- 40 MEIKO songs all by different producers put in chronological order. I wanted to hear just how varied she can sound depending on the producer using her voice. Full songs can be found below. The only pre-2007 songs I could find weren’t official uploads so I didn’t include them, but I know she was released in 2004.
The oldest song I found was made with a beta version in 2003!

MEIKO is probably one of the most realistic sounding vocaloids but the thing is she’s really hard to tune so people end up not using her
I really love her and would like to use her, but I can't afford the Vocaloid program :(

@@borderline_sunshine actually you don't need to buy the vocaloid editor because all crypton vocaloids comes with piapro studio and a whole music thing only if there v3-v4/nt. v2 might comes with the vocaloid editor but it's not really recommend.
For pros only! I think people thinks she plug and play. But she isn't, people need to feed into her jazzy bluesy style and stay within the confined space. But humans who love smashing a square through a round hole! The higher BPM the worse she sings! Definitely not a noob producer's choice!
She's not like that hard to tune-

I've fallen in love with her at first sight, she has the best design out of all the vocas, luka is a bit too ornate and miku, rin/len's outfit is just a sailor uniform and kaito is a man. She wins by choice and by default in my humble opinion. Not only that she has a better voice than most of the other vocas, only losing out to gumi and ia, and occassionally rin and luka

Is she not as popular as I thought? I am happy that she has fans - ( including my self to some extent ) - but in my opinion, a lot of other vocaloids deserve more love as well....I like Gumi and others more than Meiko but I just haven't listened to a lot "by" her or forgotten any thing I like with her...

@@saint-juste it's because it's the first real charater, meiko and kaito box art were just a drawing put here because it's cool. There were not intended to be a character associated with their voice, bit Miku was

Crypton never made Meiko nor Kaito. Yamaha developed them.

Meiko was always one of my favorite Vocaloids. It's a shame she gets no love in Project Diva. Evil Food Eater Conchita would be great for her.

Ha! Yeah , her character design is cute / pretty usually. I think it is rare to come across bad art or bad fan art of her....
She really deserves more love than she gets, especially her being the OG female Japanese vocaloid.

Funfact: Meiko was the most popular Vocaloid until Miku, she had a good 4 year run before Miku basically surpassed everyone.

It's so good. I wish Sega would try to pull the strings to get it in as an alt vocal for the song. I assume the original producer would have to approve and not just kyaami, but I wish it could happen.
MarceCloud 39! Has Sega included any covers yet? Like, I think almost all of the fandom wants at least one (i.e Electric Angel) but I haven’t heard of them putting one in yet.

Eduardo The description explains but basically I couldn’t find any with OFFICIAL upload links that I could link to. I found one from 2003 using a beta MEIKO, but it was a reprint on niconico. Even so there are very few from that period anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miku releasing is what caused people to become interested in her and KAITO.

thanks so much for making this vid!! i got into vocaloid 2012 and MEIKO is still my top tier fave, but i was never able to really 'get' how to use NND, i'm glad i was able to hear some of her older songs here!
Meiko is my absolute favorite among vocaloids, I love her strong voice. She first charmed me in The Evil Food Eater Conchita.

It's Sakine Meiko- MEIKO when she was 16. It still uses her regular voice banks because Sakine Meiko isn't an official Vocaloid sold or anything, but rather a specific way of tuning her to make her sound younger.
@@MarceCloud39 imo Rin's voice has a bit more that sensation of "hurting your ears a bit" compared to this tuning of Meiko's voice. Dont get me wrong I can still her unique voice this way

Ask me who my favorite Cryptonloid is. Use any metric you want: Favorite songs, overall quality, variety, vocal range, sheer beauty. My answer is always the same. The Goddess. And it's not even close. I routinely find all kinds of bad songs for Kaito, Rin, Len, and Luka; don't even get me _started_ on Miku. Plenty of great songs, to be sure, but plenty of bad songs. I've heard maybe two bad Meiko songs, total, lifetime, and maybe about five so-so songs. The rest of the time she exemplifies power, loveliness, elegance, emotion, all the qualities superstar singers are supposed to have. It's as if her producers are afraid of disappointing her. Hey, whatever works. ;-)

I don't have a favorite vocaloid to listen to but Meiko comes really close to being one. I wish my favorite producers would use her, but considering how bad her English voice bank is I don't think that will ever happen. For now I'll just stick to Evil Food Eater Conchita and a few Meiko covers of other songs

I have a whole playlist dedicated to vocaloid songs from 2007 and I replaced the songs in the NFS games since Prostreet (2007) with the playlist of the year the game was made in, and my experience was better, and even more better when MEIKO's songs played

no known songs before 2007? meiko came out in 2004
I explained in a different comment thread that there aren’t any prior to 2007 with official uploads to link to in the description. There’s actually a 2003 song using a beta MEIKO and KAITO, but that’s from some album so all uploads are reprints.

Alice Phantomhive I try to only use songs with some solo time. Dance Hall in Luka’s is the only exception because not only is it her most viewed song- it’s also wowaka’s most viewed song. It’s in my upcoming Project Diva Re:MASTER video as a song I want remastered from Mirai.
