I'm working on it. I'm probably going to redo all of them because there were syncing problems with the screen capture program that I was using. Anyhow, I'm working on a series on Torah Trope right now. First two videos just went up. Check them out if you can. Thanks for all the affirmation.
I taught myself to read hebrew well enough to follow along in synagogue, but I really suck at the vowels and realize I can't read much on my own without learning them. I find them so much more difficult than the consonants, mostly b/c theyre harder to see! I think this will help, thanks for taking the time to post these helpful videos. Dina
THANKS SO MUCH! I needed something to help me with my bar mitzvah. im a bit late on hebrew because ive been travelling all over the place and i only have 2 years left to practice! thaks.
I've supplemented my 1st Hebrew class, and in the interim, I learned that the cheerek sounds as in 'big' , whereby the cheerek with the yud has the sound of 'ee' as in 'feet'.
What software program did you use? Davkawriter? How did you incorporate the pointer into the teaching. Excellent presentation Stan Best shreveport, Louisiana
Thanks Stan. Yes, I used Davkawriter. I actually used an app called Open Sankore, which at the time seemed like a really good open source program to make these videos. I have since discovered that the sound/picture sync leaves a LOT to be desired, so I haven't gone back to them in awhile, but my intention is to fix them at some point and rerecord in Quicktime or some other screen capture program.
Michael. Hi. My class is using "A Grammar for Bibl. Hebrew." I find it impossible. Thanks for your vids. Do you have, or can you do a video on writing actual words where we can learn these little symbols easier??
If the shava is not a vowel, how do you read this one: יְהוָה ? Is there a Hebrew word or name with two Consonant letters consicutively written without a vowel like "YHVaH" ( יְהוָה ) if the Sheva is silent in this writing? It is different to the Hebrew word אֲדֹנָי - Adonay (Lord). YHVH - יְהוָה - ADNY - אֲדֹנָי ( Adonay)- Lord.
Might as well become a Christian, it is the same as Judaism, except you don't have to wait for the Messiah. If you are looking to be reconciled to God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth the Son of God, Emmanuel is the only way. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
It’s funny how it’s exactly as the Brazilian Portuguese A E I O U in Brazilian Portuguese you have the two E as well one is just E the other is Ê and have the same two sounds as in Hebrew. Also the O you have the O and Ô both with the exact same pronunciation as in Hebrew it’s written A E I O U with the exact same sounds as Hebrew. Funny part is Brazil has the oldest synagogue of the Americas dating back to the 16th century and yes there are over 30 million Brazilians who are Sephardi Semites by blood who live as new Christians and are not considered Jews (when the Jews were expelled from Europe they founded the new world Colombus, Vasco da Gama, Pedro Álvares Cabral all the great sailors of the Iberian peninsula were Sephardi and hundreds of thousands of Jews were sent to what is called Brazil) by the pagan Noahide law that is in place in Ashkenazi controlled Israel while the Ashkenazi who are converts they don’t have Semite root they descend from Japheth as most Europeans do they are originally from a region in modern Turkey live as Jews. Crazy world.
Japanese has similar patterns too. So does and for obvious reasons Geez. Hebrew is an ancient language based on the Language Noah and the Patriarchs used. Languages such as Phonecian which is basically the same and Greek and others diverged from the common language. So in many languages we will have relics of Hebrew. We in Japan can read and sound and have the same meaning in some of our words as Hebrew. Eanglish and probably every language still have elements of the root language. Other people should be wise/careful enough to not add imaginations that they are the center of that just because of similarities. Maybe a people infused with diaspora culture and tradition, but not claims of being the Hebrew people etc as many a wild claim is being made in recent times.
Thank you so much for the great teaching! Love that "eyes"!
thank you for making it simple and straight-forward ))

Really useful, thank you.

great video
but I have a question
why do they add the "yud" if it's not going to change anything?
Thanks. That's what I'm shooting for.
do you know any school in Jerusalem that I can take clases?

Sorry for the delayed response.
Good luck. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Thank you
I'm looking to convert to Judaism, your channel helps me tremendously! Thank you!
Btw, do you have a brother name Adam Weis? 😃

I thought the one that made the oh sound can only be used on vav
the linguistic enthusiast If you're talking about the dot that appears above the vav, it can also appear without the vav and has the same sound.
I've been studying Hebrew my entire life. How is it that I never heard of the chataf kamatz being pronounced as 'oh' ?!
Not sure what to tell you other than it's true. Have you been studying Biblical or Modern Hebrew. If the latter, that would make more sense.
I'm studying biblical Hebrew and you got it... It is quite embarrassing to admit that it had escaped me until I saw your video hahaha!😅😅
Thanks a lot!
