I'm 55. Canadian and ethnically British. Grew up with the monarchy as a part of our governmental complexion and when I was a teenager and in my 20s, I was quite proud of it. These days it strikes me as strange and ethnically and religiously divisive, and I confess myself ready to see Canada become a republic on the Irish model.
