One of the saddest ghost films I’ve ever seen. The scene when you find out what happened to the ghost is heartbreaking.

This is perfect for a rainy afternoon and the music is beautiful.

This movie was so scary to me as a kid that I'd run and hide in my room whenever it came on.

I found this on Netflix, not knowing that it was one of my father's favorite scary movies (which shocked him when I told him I saw it.) we got it on DVD and it's a Halloween watch for both of us. I love it!

French American Director Jacques "Curse of the Demon (1957) Tourneau said the scariest things are the things we can's see and ordinary things like bouncing balls. The Changeling séance scene is the best of its genre. A masterpiece.

Great review. I saw this when it came out and still love it. One of the best haunted house movies. To answer your question I suggest the French film Diabolique.

Diabolique is a great choice! I love how it keeps you guessing whether or not anything supernatural is actually going on. I’ve been meaning to make a video on it for some time now so you might actually see one for it come up in a few months!

Thanks for this video. This has always been one of my favorite horror films. I feel it is so underrated. Another one not many talk about that has kind of become forgotten although not in the same style as this one is The Sentinel from 1977. Pretty graphic and disturbing but SO scary nonetheless.

I recommend The Other from 1972. Always thought of it as an R-rated Disney flick.

The Other (others?) with Nicole Kidman. The point-of-view twist is smooth and elegant, like in a moebius strip.

Thanks for the review on this great movie. It's been a one of my favorites for more than 20 years. If you want to own this on physical media by the Blu-ray from Severin, not the 4K unless you want to boost the hue on your system before each viewing.

Really enjoy this movie, so much more than the slasher films of the period. It reminds me of the classic 70's horror films, like 1976's Burnt Offerings (streaming on Amazon Prime as I write this). Great video.

“Speak No Evil” is a movie that’s keeping me up since I watched it a week ago. It’s pure horror, but classified as a thriller.

I really liked The Thing. It is a little more psychological, though it does have its fair share of gore and death. Alien is also a fantastic suspense thriller.

Good final question. 👉 1991's _The Rapture_ starring Mimi Rogers, from Michael Tolkin (writer of Altman's _The Player)._ In the vein of William Peter Blatty or _Don't Look Now,_ the drama is a dreamlike submersion into apocalyptic tension & theological ponderance. A Top 10 film of the 1990s (imo), Ebert was a fan & it's one of the boldest, most haunting cinematic works I've ever seen.

The film you're referring to is the Clint Eastwood directed true story called "Changeling" (minus The) about a child killer in CA during the 30's and was VERY well made and horrigying story. How anyone could call it ridiculous is beyond me.
