My mother always remembered when you stopped off in Newcastle to show her this car. Thanks for taking the time to do that. Your mother and her were such good friends. I miss those days of driving up to visit mom and friend's.
You demonstrate the meaning of HUMBLE and a man that let's his cars do the talking!! You're what they call OG of street and drag racing whatever comes your way you run with it you don't back down nor bow down you keep your head up and roll with it.Great JOB!!
This car is iconic to me because of all the steel and chrome bumpers. It's a perfect compromise between street and strip . Maybe not a grocery getter but highway capable . Be nice to see it rip again .
Larry it's awesome to hear you talk about the changes it has went through. I have always loved it and remember you running it at kcir and when you ran Terry Murphys door slammer and drove there and drove it home. Or when the hood broke your windshield during your pass. Truly my favorite car.
Your car is a piece of history Larry, don’t change a thing. Beautiful piece of workmanship. I checked it over at one of the Rocky Mountain Race Week events.
Like I said before Larry Larson race cars are a true street car all steel all glass that’s what I like that’s the real meaning of a stree car. Keep the videos coming…
I can confirm the driving the shit out of it. We were rolling back to Topeka KS on drag week 2011 and you guys passed us right before a turn onto what was like a frontage road. You took those corners like you were in a new Corvette.
When Drag Week came to Virginia Motorsports Park back in 2018, I was so hoping to see that and you Larry. I was there when the new record was set, but as you found out on No Prep Kings, let Tyler Crossnoe prep the track like it was, and that Nova would have loved to have been sent. I believe that car right there could have taken everything you could have given it. But I have always loved that car. Just the transmission alone backs it a total badass. A True Street CAAAAAAAAHHHH. Not some "street outlaw" chrome molly, fiberglass "steel back half" BS Pro Mod.
It will be great to see a recent bit of history come back to life. For me, it was THE car that set the standard for real Drag Week cars. Thanks for sharing this with us Larry and major kudos to you for "restoring" it and we look forward to seeing you having yet more fun with it.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw this car on Drag Week. All pink with a roots blower out the hood. And then I found out it had a stick! I was smitten!
LARRY STREET LARSON always great to here and see from real life legend thanks for sharing larry please continue to share ur cars and stories Happy holidays my freind
That car made history and is a true street car. I , and many others , love that car ; it set a standard for others to follow.. I cannot wait to see it back in action. Thanks for doing this , from snowy Ontario , Canada.
@@the318pop not the same. It should have a natural born vin number and not just one riveted to it. I get the vettes as they are fiberglass from the factory but no full carbon pro mod bodies like sic seconds 2.0. The blue vette was a real mid sixties vette but thats really the only one.
@@TwoAMBlacktop I know but that class should not have even been made. If it has a tag it should have started life as a real car. No if ands or buts. Kit cars shouldn't even be allowed as they are just copies of a real car(baring very few exceptions). The fact this man built a truck from a real truck that is fast enough to run a legit pro mod class just shows that taking a jerry bickle pro mod and riveting a vin number from a basket case real car is unnecessary and really an easy way out. Ill never personally be able to build or afford to buy a vehicle of that caliber so really it doesn't matter but damn, its just better to actually have started with a real vehicle and not jump through some legal tagging loopholes to "win"
@@larsonracecars1667 Hey Mate how can I send u a pic. Email or messenger. It’s a car pic You’ll know the car. It had 12v down lights as Headlights lol.
You're the best Larry you really set the bar high for true street car in drag weeks first to do everything you have a great personality you have a great approach to building race cars you're an A1 operation I'll enjoy watching you anytime anywhere anyplace because you'll be winning go Larson race cars!
A 67in gold metallic paint SS stripes was the car I loved as 10 year old had a 65 283,pg in the mid80s , the old girl fooled a lot of people always wished to get another one
Always loved it. Really like the way you matched the truck's paint job to the Nova's. I hope that you just freshen it up. So cool to hear about the car. In my opinion, it still is the pinnacle of the baddest car on the planet. We're all anxious too....
Glad to see your looking well, Larry and excited there's things in the works for the Nova. Looking forward to some more great passes from that Heavy Chevy!
Such a great looking car! Always had a soft spot for that body style... My dream was the Chevy II with a Turbo-Fire 327 4speed..(SS Flavor).. It will be good to see another Chevy II get back on the road again! Best of wishes Larry!
Still looks great. My favorite color was when it was blue. My brother had a 66 SS Nova with the 327/350 4 speed with a 12 bolt with 4.11’s. It was a numbers matching car too.
This is how drag week should’ve stayed. Now I understand why you built the s10 to kinda show them how much they’ve allowed people to stray from a true street car
Hell yeah. Can’t wait to see it back on the streets. Suggestion. Whatever mic setup you guys have going sounds like it’s rubbing up against material of some sort and making the audio super scratchy. If it’s a lapel mic they’re super sensitive and need to be free of touching anything other than what they’re clipped to. Just a suggestion. Can’t wait for more videos!
Hey Larry, you planning to run sick week? Either this coming one or maybe next time? Would love to see you bring out either the nova or truck and play again. Race weeks aren't the same, since there is usually only two or three heavy hitters running
Larson would you mind telling me how heavy your rear coil over springs are what lb per inch you run? I’m ordering some for my 62. and it’s all steel and glass as well. The springs that came with my back half kit are way too lite.
Hi Larry, I may be wrong on the year but I think it was the National event in Topeka in 2011 you had the Nova in Comp Eliminator as an AA/AT, you went a few rounds, and the rumor was you drove it to the track and even had a passenger? I know you beat us in the 2nd round.
Thank you for the reply on the last video , I put the tire up against the quarter and 6” will work well . Which tire do you run on the chevy2 for the street ? Can’t wait to see that car back together , love the content 🤙

That car needs to be back on the road again. Historical race car in my opinion.
I’ve always loved that car, awesome it’s still around. I loved reading about it in hot rod when i was a teen

I've always liked this car. Still has all the glass and chrome.
Dam nice car
Still one of my favorite of all time cars, love the simplicity of the build! It just works.
I am looking forward to it. All steel, all glass, no trailer, just bad ass! Keep the content coming Larry. You're doing great!
Love the video of you cruising the Strip in Vegas with the Nova.
Larry is what racing all about love is the car 🇿🇦❤️

"Cranks up the alpine and hits the highway"
I’d buy the old stereo system so I could have a piece of that beautiful car!
How many miles can you get out of the rear tires? Not passes but miles. Please keep the graphic on there too, please sir. Thanks
