The most disgusting thing about Boris is I don't think he's being stupid, I think he knows exactly what he's doing, so that means he's fanning the flames of hate and endangering people on purpose.
While not a member of your minority group, I can empathize entirely because I have a disability and a lot of issues similar to the ones you brought up about race are also swept under the rug when it comes to disabled people. I think that it comes down to tribalism. People love to feel superior and they will always use some arbitrary difference like skin colour or the number of working limbs they have to give them that hit of ego. This tribalism then inevitably ends up being used by those in power to distract from the fact that they're doing a shit job by scapegoating the people who are different to "our" tribe and blaming everything on them. Examples: "NHS waiting times are so long because foreigners are clogging up the system" (Reality is that they haven't managed the NHS properly to cope with a growing population), "Welfare costs so much because of benefits fraud" (This implies that all people on benefits are "scrounging" when in fact the vast majority of people have legitimate medical reasons they can't work and actually if you see a rise in people who can't work because of health reasons then it's a symptom of declining living standards for the greater population)
It honestly feels like it's getting worse, too... it's honestly shocking, the number of people who are prepared to use any old pretext to strike up a conversation with me (I have obvious physical disabilities, so offering to pass me an item I wasn't even looking at in a shop, is a common one), before almost immediately launching into a rant about people 'on the sick' - "there's this bloke down the pub with nowt wrong with him, but he's raking it in...", "all you've got to do is say is you've got depression, and they can't prove otherwise..." etc, etc - hastily followed up with a "Oh, but not you, love!" I've tried putting them right, describing the nightmare of (attempting to) claim disability benefits, the ridiculously low levels of fraud - but it all falls on deaf ears... and we're talking *at* *least* once or twice a month here - I mean, what the fuck gives these people the right to target me like that, as if my only useful contribution to society is to be a sounding board for their bullshit?! But the answer, in that parallel to Islamaphobia, is that it seems to have become a socially acceptable, sanctioned form of abuse/harassment - because if the papers are saying it, the politicians are saying it, and even the government/Prime Minister is saying it, then...?!😡 But let's *not* talk about how people classed as severely disabled (like myself) were affected by austerity cuts 19 times more - yes, NINETEEN times more - than the average citizen, because that little factoid seems to make people a little bit uncomfortable, especially if their votes enabled it... but ah! it was all Labour's fault for causing the global banking crisis, and terrorist sympathiser commie Corbyn hates Britain and wants to take us back to the 70s, and and and...

I think the kind of Islam people see around them, then there concerns are valid. The minorities that successfully integrate feel far less threatening to a way of life. Deep down that’s what it comes down to, insecurity over the way of life changing. People feel strongly about it, older you get the more aware you become.

I am on the left side of politics and come from a Muslim background and can speak for myself, that i lived amongst extremest views against every non-muslim being. white supremacist and a big part of the Muslim populations share much of the same believes about themselvee and the other, both aspire from the same untouchable unnegotiable independent view about themselves and an unworthy view of the other, communities with such values give naturally every qualitative and quantitative reason to be carefully concerned. So let us the left deal with these issues first, because we are way better in communication and integration than the right.

Personally, I’m not keen on the idea of cousin marriage. It just seems that there are plenty of people out there, why keep it in the family? Just seems unadventurous and submissive on the part of the cousins involved, and overbearing or manipulative on the part of the parents. A divorce on such a set of relationships would be fraught with family stress.
