I had the 1959 Thunderbird, A feature with regard to the front mudguard, on this model, and the Bonneville, was the bottom stay could be swung down to raise the front wheel off the ground to become a wheel stand, thereby assisting in replacing the tyre, and brake linings etc...

The Thunderbird wasn't the first Triumph twin that Edward Turner designed in 1939, it was a Tiger100 500cc twin that was put into the Tiger 90 500cc single cylinder rolling chassis.

I got 115mph out of my 110 in 1961 - dueling with an E Type on Bodmin Moor. My 110 had alloy guards - the rear dustbin removed, a peel mountain mile fairing & (illegally) running on 110/115 octane aviation gasoline.

What those to guys did not know is that that particular bike is a Thruxton Bonneville. One of 13 built for 1959.

i have a question that maybe you can answer cause iv"e had no luck at it.honda blackbird 2002 . radiator in great shape so is the thermostat radiator cap. system is clean water pump new also. but in warm weather an i mean anything over 50 degrees the bike will heat up to 240F or more if i dont shut it off. temp sending unit is working an the fan cuts like its suppose to but will not cool the bike. every body says they just run hot by nature. i want to find a way to; stop it from running hot. got any ideas?
