The females slowly teach them how to be more human and less robotic. But in the end, the reality is that the robots can never truly fall in love since they aren't programmed to feel. So the females leave- heartbroken and in tears. The male robots are determined to know what love is so they can express it to their coworkers. They dance and walk their way up Mt. Fuji where they meet an mysterious genie. There, they make a wish to be human so they can fall in love properly. The genie grants them this wish. The males run down the mountain, ready to express their feelings to their coworkers now. Unbeknownst however, when they meet the females again that their coworkers had turned robotic in order to be more compatible with them after stumbling upon the genie themselves. Season 1 ends with a cliffhanger when one of the female coworker announces she's pregnant...
And it's definitely not those implants in the base of their necks that let them wirelessly communicate and can only be found if they're cut open because they're definitelynotrobots.
Another fun fact; the group's head, Genki Sudo, is a former MMA fighter (and a very good one at that) who was famed for his flashy choreographed entrances. Basically, he realized that he was actually pretty good at this whole "song and dance" thing and figured that changing careers would be a lot better for his long-term health.
