    Russ what a fantastic view out side your shop . It looks like a post card . I would use the mechanical fan set up that came with the engine because G.M. spent a lot of time and engineering dollars to get that fan to cool that engine under the harshest condition . you have to remember G.M. design that Fan to pull volumes of air through the radiator and A.C condenser and that has a LOT to do with making the inside of a car cold instead of just cooler on days when its 95 + and humid , also Defrost mixes Heat And A/C and that is very useful . Stay well

    If I recall, you're using Dakota Digital gauges. If you decide to go with Electric fans, Use Dakota's Digital fan controller. It will bring the fan on when needed but also, will shut it off at a predetermined speed. It's pretty Cool. I have 2 fans on my 37 Pickup and it will stage them as well. If you said where you are, I missed it. But I'm guessing you're in the Valley south of SLC. I was in NEPHI a few times helping build a Gyrocopter at the airport. When it was completed we flew it in January from Nephi to Custer SD. Going over the Wasatch was interesting to say the least

    Hi Russell, great job on the Apache. So, what did you end up doing with the radiator? And what did you do to the fan to make it fit too?

    • @russellmcconahay7297
      @russellmcconahay7297  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the next video shows what we did with radiator, but I cut off the mounting tabs moved the radiator forward and got the clearance I needed. I then had a friend weld the tabs back on.

    Maybe you could put the radiator in front of the bar it mounts on. Or cut it and make a couple of 90" angle iron mods to make a little more room. Its 0nly a few of inches more you need. Another way I've seen in other videos is to cut that bar and put a bar next to each side of the radiator.

    • @russellmcconahay7297
      @russellmcconahay7297  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there is something different about the two units. The vintage air uses a continuous pressure pump and the factory Tahoe one does not work with the vintage air so there is a new pump that came with the vintage air system that I need to install.
