To the skate filmers out there, I've worked in film and television for over 20 years and skated for over 30. If you're truly searching for better footage then start by adding a ton of weight to your camera/phone! We use SUPER heavy rigs for a reason and that's because they're more stable. Gimbals are great for drones but are rarely used elsewhere on large productions. Yeah we have cool cranes which the average consumer doesn't have, but a good eye, manual settings, knowledge of light and some classic tripod/handheld/dolly(skateboard) moves and you're 95% there. 🤙
I’ve had bothe the wide angle and pro lens from Deathlens and I love them. The wide angle looks better imo than the fisheye but the pro lens looks crisper and better. Iam about to buy a new lens for my new phone but not sure if I should try something new or just get another prolens #deathlens
Seeing how wiggly all the filming is, i am still absolutely convinced, that the future not is mobile filming, but the gopro with max lens mod, the footage is just sooo much better...
@@ZackDowdy would really like to see you review the new GoPro10 with the max lens mod. I love the GoPro, the stabilization is awesome. The max lens mod is cool too, but if using it for skating you have to be really cautious, it scratches way too easy.
I loved my hpx, amazing colors and codec. I don't think I'll ever feel the same way about anything shot on a phone or dslr. Buuut thinking about buying a Sony alpha 2 and see how good I can make it look with a little tweaking
Ive been thinking about this lens for months but the fact of the matter is, its just not that much better than the built--in wide angle lens on the iPhone. The Sandmarc Fisheye is 10mm and as skaters, I think we really need it to be 8mm. Just my 2 cents.
How much dude? So crazy I just got finish looking into fish lens for my new iPhone. I forgot the name of the other brand. Will send link but it was about $100 for just the lens. The kit was a little more.
I’ve been using the Moment wide angle for a couple years now with my IPhone XS Max and it’s amazing. It also comes with a phone case that you screw into. My setup is the moment lens, the Scorpion JR., and a Rodes Mic. Would probably be better with a gimbal.
@@driftlessskater5475 All this footage is straight out of the camera, I do think the iphone 11 has a little built-in stabilization.. I've seen those moment lenses, haven't tried them yet.
What do think about using a gimbal for filming using an iPhone? A friend bought the DJI OSMO 3 gimbal which can track your movement. Amazing when filming solo.
Could you see the difference in this iPhone fisheye vs something like a HVX fisheye?!?

@@topdeckdog Big facts!
Did you like the hvx? I always thought it looked a little weird. For me it was the hpx!
@@ZackDowdy Not needed for an iPhone. Especially the iPhone 13. It has a very wide lens.
Footage looks slick mane🔥 i got the same phone its crazy how its almost like having an expensive dslr in your pocket lmao
Deathlens guys make the best phone fisheyes. But this one looks great too.

True! The new iPhone has more stabilization and "cinematic mode" but I do agree.
@@ZackDowdy but is not waterproof asaik, shockproof, bigger, and most importantly way more expensive

That happened to my mates pair of Krux too! He was able to get a new pair from the shop he got them from.

8mm would be so dope!! I found it a lot better then the native iPhone lens but there's room for improvement.

Just checked. $90 bucks
This one is $89.99, for the quality I think it's worth it. Better then some others I've had for a similar price range.
@@ZackDowdy have you heard of moment brand?
I love that park. It's so much fun
It's SO good!
hey quick add on you should turn OFF stabilization because it causes vignetting

mhh, I like the idea but the footage looks pretty shaky
That's the challenge for sure

Gimbals can be super good! I haven't spent enough time with them but I love how they look.
way to shaky and there is a difference between fisheye and ultra wide so saying the iphone has a fisheye is just wrong
Solid point
So true! No such thing
So it looks shaky cause he probably used 4k or 1080p with only 30fps. Or he is just shaky.
the only mistake in the videos u filmed is that that u filmed in 30 fps not 60
The iPhone has a wide lens not fisheye
People… i had come from the future to tell everyone, no it wont change nothing 💀😂
Cool video tho… im subscribing
Maybe a mirror 🪞 on the screen 📺 would give a view?
Lol this ain’t nothin new 😂 we we’re using a death lens on a high 8 back in the late 90s
I'm giving you a night call ... to tell u.... how I feel
These all shake like hell not worth it
