Thank you! Thought it was something a little different. Looking forward to the construction starting to compare against these groundworks. This was a starter video for the site. Thank you for the support. I appreciate it 👍 I really enjoyed your Newcastle video! 👍
That drilrig is a piling rig. The long tubes of rebar will be dropped into the hole whilst the steel sections are still in.then filled with concrete and the steel withdrawn leaving a completed pile in the ground.
@@Jamie92208 Ah 🤔 the guys on site called it a drill rig - the piling rigs (apparently) are the "hammers" that slam the pilings in. They're in use on the A43 now. I've had a Google and I see the rigs there. They're piling rigs as you say. Thanks for this information. I appreciate it! 👍👍
The piling system is called a continuous flygt auger system (CFA). They are bored into the ground. The only piling system that hammers piles in is called a precast concrete system. They can only be used where there is underlying rock where the precast pile sits on top of the rock formation.
It couldn't. The Cost Consultant thinks it can but they don't possess enough technical knowledge to be able to understand how things get built, and hence how much things cost. That's why construction projects always cost more than the budget.
Really nice views, thanks for sharing 👍🎥

@@TrevorWilliams-fq8mg I love this! Thank you! I appreciate the information! 👍 It's so hard to get information from HS2.
So a viaduct ( how Long ?) will take longer to build than boring the Chiltern Tunnels
I've asked this question. I don't think it'll be finished by 2026 - based on information from the ground workers there. We'll see though.

It's the same with software engineering. Sales sell. Engineers build. Time and cost spiral because it was incorrectly planned.
