no rinse water is ever sprayed. So why have a separate soap tank? I'm about done with all of these dumb machines. I have an ancient (15yo) Hoover that does Wash in the forward, Rinse and Suction in reverse, or you can just do rinse only or dry only. Too bad it's dying and is loud as a jet engine. These new ones try to be too smart and fail miserably.
@@VacMaster1991 here's the issue. My 15 year old Hoover did Wash on the forward push and did a clean water rinse dry in the reverse direction. That's a single pass. Washed with soap and rinsed. But the new Hoover has me do the whole carpet twice. Once on wash then again without the soap tank to rinse. Twice the work. So it's not even as good as it was 15 years ago. I'd use my old machine but it's dying and screams like a jet engine.
@@Dr_Kenneth_Noisewater What are you talking about the hoover has a separate tank for clean water and a separate tank for the soap. I know because I just bought the Deluxe. There is even a switch to do clean water only...

After each test please turn over the rug so we can see if it's over wet or not.

I rinse every time for the exact reason you said.
Thank you! I was just getting ready to purchase and didn’t know which of the two was best.
Glad you found the video helpful. The Bissell is great
Same. I've been on the fence. Definitely going with bissell

The hoover is better on extra high carpet for the exact reason you said
I have owned both and the Hoover is BY FAR superior. This “test” is rigged.
I'm not sponsored by Bissell. If you're so convinced then do your own test!
Good video. I didn’t see much of the pick up with the hoover. did you have the components working like you did on the bissell?
Definitely they both work perfectly. If the hoover was broken I wouldn't make this video
I noticed that, too.
He deliberately went fast with the Hoover to make it look worse.
I would use the Bissell on your main carpet but I would use the Hoover on delicate carpet like your thin rugs.
That is exactly what I do.
@@VacMaster1991 Which one sucked up more water?
@@ajf2005 both about the same
Crazy to find this because I just upgraded the exact same hoover spin scrub to the exact same bissell and the bissell is a beast. I was shocked
The Bissell is so much better.
I had the exact same experience lol
Would you be able to do a comparison between the blue bissell proheat in this video with the purple and green bissell proheat? Idk if there is any difference at all between those 2?

Does the BISSELL. Come with a 3" brush and hose for stairs?
Yes.
Hoover you didn’t use the rinse mode at all before the dry pass. Would this make a difference in cleaning your rug test? We won’t ever know about it.
The Bissell doesn't have rinse to that would be unfair for the test.
@@VacMaster1991 But that is NOT how the Hoover was meant to be used though. That is unfair to the Hoover

Question will the carpet cleaner ruin the hardwood floors that is covering hardwood floors?
Yes. This is not for hardwood. Use a Bissell spinwave

Did you use the same solution in each machine? I know the Bissell cleaner brand is better than the Hoover's.
The Bissell solution is better. Has more cleaning power
Answer - No.
I love these videos!!
Thank you! So helpful!!
The bissell sounds like a jet engine at startup
Yes it does
Hoover spinscrub machines just don’t have enough torque to spin the brushes.
Yea, they are sot and air driven so they don't have the agitation of the stiff electric brushes on the Bissell.
They need more brushes in the center of each. 1 row isn't enough.
Nice vid
Thanks.
If you have to run these over the carpet that many times, you will end up with carpet browning. This carpet got way too saturated.
Never had that happen. Just make sure to extract all the water.
The mis-match sock did it for me
Lol.
awesome video
