Interesting how TIME showed no video of how modern cities in Rwanda are becoming but rather videos of the rural areas still, despite the Presidents message. This is how media of the western societies play

If they have showed how Kigali is nowadays people would have been shocked.
The city is cleaner and greener then the capital of my country (Brazil).
As far as I have seem.. there're no more slums, there's plenty of foreign investments and a reasonably structured public transportation system.
Bet your money that my first african destination will be Kigali...

Paul Kagame - the last remaining intellectual leader in Africa that we must protect from vultures!
    Patrice Lumumba - assassinated.
    Thomas Sankara - assassinated.
Meles Zenawi - possibly assassinated through poisoning, for promoting and creating a developmental state that did not answer to the Western imperial interests. Kagame admired him and borrowed some of his ideas as well. The rapid economic development that transformed Ethiopia within two decades was unheard of in the country’s history.

Even more disturbing is the constant portrayal of Africans as a mass of people Indistinguishable one from another. No farmers, miners, school children, city workers, just a blob of people. Kagame is not a democrat, hell he's probably not even a good person. But he does not need to be a good person to successfully run a country. Country leadership doesn't/shouldn't think like a human, it must almost exclusively process and act strategically for the common good. He should just accept the fact that he is a despot, but one of the rare achieving ones. People who idolize Kagame should not do so under false assumptions. He IS authoritarian, you have to quit the hypicrisy and recognize that, and yes at least he seems to be doing something for his country, contrary to those just embezzling the people's money. That's where the difference lies.
If our countries had sensible and truly dedicated leaders, Kagame would rate very badly amongst them but halas....most seem to be worse than him, in my opinion

The Congo is the one stealing minerals, according to the Angolan govt:
    Reuters Oct. 14, 2018
Angola, the world's fifth largest *diamond producer,* has launched an operation in recent weeks to clear tens of thousands of people involved in *digging for precious stones.*
Many of them are from neighboring Democratic Republic of *the Congo,* and *hundreds of thousands* of people have poured over the border *back into the Congo,* border guards there told Reuters.
Angolan security forces stormed the town of Lucapa, according to 15 witnesses, *killing dozens of people, burning down homes, looting property* and forcing people to leave.
"There was a lot of violence in Lucapa. *The military was shooting at us while Tshowke were killing people with machetes.* They jointly killed more than a dozen people," said Victor Tshambapoko, 28, who worked as *a diamond digger* in the region.

In rwanda he has been pushing a policy of accountability and a strong judicial system, and he keeps emphasizing on the accountability thing, and there have been progress but not yet 100%, on the judicial thing, it been great but still a minor amount of lawsuits are won and the judicial system/police do not uphold justice, but these cases have only happened when wealthy/connected individuals have been accused by poor people and they win the case but no justice is given to them, but the judicial system is quite capable, but again in countries that haven't had this tradition of the rule of written law, there have to be strong leaders to keep everyone accountable for a few generations, until it becomes a tradition, again rwanda has a very strong investigation department and has pursued to uphold justice for everyone, again it will have to be seen if high level investigations(with politicans and the powerful) is not politically motivated, but so far it seems it's not politically motivated, but again the best test is time, at the moment he is the one holding everyone accountable, and every yeah there are meetings with common people where they share their problems and solves them on the spot by helding the responsible accountable also meetings with all the officials each yeah where they have to account for their progress and are held accountable and other things like that, and as things stands today he is truly the one person making sure everyone is held accountable and progressing, i would hope the one who follows keeps doing the same or hell let him keep doing what he does, until his practices become a tradition
