Yes, I would definitely do that - but tbh I do it only ~ every 3 months and it looks pretty clean after 3 months of use - but still I think it‘s better to do it more often then too less 😁
Hi, I chose this one as it‘s recommended very often. It also comes with the perfect gasket if you buy it here: amzn.to/4gGFVKb But every E61 shower screen and gasket should work on the Ascaso Steel Duo PID! ☺️
A puckscreen can achieve a much similar or even better result for less money. The two main functions of a showerscreen are even puck saturation at the very beginning when there is no water or pressure above or in the puck and then distributing the flow of water during extraction enough to prevent high enough flow spots that could disturb the surface of the puck and cause channeling. There are some videos online of people using clear filter baskets to show what really goes on inside the extraction and how the water almost immediately pools above the puck. Once the showerscreen is submerged and/or there is a decent layer of water above the puck, the flow within the water will be much different than how it appeared from the shower before. A puckscreen does a great job at stopping high flow areas from disturbing the puck where it matters most (right on the pucks surface instead of distribution at the showerscreen) and also helps saturate the puck more evenly at the start.
I haven‘t changed it yet but will also do it soon. Looks easier than I thought
Thank you that was veeeery helpful

Nice! Do you recommend to take it out time to time to just clean it?

Hi. Why did you choose that screen? Is it specific in size for the Ascaso Duo? Does the gasket come with it fit as well? Will any E61 work?

Can you tell me where youve got your puck prep station from?

Haha, me too 😁😂
Does the espresso taste better now?
I would say that I can definitely feel a slight difference and the shot feels slightly better balanced overall

Thanks a lot for the detailed information - very interesting to read! 👍🏼
For the faucet, if possible, we will replace it if there is a water problem like this.
