    For home use, the Chinese are now making models much more interesting and at a good price.

    The ViewSonic X2 4K has me excited at $1500. I was looking at the BenQ 4550 @ 3000 and wincing at bit at the price.

    It's a shame there are no 21:9 ultra short throws - well, except for the one here for Teams I guess. They lean too much into that idea of a "laser TV". The content I care about in my home theater is 21:9, ie movies. Everything else could take a back seat to that. I'd be happy to watch 16:9 content with side bars, but I still want the convenience and simplicity of UST, and the utility of an ALR screen. Epson has the best option out there in my opinion just based on that 0.16 throw. The rest of the companies should get with the program, a 0.26 throw is already a problem. You need to slam the projector on the ground and shove it way out in the room just to do a 120 inch screen in a normal house.

    so, who is the winner,. compared to epson 6050 4k for watching movies?

    No BenQ? Home theatre projectors need a refresh, but they are too focused on UST projectors atm.

    0:45 4.2 milliseconds of input lag?
    That still doesn't tell me anything.
    Is that for 1080p 120Hz? 4K 120Hz?

    • @Sipu79
      @Sipu79 ปีที่แล้ว

      if your screen refreshes at 120hz, that has more bearing than the resolution the thing runs at afaik. Ultimately it has usually to do with the circuitry that take the image from the input to the display. The more processing you have, the more lag you will generally have with these things. The Optoma UHZ50 has a completely separate gaming hdmi-port that eliminates most things between the signal and the display to provide low latency performance. It's likely that thing does something similar.

      I looked it up. 4.2ms is @ 1080p but that's what I expected. But 1500 for an LED 4k projector? Taht sounds good to me.
      Update: 16.7ms @ 4k 60hz and 8.4ms @ 1440p 120Hz

    Hometheater market needs to focus on anormophic lens make them affordable PLEASE it's still OVERPRICED! I really want a 2.35 lens attachment for my JVC projector I'm sick of watching it on black bar. Once anormophic lens became affordable this is a TV KILLER. Also this MadVR processor is way OVERPRICED! They need a affordable processor for our projector I'm sticking with my projector just because TV is getting bigger and affordable it just doesn't have that cinematic feel to it.

  • @zztop7000

    Why can't they lowered the prices of these projector screens,? TV nowadays are BIGGER and affordable while projector screens are still too expensive for example this Black Diamond is WAY OVERPRICED! It's soo OVERPRICED is keeping people away from projector are leaning towards bigger TV. If projector market wants to complete with TV they need to drop those expensive screens to attract hometheater market.

    Projectors' lot in life is all of the lumens your heart desires and more, but only contrast and black levels of a barely functioning CRT TV.
