My wife got animal crossing last weekend (I convinced her lol) I had her visit my island and as we go inside to my house to show her how it looks like and this song came on. Funny thing is that this is like the song "sabor a mi" and this is our song 🥰 we were both like "is this our song??" Special moment from a good game especially in this pandemic.

I have always loved Eydie Gorme y Los Panchos for a while now. This is my first Animal Crossing game and when I first heard this tune, I had always thought it sounded a lot like "Sabor a Mi" and seeing that "K.K. Moody" is actually based on "Sabor a Mi" made me really happy right now. I feel like "K.K. Moody" really hit home for me, coming from a Hispanic family. I appreciate games acknowledging Latin culture, I guess you can say I feel a bit more welcome. Also, this remaster is great! The extra instruments play SO well with the song, especially from the genre that "Sabor a Mi" is from! I wish everyone a good day! :D

It’s been my belief that Mr. Totaka, the composer for all these songs, took inspiration from every genre of music in the world and placed it in Animal Crossing. “Sabor a mí” is just one of the examples, try singing along-it will follow until the Bridge. Love his work and this tune.

Totaka didn’t compose all of these (though he did some), most of them were Toru Minegishi. Minegishi said in an interview it was difficult to do so many genres but he had to study and learned a lot, you can see influence from lots of real songs in K.K.'s music. Some songs like K.K. Condor and K.K. Faire are near identical to real-life pieces from their genres. This one is from New Leaf though so I don’t doubt Totaka composed it, and the inspiration from “Sabor a Mí” is obvious.

One of my absolute favourite songs, and now made even more a favourite as it was the first song I requested on KKs first visit, and the only other person in the audience was Phoebe, someone that I would consider one of two of my closest friends on the island
This game made my 2020 summer so fun and I would never take back the time we all had with it for anything. I could go back to the game but it just wouldn’t be the same as it was the first 6-8 months. I love this song I used to play it on road trips and late summer nights :)

God I love boleros (the genre of music in case anybody wants to search up more). They bring a lot of nostalgia from spending time in Mexico because the kitchen radio would always be playing throughout the empty and echoey house.
